Okay all the romances I’ve found so far, Simon, Daniel, Adam, Cormac, Kitty, Claudia and Aine. I recommend deciding which one you want from the beginning and sticking with it I doubt there’s Poly coded in.
In the flashback scenes of the first two chapters, it’s possible to romance Claudia, Cormac, Kitty, or Simon, although it’s more a flirtation and a promise than an actual relationship. You can have a crush on Áine or Daniel, but nothing ever comes of it. After Simon’s death, any romance you were in at that point ends abruptly.
In the present, it’s possible to end up with Adam, Áine, Claudia, Cormac, Daniel, or Kitty.
All romances are monogamous.
Yeah the beginning romance do end but I still recommend to start your romances early as they get frequently mentioned later on and it is far easier to start a relationship with them if you had that initial one, except for Daniel, Adam and Áine as these romances can only start later as adults.
I found this, too. Did you go with a character that was primarily based on Physical stats and skills? In my playthrough, those seemed to be extremely rare skill checks. As a result, I was constantly failing checks, leading to fewer experience points, which in turn lead to a weaker character that was never able to catch up to the required thresholds.
I may restart the game with a Social or Intellectual character to see how significantly that changes things. Off the top of my head, the only physical challenges I remember encountering were firing a shotgun at the very beginning of the game and climbing a tree a chapter or two later, and possibly climbing on a roof, though I failed that skill check twice. Maybe there are more physical checks later on, but I’d failed so many checks – and felt so detached from my character as a result – that I ended up just quitting around what felt like the midpoint.
The writing’s quite good, but the skills checks in choices felt very discouraging, especially when compared to the previous White Wolf games. And, unless I somehow missed it, there’s no explainer for stats and skills, no toggle to display which are being tested in choices and no checkpoint system allowing you to replay chapters. It seemed very easy to fall into a fail state you couldn’t escape from.
Game was very good.
One piece of critique - the achievements about killing and ambushing a vampire don’t work. Same with shooting a werewolf with a silver bullet (I think) - I shot one with holy relics and killed him and didn’t get any achievement.
If you’ve found a likely bug, it’s best to contact support@choiceofgames.com and explain the issue in as much detail as possible, with screenshots if possible. Most authors and editors don’t spend a lot of time reading threads here, so email is the most reliable way to make sure they see your issue.
I was wondering if there is going to be a storyteller mode implemented?
Just out of curiosity is there any poly relationships?
No.
Something like that would be great. It’s really not good game design when you’re constantly looking at the code before making every choice, something I’ve been doing a lot with this one
What are the ROs in the game? I mean, from what I remember, there are ROs in the story, so I would like to know hehe
This was discussed upthread.
how do you get the relic? also do you know to get the second edge? I’ve only managed to get first and third.
Ive finally figured it out the second edge is the one you get depending on which group you’ve aligned yourself with, I got mine when helping my chosen group acquire a certain book and it changes depending on the group
This is helpful as my friend and I spent days speculating that somehow Simon would be a ghost romance if we triggered the content properly lol
Outside of that, easily one of my favorite COGs that have been put out. I would highly recommend this to everyone that enjoys interactive fiction. I’m still diving in and finding all sorts of new content I missed the first two times around. Groghan’s writing also gives us so much space to really make them our character, while also allowing them to feel firm and important in the narrative. I really love that.
My one issue is probably one that’s more broadly a concern for these WoD games–I struggle with the sheer amount of leveling up and strategy that goes into using skill points. Storyteller mode would help a bit with that. I hope future games finds a way to streamline or make leveling up feel less clunky.
Before I dive into the game, do you have some advice or tips for me?
I’d say it’s smart to lean into one approach to problems–persuasion, force, or techy stuff–and focus leveling up solely for those methods.
This game has interesting content if you fail. Don’t panic when you do, because you likely will.
Focus on one romance early–Aine, Cormac, Claudia, and Kitty from childhood on; and Daniel once he shows up as an adult. Idk how to trigger Adam’s content, though I apparently got that option my first run. I also did not know who he was lol
To romance Adam, you have to impress him during the meeting with Tottenham.
So question if anyone might know the answer the end for my playthrough didn’t mention what happened to Cormac. I took in Niamh and Cormac lived, but did he join the pack or go nuts or did I just totally miss something?
Hello,
Is Hunter’s Arsenal Edge used anywhere?
