I’ve already tried several times, but I’ll keep with it for now. I may end up contacting them to try to figure out what the problem is.
I heard this from another couple of backers it doesn’t seem as if Kickstarter has a very good system… you would think it would be better, given how many people use it…
@Eric_Moser Did it ever give you a specific reason it wasn’t working? Mine keeps saying it was “declined by [my] card provider.”
Can someone let me know when the deadline to make my payment is? I’m really trying to figure this out!
I think that paypal provides backers 2 weeks to pay. After that there is a cut-off… anyway, I really appreciate the support, though if you don’t manage please don’t worry (I will be printing 2-3 dozen extra copies for anybody who wants the game after the kickstarter is over). Unfortunately I don’t really know how else to help, as this payment part is nothing to do with me (and it seems you are not the only one having trouble, as other people have messaged me about similar problems).
It tells me it’s seven days from the end of the campaign, which I think means it runs out in the middle of this week.
Kickstarter really doesn’t seem to like me. Is there another way I could transfer the money to you? I’d really like to make good on my pledge in a timely manner.
I finally got my card to be accepted, but then when it was backed, it started pinging me with emails saying the card was declined again. Nothing I could do would convince it otherwise. Kickstarter says it’s a bank issue, bank says it’s a kickstarter issue My money is on kickstarter to be honest considering I’ve never had any issues with the card before or since.
Edit: Weirdly enough I’ve backed stuff on kickstarter in the past without an issue. Must be something more recent they’ve done to the site to cause problems.
@AletheiaKnights @Jacic No worries at all! Anyway, I will be printing the game with the backers that managed to clear things (it seems quite a few people had problems, and reading around on the internet it seems KS has many such problems). If anybody wants a copy once it is printed let me know! (I will post later on the forums once it is printed
)
I’d still like to fulfill my pledge if you have a way, but if not, mark me down to buy it when it becomes available!
Ok, I think that the next thing I need to do is to start to create some branching in Battle Royale. Many have requested this, and it is something that ties in with Armageddon, so I might as well do this now.
My thoughts on this is that I will create 3 new side missions.
-
Trying to find a ship that can take you offplanet. This will require you to have either minions or having found the rebels. I’m not so sure how you could do this if you don’t have anybody else in the planet… any ideas are welcome!
-
(optional) The possibility of fighting the Lanista. This should be extremely difficult, and should involve the player trying to set up some sort of trap together with minions or rebels.
-
Leaving the planet, and a new epilogue to the game… which would then finish in a decision to either return to Earth or go to a new planet.
Any thoughts and comments on any of the above are welcome… I can try to incorporate them into what I already have in mind.
Hey its me again where to begin…
- If you were to fight lanista. First i would think you would starting planning your elaborate trap for lanista from the beginning becuase they are both old and very experienced. So instead of worrying about fighting, hanging out with the fighters and building a relationship with them you would devote your entire time planning this grand trap. Secondly you would work out what the trap would be like for example if you are a engineer that has a high alien tech you could build a emp blast like thing that would weaken them or take away some of their power for a short time. Or if your main stat is psychi and your intelligent stat is high and have study both alien tech or alien biology most likely both. You could build a device that would link your mind to lanista and you could have a battle of the minds with them. The device would help you fight them on a even playing field.
But all of this plotting would hinge on your help, or if your a vampire your minions. In the end tho the trap would take all your minions and your resources to defeat them i.e if you defeat them all your minions would be dead or scattered and your resources depeted. And you could leave them their after the fight, or finish them off, or if your a vampire you could turn them into a thrall or in other words into a minion like you do joo. It would be possible since after the fight they would be near death and this would be your one and only chance. Even then it take all your psyshic power to do so and would almost kill you. You almost definitely would fall unconscious after succeeding. You could then wake up on a ship with lanista that was stolen by them.
Ps. If you turn lanista you wont be able to turn joo. The reason be mainly because both would have advantages and disadvantages. So you would have to choose one. Oh oh one when you turn lanista and are on a ship in space you could go back to earth and get back your first minon the ice women (sorry cant remember her name). And finally be able to properly use her and talk to her. She could also help you with taking planets because she is very powerful. Ok thats all
Given spoilers, is it really feasable to take on the Lanista and beat him up? I kind of like that Lanista is the untouchable holder of your leash so to speak in the game. Gives you something to keep a grudge against if you feel like it going forward.
No one is untouchable. You just gotta find their weaknesses.
Also thats why i said you would be planning this trap from the beginning becuase they are so powerful. Even if the trap goes off it would take everything you have and then some.
For the time being I’m going to focus on 1 and 3, basically leaving the planet… I realized that sometimes I get too ambitious and pile myself many tasks, meaning I get overwhelmed. Basically, I want to finish tasks 1 and 3 before HoV: Supercharged is published on 2nd Nov. Task 2, fighting the Lanista, will likely have to wait until after that… but, thanks for the ideas, I will slowly turn all these in my head!
No problem cant want to see what becomes of 1 and 3
So, continued writing and coding today… so far my thoughts are to make the escape from the planet a money-related matter (i.e. need money to bribe people through somebody you will encounter, and then buy a spaceship).
I thought about making the spaceship 50,000 DECs (my overall philosophy in the game is to try to think as 1 DEC ~ 1 USD (not quite, but something like that). I’m guessing that for 50,000 USD you could buy an old dilapidated truck…
Thoughts?
- Can you even make 50,000 DECs in the game? I’ve never managed…
- That is way too expensive, it should be 20,000 DECs
- Better to make it 10,000 DECs
- Keep it at 50,000 DECs, but give more side mission options to make money
- There should be a way to leave the planet without using money (thoughts?)
- I don’t care about this, as I never want to leave the planet anyway.
- Other (please explain)
And here goes another poll!
From which point in the game you think you should be able to leave the planet?
- Right at the end of the game, just before the Finale of the Battle of Champions starts
- Towards the end, after the fight with Splash Tornado
- Around the middle, sometime after the fight with Earth Rage
- Around the beginning, sometimes after fighting Ruby Psyche
- From the very start. I never liked being in the planet anyway.
- Other (please specify)
