Guenevere (WIP)

@jeantown

AAHAHA. Well, Lancelot is pretty charming. Hmmm, exceptions for some dudes…reminds me of why Morgana usually gets banished from Camelot in the myths, for sleeping with Guenevere’s cousin. Though I doubt he or that subplot will appear, lol.

“and she’ll stay that way unless Guen calls her on it at some point.” Oooo. I have to say, it’s a relief to see Morgana not liking that she might find Lancelot attractive, tbh. Most stories have her throw herself all over him and (much like other ladies) stomp on anyone who gets in her way to him. MUCH nicer to see a Morgana who gladly puts ladies before Lancelot and other dudes, even- or especially if- she has some attraction towards him.

“is Arthur, but that can be dealt with, because I would not want to disappoint the A/G/L poly shippers.”

Ahhh this actually reminds me of when I discovered the game- after passing it around my dash, a lot of us were joking about how cute Arthur’s hero worship of Lancelot was, and how it was REALLY reminiscent of the very common ‘young lgbtq kid gets their first s/s crush on a slightly older friend’ thing that happens for a lot of us. Reminded me of mine, anyway!

And that’s interestingggg. I’m very intrigued by the Elaine subplot. That usually always goes the same way in Arthurian stories, so to see a different take, plus the fact that you can make it go different ways, is very exciting.

@jeantown Hahaha, I give up. I had to write a really ugly message to obtain this graph, I can’t do this anymore. Oh, wait, if I just… No no no.
Fair enough for the romance conflicts being shadowy at the moment. I am sure that you will find something interesting to tell us. And for now I will try to imagine how the NPCs will begave, it will be a good distraction.

@thesunfloweramazon I just spent the last five minutes in the most fluffy pictures I have ever seen after a search for “catpile” on Google. *_*

And because I have to scroll up for too long on my phone to find a link to the game:

@poison_mara Mordred will not spend very much of his childhood at Camelot. It will be split between Orkney and Avalon (at least, that’s my current plan). He’ll figure out his parentage pretty quickly, though. He’s a smart kid.

@thesunfloweramazon Glad you’re pleased with all of that. :slight_smile: I don’t have any specific plans for Guiomar or Accolon at the moment, but that doesn’t mean one of them won’t show up in some capacity. There are a lot of details I still haven’t worked out for parts 5 and 6, beyond the main plot points.

I think for my Morgana, it’s a point of pride that she considers herself immune to Lancelot’s charms. She’s not perfect, and there may unfortunately be a little bit of the “not like all those other girls” mentality going on with her in that regard. I think their sibling-like relationship makes her feel a little superior, because he genuinely trusts her in ways he doesn’t trust other people. She’s scared enough of losing or complicating that relationship, that she doesn’t think she wants it to be any other way.

I may have seen some of those tumblr posts go by… at least I remember someone commenting “This ship sails itself,” and I felt that I had succeeded as a writer. :slight_smile: It’s not queerbaiting, either. Everything depends on Guen, though. :slight_smile:

@Tehani Wow, I’m excited that the solar system / catpile / dodecaedron chart is so complex that it can’t be charted in a text window! I feel like I’m doing something right – for a romance game, anyway. :slight_smile: I just hope I can achieve my dream of having lots and lots of different possible relationships with different possible outcomes.

I bought the holdings company, built private shipwrights in Norway, got Swedes to build it and I bought the first ticket. All aboard the S.S. Guen X Morgana!

I ship this, I ship this so hard that I basically made a physical ship of it in the previous description.

And I just want to say I’ve come across a few femslash pairings and GxM is the good kind, a natural chemistry between them that evolves into something more. It doesn’t feel forced at any point.

But every good shipping couple needs a name. Korrasami from Avatar, Doccubus from Lost Girl.

Morguen? Guena? Guengana? Morgen?

I like Morguen myself. Okay, sold. All aboard the S.S Morguen!

@Taiho I am laughing so hard right now, because there is an actual literal ship in part 2 and… well, you’ll have to wait and see, but I hope you’ll remember your post and laugh.

I believe Morguen is the name of choice on tumblr, by analogy with Morgwen from the BBC Merlin TV show. :slight_smile:

Mordred would know who their parents are in his childhood? He would be raisd in camelot

he is awesome, also he would hate Guen as default?

@taiho

I like Guengana, to separate it from Morgwen more. Also it sounds like an awesome sea monster.

@jeantown

Oooh, that makes me so excited to think about part 5 and 6 now even though it’s years off. Prayers that you win the lottery!

D’aaawwww Morgana. Everything about her makes me want to squeeze her tightly. I’m so interested in everything about her and her life and her relationships and. MORGANA MY DARK QUEEN.

And hah, yep! The mark of a true writer is when people start shipping characters that have no romantic interest in each other (yet, lol). It’s an xbox achievement and everything.

@poison_mara That depends on Guen’s personality. He might see her as a useless do-gooder, a means to an end, or a fascinating person who puts him more off-guard than he’d like.

@thesunfloweramazon I really, really hope you’ll like the Morgana stuff that’s in part 2 so far. It’s much more developed (at least, I think it is). And I so wish I could write faster! This thing is ridiculously huge because I want it to be, but wow is it going to take forever… I can’t wait to see how it will turn out!

@jeantown

“fascinating person who puts him more off-guard than he’d like.” For most of my Guens at least, I’m totally ready to show this kiddo how adults play the game. Sit down and you might learn something, son.

