My name is Jack, and I am posting this to get some introductory information! Finding this company again is a huge throwback. I was obsessed with the ‘choice of’ games in middle school. I remember playing Choice of Dragon on my tiny iPod, and playing it over and over to try every choice. These games are what got me interested in interactive stories and games, and I went to college specifically to study game design.
Seeing that they now offer the opportunity to publish your own works and earn from them is amazing! I am super interested in getting involved with the community and getting back into narrative writing.
If you have any tips on where to start, your favorite works to read, or what the general step-by-step is to publishing, please let me know! (For example, I’ve noticed that WIPs are big, when should they be posted and what should they include?)
Also, I primarily work with code, so I am not too worried about learning the language. Maybe as my first venture I could team up with an author and help with the coding aspect. Who knows B)
Welcome to the community. Jack. What genre do you prefer as far as COGs go? I’ve not played Choice of Dragons, but I’m guessing it’s fantasy. Currently, my favorite is Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, by Jim Datillo. He’s pretty active on the beta thread on this site. I can’t imagine with your coding background, that you will have any difficulty finding authors to work with. However, if you decide to write on your own, I’ll look forward to reading your work. Cheers bud.
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll honestly read anything if it’s interesting enough, but I’m a sucker for any story where the protagonist goes on some kind of big adventure. Also the occasional romance, if I’m being honest.
Thank you, hope to see you around!
