This was really good, and it is going to feel like a very long wait until release.
Aaaaargh! I cannot wait until December! I could see some bugs and stuff, but I’m guessing they’re being fixed as we speak. I’m super jealous of the beta players and cannot wait to buy the game once it releases!
Wait there is a beta going on already
Demo was fantastic, trying to force all my friends to play it. Already got two planning on buying it at release!
Does anyone know if Daniel has his own kiss scene after being chased by the Beast? I’ve been able to see Cormac’s romantic and platonic variations, Claudia’s, Kitty’s, and Simon’s. Can’t seem to get Daniel’s at all, if he even has one.
Daniel doesn’t have a cave scene like the others do from what I can see in the code. Cormac is the default if you don’t have high relationship (or romantic crush which there is no flag for it with Daniel) with any besides Daniel. He does have a flirt flag latter on like Aine but that’s it. My guess is that he is not a ro at least not a full one
This demo was super good! Very excited for the final polished product, once all the little typos and bugs are cleaned up (there’s a bunch of little things I saw like hanging code brackets, text that never fires because of slightly mistyped variable names, that sort of thing).
One thing that did stand out to me is how… blasé clergy PCs can be about like, going off to buy drugs and such. IMO there should be a bit more of an internal reaction to blatantly commiting crimes as a man/woman of God.
I mean I thought so! If the game releases in 2 months, there’s no way the beta isn’t open, right?
What are the chances we can go full modern day knight inquisitor gear like the entity from that one trailer
Will it go well against a werewolf, absolutely not, but it would look cool
If you join up with the Society of Leopold maybe you get that kind of equipment, nah it wouldn’t go well against werewolf because the armor and the equipment are way too heavy and it made you an easy target
The Vampire games already have some stuff in between.
It took me a bit to get started from the beginning pages alone (but that’s ADHD for you, not even on the author) but I really liked it! Love a game that starts with giving you playable context of why you should care for a place/person/etc and playing as kids growing and building memories (I am currently doing that in my werewolf game and got surprised for how it is done so well here). I also liked the friends you made and DAMN old lady in charge of an Irish mob family? We love to see.
I will say some of the choices go way too extreme on their perceived structure of good, neutral, and mean (to the character we’re talking to), to the point that neutral will feel mean at times with how uncaring it can be (this mainly on the kid section). Like sometimes you have to choose between being friendly and an open book, unfriendly/untrusting but polite, or almost kicking puppies. And when you’re part of a group of people and you act ‘polite’, it feels cold (and, well, mean). Even that reality check with Cormac after he says what he feels about his friends is mean, just not as mean as the actual mean option.
But overall I really liked it and I can’t wait for it to come out!! Gotta find out what’s happening and gotta save friends!!
(Edited post to fix weird typos. Must have inhaled some fungi)
Kicking puppies is on Wednesday.
Does anyone know how to get Simon’s romance? For some reason I always only get Cormacs.
Spend time with Simon every chance you get and agree with him when there’s a difference of opinion. You don’t have to be mean to Cormac, but don’t go out of your way to bond with him either.
I found a reference to the beast of Glenkildove in W:TA The Book of Hungry Names, which I’m reading and re-reading until I get more CoG Werewolf the Apocalypse games.
And now I’m even more excited for this game!
So how big is Glenkildove, actually? Is it like a town, or closer to a village-size place?
The downside of this demo coming out as early as it did is that I’m sitting here struuuuuuggling to make it to December. I need to play this now
I told myself I wouldn’t think about this game until December arrived, and now it has, but there are still 18 days to go! Ugh!
Great, now you just reminded me that even though I have 17 days to wait with, the release date is still going to adhere American timezone so it will be 18 days…ugh!
I know! Thank goodness for these Westerners and their daylight savings clock shenanigans though. I’ll be done with my morning chores just in time for the book to release. (Provided it releases at midnight. Please God let it release at midnight!)
