Yeah this is actually still true. I’ve found the community for my works to be quite relaxed and funny, which is very ironic considering the dark subject matter of the book. Maybe the lack of large numbers of ROs actually helps with that, as most of the arguments about IF rest in the romance.
I think the most contentious thing is whether or not the usurper is “right” and what level of vengeance is warranted. Haven’t seen a single Sobik Stan in any of these threads lol.

The number of ROs seem to correlate with how many arguments people seem to get into.
But so do the amount of siblings, like Sword of Rhivenia where people constantly argue on who is the best sibling, who can be the most trusted, who is a shithead. Ahh, how fun those arguments were…

Elya isn’t awful. And neither is Darin. Or Milon, Lada, or Obren. Father Miljenko and Berserker Ranger are pretty cool dudes too.
@Randor_Kutsarin I think it also helps that Elya is always nice and genuine to the Marshal (and if she isn’t it’s because you started it by going the Usurper route), and Vedran always betrays you (whether he feels remorseful or not is what the relationship value determines). That and you have the option to usurp Elya, kill Vedran (quickly, slowly, or have Velinor plant an arrow in his skull while he monologues), and steal Vedran’s BF.

I like to kill Vedran as the weapons master, by wounding him during his betrayal. Gets him off the board and out of the way of things, and does it in a perfectly reasonable and unobjectionable way at a time when nobody is going to have an issue with it.

I have too many to put in that had only 1 (always did shotgun wedding FO2, put her in power armor to keep her safe).
If the story and characters hit Favorite list. I do multiple runs.
Really depends on how much was done to make it the best. Multiples were mostly more recent events.

I get the Massacre event and scare the Rade event. Im tiny and not intimidating either. Underestimated a lot. That wont happen in Book 2 me thinks.
Destroyed 3 armies, killed a ‘Giant’ (very short)
Side note.
The Duke Milon is technically safe where he is anyway. Proper defense of his walls limits the horse archers. While his longbowmen are bit harder to deal with for the horse archers.
I took his canons first time around. Each time too. No reason not to. Id rather Rade not have them from Book 1

The people who are awful are pretty unambiguously awful. The issue is never whether or not the awful people are or are not terrible, but rather to what extent do they deserve blame and what “justice” is necessary.
