I, the Forgotten One Release Thread (1.2)

Is this the first cohesion check? If so you should be able to win based on the numbers. There may be some sort of error.

Congrats, I don’t know why you were failing but good job nonetheless lol.

yeah, it definetly doesnt work anymore. Bacon updated the game like an hour after I posted it, so the guide was quite short-lived lol.
(at least the decreased the price for light cavalry)

If I can figure out wtf I did to get victory, I’ll edit your guide and repost, if you don’t mind. I just need to figure out what I did first, lol.

Just hit the census after all that and half of my army is dead or wounded. Ouch.

I love The Marshal's dry wit....

HAHAHAHAHA! Elya and Kveta make a good team.

And, holy hell, Elya just walked in and handed Vedran his ass on a platter. Then told him he could still be killed. If that’s warm-hearted Ellie (she’s at 79% warmth), I’d hate to see cold, heartless Ellie! Well, actually I’d love to see it…

I don’t know that this will be the canon run for Kveta because she tends to be a softie at the most unexpected of times (plus, having Milon in her life is making her, dare I say it, hopeful and happy), but I couldn’t resist verbally bitch-slapping Mira…

Fuck you, Mira...

The fact that she’s surprised is kind of hilarious after what she did to a fucking child.

No, Milon, it is not your smoothest of moments, but you're adorkable...

God I love that moment. Fuck around and find out. Love that Elya and Marshall can be a terrifying duo. I got the second ending and damn if I won’t be her shield in the second book while all shit comes down.

Oh yes I have warm Ellie too. She must be a savage in the cold route.

Here you go.

Weapons Battle/Some achievements guide.

Mouse the warrior:
Weapons Style
Tell the nobles about Sobik.
Tell Elya option 3
Take the Lance instead of the Spear.
Grab Darin
Charge off to the side and then fall back to the walls.
Tell Elya option 2 or 3
Normal Walls fight
Tell Elya option 3 or 4
Take Darin’s choice for the sick.
Regimentation.
Tell Elya it’s enough.
War is hell for achievement.
Talk to priest for later achievement if religious.
No looking for lost nobles.
Let Elya take the lead for introductions.

IMPORTANT CHOICE
Choose the second option to give support to Elya if she is at leadership 5.

Recruitment Choices:
3 Archers
2 Light Cavalry
1 Infantry

The most optimal choice here is to build up defenses and then do the archer trap. For my own difficulty I will do setting up traps and having my archers skirmish backwards. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, please choose Defenses and Archer trap. I am doing an unoptimal run for the sake of giving everyone a chance for success. The choices you should be making during this battle are the same either way so the guide will still work for archer trap defense.

If you are playing a religious character talk to the priest and undergo reconciliation for an achievement. If you are doing romances talk with Obren/Lada/Milon of your choice. Otherwise none of these desicions play a part on the battling aspect.

Save Dismas, or your soldiers, or Lada if you want an achievement. If you solely care about making sure you win 100% with the best possible army save your soldiers and leave both of them alone. To save Dismas choose the option to save him and keep your shield.

Shoot back at the enemy with your archers and let Elya give the order.

Don’t attack the party either join or leave.

Send your cavalry over the crossing.
Send Cavalry to the woods, send all your men they’ll do something funny later.
Ride out to inspire the troops.
You should have won now. Congrats. Send all your cavalry after them to decimate them.

Because you are a weapons marshall you can attack freely and if you hate vedran make him lose an eye.

Skipping a bunch of choices because they don’t matter.

Choose the Shorter path to Krorid.

Skipping more dialogue until you get to Moren

Too much of a stir choice and bluntly admitting you would rather see Tomos.

Choose your own drip for my character I chose Plate and warhammer to be a tiny female Robert Baratheon.

Choose to do Formation fighting.

3 Veterans from the war
1 light cavalry
1 infantry → Retinue

Skipping Dialogue as it is not important to achievements nor the battle.

Charge the enemy and artillery with your rangers.
Don’t have to worry about battle with weapons as it does it automatically.

FINAL BATTLE TIME
Retinue in the Center
Rangers in the Back
Drive off enemy cavalry with archers.
Turn our focus to the cavalry on the right.
Send the cavalry on the left to intercept.
Shoot the enemy archers with your own, send in the right group of cavalry to flank the enemy line.
Refocus your archers onto the enemy Infantry. Send light Cavalry to flank the enemy line, and pull men from the rear.
Join the Infantry and use your hammer to Unga Bunga. Or choose to charge with cavalry and kill your horse. Monster.

Congrats you won the final battle, enjoy the rest of the game.

Edit: I just did this run as of the newest update so it should work. In fact the guide can also be applied to Leadership and tactics both as I chose largely decisions that didn’t rely on my specialization and was able to win. So if you want to win without really caring about much here you go.

Kveta is like 5 feet tall. I thought about putting her in plate and then laughed about it and went with the brigandine. Gave her the warhammer, though. It’s incredibly satifying to see her crushing enemies to death.

I think this is the way I went the last time to get the win. No way will I kill Umm (Kveta’s horse), though!

I’ll run through it again after I get to the end. I’m playing sporadically between shit I have to do for work. Grrr.

I really wish you cpuld press Elya more about Mira. When Mira insults you in front of Elya she asks her to stop, but you can’t say anything about the fact that she keeps doing things like sending Mira to fetch you. I really want the opportunity to say something like “I know she’s your mother, but I will not tolerate speaking to her anymore, and you need to keep us seperated, and you should think about how much you trust someone who chops children’s fingers off.”

