Keep it the same and add more opportunities to make money or make the mission reward slightly more
If we somehow leave and choose to return to earth in battle royale, how would armaggeddon work then ?
It⦠wouldnāt at all. Basically, you would completely skip all the events in Armaggeddon, and go to the events in Chapter 4: Overlord. I am also planning on writing some other possibilities for Armageddon, where you can āescapeā the main storyline and return to Earth (even before the end of the book). So, these two threads would then lead to Overlord⦠does this make sense?
Ok, based on the polls above so far today I have:
-Added a new possibility for inventors (and non inventors also) to make and sell weapons at the weapons store. This was something that was asked before by a number of players, and I think it makes a nice addition to the game. The amount of money you can make depends on what weapons you can make and the resources you have (higher INT+eng means better weapons, which are sold at a higher mark-upā¦)
-Based on the poll so far, I will likely make it that you start to have the possibility to āleaveā the game somewhere in the last 1/3 of the game or so⦠Iām concerned that if I let players leave ātoo earlyā many will complain that the game was too short (I mean, yes, you want to leave and return to Earth, but as a reader you may nevertheless feel cheated if the game is too shortā¦)
Iād be a bit worried about that one. Is it likely to have enough of a payoff to leave early at the expense of leaving before the original game was done?
Is there any chance of a character being able to take on the lanista without help?
My current plan is to just code one fight sequence, that can be used in both Battle Royale and Armageddon. The stats for the Lanista wont change, but then if you are alone it means you will have to bear the full brunt of the Lanistaās power (as opposed to if you attack with others). My plan is to also code a situation where you either set up an ambush or wait -in Armageddon- for a moment where the Lanista has become slightly weakened. But, the main fight sequence should stay the same, so then it will just depend on what difficult you are playing (and/or how many cheat codes are being used), and your skill at the choices available, etcā¦
Otherwise, the big news today is that I āfinishedā writing the sequence to leave the planet! I need to playtest it a bit myself, but hoping to send to CoG in a few days, hopefully by the end of this week if not earlierā¦
Does anyone know what the skills and their specific numbers are to save Mastha? Iām having a little trouble saving it
Hi, the code is below⦠so, you need to have a medpack, a first aid skill greater than 70 and alien technology greater than 30⦠not really that easy⦠but she is rather injured at that pointā¦
*selectable_if ((medpack =1) and ((first_aid >70) and (alien_technology >30)))
you were a great help, thank you very much (and keep up the amazing games )
@adrao Do you think it would be possible to add something similar to āLife of a Space Force Captainā where if you are in a same gender romance and wanted children, then instead of adopting one, some NPCs you payed for the process (or you buy the device instead) or your MC (if theyāre an Inventor and smart enough) can take both the MC and their LIās DNA and put it in some test tube or chamber where a baby will form and start growing naturally with both the parentās DNA? It feels like it would only be possible during Battle Royal because of the Alien Technology available there.
Hi⦠this is not something Iām immediately contemplating, as it would add more complexity to the game (and is a feature not yet asked by anybody). Note that the events of Genesis and BR take place within a comparatively short period of time, compared to games like āLife of a Space Force Captainā (which are about the life of an individual).
Ah. I didnāt even think that all that happen in so short a time. How long was it though? Like a few months or something?
@Zarkrai each book is a few weeks⦠most of the time you can actually identify the actual days (each day typically something happens, and in the evening you are usually given a chance at a side missionā¦). The reason to write the game this way is to then help me re-structure and expand in the future, if that makes sense.
@yanphi thanks for reporting! Iāve corrected that, although it wonāt be reflected on the game until I send the files to CoG (it is a small bug, which doesnāt change the game, so I normally just wait until there is something bigger until I send to CoG, in order not to swamp them with my emails). But, anything else you find is greatly appreciated!
Late to the discussion, but skipping an entire book feels problematic. Iām not sure that the escape option really fits the storyline pacing.
It does indeed⦠I am also scared of people not realizing that, and then buying the next book, and realizing they have to skip a book (I mean, I can put a big alert in bold, but still it is somehow counter-intuitive). I am also not convinced that the escape option is the best⦠but, at least now there are two clearly different endings. I guess I will have to maybe work a bit harder in book 3 to make them feel more ādistinctā⦠mmmmmmm
Would the book-skipped saves even work, technically speaking?
Not sure, to be honest, Iāve also been thinking what to do in that case⦠mmmmmmmmmm
I personally think that the option to āescape the planetā is a bad choice as it can disrupt the pace of the story, consume time that could be used on something else and I think that most people will not choose to SKIP AN ENTIRE BOOK.
