I Would Like to Thank the CoG Community

I will get @Nathan_Faxon back one of these days!
starts to plan a superbly evil plan

@Nathan_Faxon @Wraith you hijacked this thread. Again. Also I want to join whatever that isā€¦ If only so I can see the Momma Nathan bit.

Also Iā€™d just like to say I love the COG Forum and itā€™s many inhabitants (yes even @Nathan_Faxon and yes even mutants like @Jjcb I have a big heart). I remember when CoG only had Choice of Dragon (my first CoG btw) Broadsides (my 2nd) and a few others and for a long time CoG was just another developer name on the app store to me. Itā€™s amazing to me that Iā€™ve kept up with it for so long considering I have a tendency to lose interest in most things, but CoGā€™s many many great games, book, stories whatever you want to call them have utterly captivated me. I joined CoG, because of one of those ā€œJoin our forumā€ things at the end of a game. I happened to be sick, stuck at home for days, quit my part time job a few weeks back and thought eh why not. That was late July of 2015, and now nearly a year later I can say that joining CoG was a great decision, due to itā€™s great community , vigilant mods, and the big boss @jasonstevanhill along with the CoG staff that made it all happen. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

If I had one of those.

Hear, hear, @Mirabella!

Now that you mention it, I would also like to thank the CoG community due to the fact that in my 1 year 3 month and a few days (so far) here, I felt accepted even if I can get very annoying and persistent in asking questions (to the point of nearly being banned from the CoG Forum).

And also due to the fact that my questions are very bizarre. To be honest, I actually asked if the unicorn could be killed and what we could do with a dead unicorn.

So, to everyone in the CoG Forum, thank you all for being friendly, open-minded and tolerant (among many others) to me and everyone else. I always feel confortable with you guys.

I wish I could write more about how I appreciate all of this, but Iā€™m not really good with writing, so I apologize if any of my words come out wrong.

So, THANK YOU ALL! :blush::blush::blush:

@EmperorHeartless I first joined (not posting yet, just lurking on the forums) when they only had four official games and a handful of hosted games. I think I wasā€¦ twelve at the time? And now Iā€™m nineteen. And now Iā€™ve made everyone here feel old. Sorry. The official games were Dragon, Broadsides, Romance (just the first installment), and Vampire. That seems like such a long time agoā€¦

@Cecilia_Rosewood Yes, the mods definitely deserve a shout-out.

@NJG At least your unicorn-killing inquiry was not as bad as our questions about the charactersā€™ BDSM preferences. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@Zolataya I just like it when guys treat me like a princess. Or rather, when they recognize the fact that I am a princess.

I-ā€¦ ā€œThank youā€ comments? Those are not my specialty. Not even something Iā€™m average at.

ā€¦ But whatā€™s the worse that could happen?

Ahem, Iā€™d like to say I was a natural when I first joined the forum, that I always knew what to say, was tactful about anything I said and that everyone loved me. In reality, it was far different. I had a lot of people help me when I first joined, to show me the ropes and all. Some of them are not here anymore, and I miss them, the ones that didnā€™t leave, however, Iā€™d like to think we are friends.

The benefits were not only in the internet, my RL persona changed quite a bit. Before joining, talking to someone that I wasnā€™t close to without stuttering was a miracle, after a year here, I could become a public speaker.

This community changed me, for the better, I should think.

And Iā€™d like to thank everyone here for that.

There can only be one.

I would like to say this is true, but as of late Iā€™ve seen anything slightly off topic flagged and or deleted. This was for a while an awesome forum, one where you could have these type of conversations and not have to worry about it being ā€œtoo off topicā€. Iā€™m still going to stick around however. I enjoy the work done here and I want to eventually put out my own. I just hope things around here ease up a bit.

Anyone can flag a post. It doesnā€™t necessarily mean the poster is being struck down by the mods with a furious vengeance.

I liked your chaos apple post, by the way.

There was a lot of mimes and such posted in avalanchesā€¦ what you are referencing, I see as a reaction to the vast quantities of those being pushed at almost every posting.

I think we need to clarify what is meant by ā€œdonā€™t go off topic.ā€ Iā€™ve always thought it meant you can say one or two off-topic things as long as you donā€™t drag the entire thread off the rails or detract from the conversation. Some people think it means everything you say must be directly related to the topic. What do the rules say about this?

Edit: Now that I think about it, this conversation is probably off-topic. But it is something that needs to be worked out.

It wasnā€™t just meme posting. Iā€™ve seen conversations that had a bit of joking around in it which included the op of the thread, and a mod told them to stop and if they went off topic again the thread would be locked. Thatā€™s a little heavy handed. If the op has a problem with the posts in their thread then they will say so, but they didnā€™t so I donā€™t see the need for intervention in this case. Theyā€™re several times where I made posts that were still on topic with the conversation going on, and they were flagged and hidden. Itā€™s becoming a little ridiculous.

But the mod-gods are not angry with so we are good.

I dunno. I was always taught that when it comes to moderator actions and decisions that when I disagree with them or have questions on them I talk in a PM with the moderators or the admins.

If you havenā€™t already done so, Iā€™d definitely open a convo with someone you have a rapport built up with and get clarification - it really sounds like clarification would help here.

And the fact that you can do that is one of the great things about this place.