It’s not well known Mira maimed the Marshal. Belos makes some comments that he wouldn’t make (out of politeness if not care) had the family known who dishonored the Marshal (choose “My reasons are my own” for informing the nobles of the king’s death). Even when talking to someone (Dismas) who would not pass judgment on the Marshal for the circumstances of their dishonor, they are cagey and say “Family” instead of “Mira”. Heck, I don’t think Darin knows.

I never understood why that was. Telling everyone who would listen that Mira did it because the Marshal is a bastard would be a damned pleasure. And I’m pretty sure I remember Kveta telling someone that Mira did it. I’ll have to make sure to pay extra attention on my next run, now that the weapons specialist route is sorted to not result in utter shit.

Spoilery Coronation Question ig:

Does anyone still get a subject stepping forward to object Elya and say “you slaughter your own subjects!” when you picked the option to ‘extort’ when you needed supplies from the villages and punish anyone who does more than that?

This is normal, you either have to pay for the food or go the short route.

Ah ok! Def seems that I ruined my chance at ‘total loyalty’ not by actual slaughter, but by being frugal lol. Thank you!

Can anyone tell something more about how to get 4?

I’m glad to see our minds align on Mira.

If my MC could’ve, she would have slit Mira’s throat and left her in the spoiled wine casket the night she was alone in the wine cellar with Mira, and she called the night she mutilated the MC “the best day of her life.”

You have to lose the battle, best way is to try and shoot the cav on the left without enough archers and then dont send your cavalry on the left to deal with them when they are cutting apart your troops. Keep retinue in the center and basically do nothing the entire battle but retreat.

To keep Elya’s leadership strength low you have to baby her, don’t take any option that suggests she needs to grow up or stay calm and focus, or that you will help her be stronger.

Cold Elya is vicious and as glorious as Warm Elya. She also doesn’t mince words with Vedran or Archbishop Wrido. While I prefer Warm Elya for the theme of “kind does not mean weak”, Cold Elya is fun and wonderful too.

I know there’s quite a few great guides on here, but i’ve done a bit of testing and come up with the optimal way to not lose. Managed to pull a win from a 13450 vs 6800 battle, so now I’ve just got to test the limits of how much you can crush Rade. I haven’t been able to check the code so please correct me if I’m wrong on the numbers. Similar to BlindSwift’s guide it’s neutral on specialization, all of them should work.

General Thoughts/Guide
  • Telling the Nobles costs you 200 cav, and committed to Belos’s charge costs you another 200 cav. For a free 400 heavy cav don’t do either of these
  • Dont listen to Obren’s plan for the consumption he’s a nerd.
  • High Strength Elya gets you more troops, and if you give her support with the Baron you can squeeze out some heavy cav. It’s already been mentioned a lot but I thought i’d rehash it here. You can certainly win with a low strength Elya, though you will have a smaller army and it’s a bit more difficult.
  • Always get 1.5 light cav(3 Points total)from the Baron. Imo you don’t need more since they aren’t hugely useful at higher numbers. As with the other guides, get 2 archers. Rest is up to you really.
  • Regimentation the GOAT
  • Seizing the crossing helps out with keeping your light cav alive. Not necessary though.
  • Archer trap best, etc etc.
  • Short route does take a chunk out of you but its better.
  • Recruitment wise, my preferred is 2 upgrades, 4 infantry, 2 rangers. This gets you enough to stop both charges from the enemy cavalry, if you put your rangers with the archers.
  • Charging down the hill is cool but you lose too many rangers and have to pay for it down the line.
Final Battle

Make sure to have at least 4 units of rangers and have recruited the 2 units of archers from the Baron. Put them together in the back line.
Keep your retinue together, the cohesion bonus is kind of irrelevent.
Shoot the cavalry when they attack. Free achievement for this.
Otherwise don’t commit your cavalry and do whatever. I like to shoot at Rade which lowered my casualties slightly, but not noticably.
Send your right cavalry when you can.

The last important thing is to charge with your reserve cavalry and then you just kind of win. Rade can’t stop you and the cavalry on the right will break through. From a 6800 vs 12050 battle I got around 2100 dead/wounded for 8000. I don’t have the stats for the 13000 battle because I am stupid and restarted before I saw it :smiling_face_with_tear:

The unfortunate conclusion from my testing is to (most of the time) win the battle from a poor situation, you need to sacrifice your horse. If you are losing or the cohesion battle is equal, say goodbye to your horse. Keep your left cavalry during the battle and charge with them. Orban will be good and distract Rade’s cavalry, and you have free roam to roll up their flank. Most of the time they should break and congrats, you won!

I’ve lost count of my replays but never get Total Victory and ARM. I don’t know whether I don’t recruit right or I’m just not cruel enough. And tbh it’s not worth losing my horse over.

ARM and TV are concurrent (if you get one you got the other. ARM always gets TV, but not all TV is ARM). ARM and V/DB are supposed to go hand in hand (since Rade’s army is teeny tiny if you get ARM). ARM is tied to Tactics specifically (choose Defenses and Tactics for the encirclement). Did you follow BlindSwift’s guide?

If there is one thing I can say runs through all our veins it is hate (or at least distaste) for Mira.

I don’t care how tragic your backstory is, you don’t get to permanently maim a child and ruin their life then have everything forgiven by being sad. I genuinely can’t understand empathizing with Mira though for real, like, I understand her being upset about her husband cheating on her, but how can you spin that around into a hatred so strong that rather than just threatening things or having the kid sent off you instead chop off a seven year old’s fingers yourself. A uniquely twisted and cruel one that is.
