Happy New years :slight_smile: . Anyone got any good New year’s resolutions yet?

I have bought one yet, my one for the last two years was to read more books, and last year I read 114, but I really don’t want to make reading books my New year’s resolution for the third year in a row XD. But eating healthier, losing weight etc etc seem to generic and vague to me, and things you should if you need to do you should ideally be trying to do all the time anyway. You could say that about reading books I guess, but I’ve read more books this year than in my whole life combined, so umm yeah lol.

I would want to make a serious wip, this year as a goal. I wrote more than a half-million words last year. So, it should be the logical step, however, I don’t trust myself so I doubt that I will achieve anything this year, to be honest.

Happy New Year gang! My wish for this year is that all writers that are struggling to write in the forum finally get that burst of inspiration or motivation.
Maybe even I could try my hand at writing. Just need to improve the English and give it a shot.

I’m a bit late, but Happy New year to everyone of you guys. Honnestly this forum is the best of all those i have come across. In all the years i have been a member, i have seeing nothing else but love, hapinness, positivity but above all respect between it’s members. Hope that we will always be here, reading tones and tones of wips and amazing stories. Above all, i hope that 2021 will shine brighter for everyone of you, wherever you are.

Aim for smaller goals (as we keep telling new creators), unless smaller goals won’t make you happy. :sweat_smile: :tea: A serious WIP, however you define it, might not finish in one year, but what if you achieve a significant portion of it this year, is that not considered achievement? :innocent:

I have dried out all minor goals these two last years. I wrote 100k in a month and a half then 50k in a row for two years ago NaNoWriMo. I have participated in more than ten contest 5 jams, write more than ten complete games, more 500kin a year, end second in a contest… So basically, I don’t have anything left to do that start a serious wip.

So, No way I can do that this year, so this year is already a failure.

Have you tried outlining? I seems way easier to write with a clear path than trying to find order in the chaos of pantsing. Or architecting and gardening as GRRM would say.
