Right. Its tactically sound to eliminate everyone at once.
Wisdom behind it, yeah, no, there is far better solutions. War is last resort, and people f’d up very badly.

I mean yes, we see it’s not exactly smooth sailing for him in the ending where the Marshal dies. Still, he does get his ducks in a row in a few years, and it is only Darin who throws a spanner in his works.
As for dynasty not lasting more than generation or two… i’m not sure if Rade even cares about it. He’d be long dead when it’d potentially happen.
Yep hes far from long term planning capable.
OK, yeah, if there’s one thing that’s made blatantly obvious, this guy has absolutely no long-term planning whatsoever
It’s amazing just how screwed the Realm is with Usurper Marshal and Rade both running around
He’s not a master of logistics, either, which kind of goes into that long-term planning problem. In the chapter 9 route where you go all guerrilla warfare on his ass, you see that he has very few, if any troops guarding provisions, supplies, and his camp. Most armies at least have a decent amount of guys set up as a rear guard to prepare for things like that, and seeing that his army outnumbers ours by a few thousand no matter what, it seems like a reasonable precaution to take, one that he didn’t. Hell, he was one of the commanders during the border war, he must have seen tactics like this yet when we hit him like that, he’s caught completely flat-footed
Running through a list of various combatants in that situation, you have the Marshall and their people, you have rade and his people, you have Elya and her people, you have foreigners getting dragged into the mix, and you probably also have opportunistic nobles who figure they can also get something out of it somehow. Vedran, As well, now that I think about it, if he’s still breathing and has little respect for you. Admittedly, I don’t see anybody joining him because of how much of a fuck up he is, but he’s still there and probably still wants your head
Just played as female MC, Marshal Collette w/ my trusty horse Chestnut. She’s a tactics MC. I enjoyed the game a lot.
Anyways, at the river I tried the traps option and am experimenting with it. The first time I sent my light cavalry to cross and attack the rebel camp. The second I held them back and watched my left flank tunnel into the enemy. I then assumed I could send my light cavalry to reinforce the second crossing but that option was greyed out. Weird. Anyone know what that’s about?
You only get one chance more or less so if you chose not to do it at the coremeect point in the battle you dont get to do it at all if memory serves.
does anyone have any info about the potential new ro in the next book?
Absolutely not, whether that character even is going to exist in that next game, we don’t know, it’s just a possibility
Makes sense but seemed like whichever I chose, I couldn’t then send them to reinforce the crossing
If your MC gets the request for reinforcements as long as you have your knights free to commit you should get the option to send some to the secobd crossing.
Thanks. Looks like I have to keep my knights in reserve then I can send them to reinforce the second crossing. Idk if this is affected by choosing defensive vs wait for them to commit before flanking. I wonder which is more efficient for slaughtering the army the rebels. If I send light cavalry to flank, they’re exhausted when they come back. Then when the rebels flee I can send my knights or “all the cavalry” which I’m unsure if it’s the knights + light cavalry or simply all my light cavalry. I still haven’t found the best way to slaughter the most while doing Trap + Tactics
I forget where but there are guides for the battles and different options depending on what acheivements your going for. To tired to recall in detail what it takes to get the most kills lol but its multi faceted.
The guides are scattered throughout the thread. BlindSwift’s written several, as have I. I wonder if there is a way to create a masterpost that contains all of them.
@gamesrgreat
Obren is canonically gay, yes.
Also I romanced the Duke but afterwards I wish I didn’t lol. I was hoping to back out of the romance. The guy brings too much weird energy early on. I found myself hoping and wishing we could romance Obren instead but I guess he’s not an option for female MC’s?
Romances dont flesh out til second book or in my case, start in second. Flirtations are supposed to be there if want Duke.
Men might go further with Obren, uncertain, dont touch mens side of stories. He might be the only one to flesh out? The “duchess” would probably not flesh out til second too.
Obren is gay so yeah, he’s only option for male MCs.
Milon, Lada, and Obren are pretty “fleshed out” in book 1 IMO. Unless by “fleshed out” you don’t mean “the romance is very detailed and has a lot of mutual character development for both the RO and the Marshal”.