Please take your time! I’m excited, but I wouldn’t want you to feel rushed. Take all the time you want to make it as you like it! It’ll make it sweeter when it does come out.

Also, speaking of Guengana, I saw this today and thought it reminded me of them: http://aletheia-nocturne.net/photos/nymphing-in-claret-burgundy/

It is now a thing! Guengana.

And yeah, I sorta imagine them that way as well. But I was kinda thinking more like a mix of magic, Morgana’s knowledge of dark magic combined with my Guen’s knowledge of light.

Morgana has her head in a book while Guen is helping mixing herbs. Morgana can’t make heads or tales of it so while she checks how some ingredients are drying, Guen points out the section she missed and adds the ingredients.
Morgana makes a compliment and a slight smile. That smile makes Guen’s heart skip a beat.

Or after a particularly bad battle, Guen is going around healing the injured while Morgana applies some salve to stop the bleeding. They’re hands may brush a few times and they might stare at each other a few times but it would still be professional between them (at least for now).

Awwwww… too bad that spark between Lancelot and Guen doesn’t happen with Morgana. I assume said spark is something to do with Lancelot growing up in Avalon, right?

@ Taiho

You’re going to send someone to the hospital, just throwing that sort of cuteness without regard of people’s poor hearts!

The spark is because of an attraction potion given specifically to Lancelot (and Guenevere?) not a natural thing. Otherwise Morgana would have it, she grew up on Avalon.

@thesunfloweramazon Hmm, I look forward to hearing about your Guens’ dealings with Mordred. I’m trying not to rush, but I want them to be done, so I can find out exactly how everything can turn out! That’s half the reason I write… I always know what’s going to happen, but I don’t know exactly how it’s going to happen, and the suspense kills me!

@Taiho That’s starting to sound an awful lot like fanfiction (the good kind). :slight_smile: I’m honored! You understand my characters really well, and I love your perspective on them. thesunfloweramazon is correct that the thing with Lancelot is the result of a specific spell, which will be revealed at the end of part 2. Once Guen knows what the spell is, she’ll have to decide what she wants to do about it. In any case, there can be some Guengana sparks in part 2, in spite of the lack of a spell. :slight_smile:

@jeantown

Well, I’m excited to see how it turns out and evolves! It’s sure to be amazing.

@poison_mara

I also forgot, I wanted to link you to this, mara!

This artist does a lot of Mordred art, and even art of Mordred succeeding at taking over Camelot (along with other different endings. Also Guinevere/Arthur/Lancelot art for anyone who likes that too).

@jeantown Great! But I am more from a gothic androgynous Mordred almost a glam Mordred. I don’t like bulky, too manly.

Also about the spell I trust in your amazing plot and writing skills. But I could tell what Poison queen tries to do, maybe help you to take ideas :-?

“First, of course, I have to erase the effects than affect myself. Why I have to cure the hypocrite womanizer? No, he could be so useful, Sadly, I am merely a good black magic user, I haven’t the Morgana skills to black Magic. But I am good in one thing persuasion. And Morgana is so certain in my love for her, as foul as her merlin’s puppet brother. I could make her change effects to make Lancelot my useful puppy eating with my hands. If not, there are other ways, like poison and a blonde problem to the grave.”

“Arthur has bought me cheap. But when I promise did the best of this land, I was being sincere for once. Britain would be stronger, and the origin of a new empire beyond the sea. But clearly the child in throne is to pantsy doing what have to be done.”

I’m sorry, I feel like I’m just barging into the fray but

@jeantown “That depends on Guen’s personality. He might see her as a useless do-gooder, a means to an end, or a fascinating person who puts him more off-guard than he’d like.”

Aww maaan, does that mean my dutiful (albeit badass) Guen who genuinely wants to be a good queen won’t catch Mordred’s eye? :frowning: Or will my badassery be enough? As I’ve mentioned, I’ll probably separately play a different, a little more evil-ish Guen to get Mordred, but I still want my own Guen to be able to enjoy her time with Mordred while she has the chance. :> I’ll probably make her “fall” for his charms for just a second, though without any prospect of actually betraying Arthur. That is, if Mordred doesn’t see her as a “useless do-gooder”… :’(

I really want a Mordred only for selfish bad karma players 99% romances in games need being a goody goody boring hero saving girls in problems. But I suppose a good Guen NEVER fall or flirt with Mordred @CrayFoPottah . BECAUSE
1 Flirt with your own husband’s incestuous bastard child is not morally good.
2-If you cheat your husband you are an evil princess, period.
3- Worse, you only flirt with your husband, son and teased him badly than you do the hypocrite speech I can do your father is my husband and I want to be loyal …
4- You become your husband bastard son cougar when you still are banging his father and probably his mom too?

As you see, if you did any of that you are an evil son of bit**. :)) There is no way romance him being good. Is your husband incestuous bastard son no way!

@poison_mara … Whoa. Okay. Thank you so much for the revelation. You make an excellent point. I don’t think that was quite what I meant to convey, let me change that; I think I’d still like to see my own goody Guen getting flirted at BY Mordred, as in one-way flirting from Mordred only, even though she wouldn’t give in to his schemes still. Mordred just sounds pretty cool to me (I kinda have a thing for bad guys), albeit horribly repulsive in nature, and I’d like it if my Guen still managed to interest him even if she isn’t really evil, because if she did, that would really say something about her character, besides gaining me satisfaction from knowing that Mordred liked my Guen. It’s just me who wants to see Mordred flirt at my Guen, whereas my Guen would still righteously view the prospect of joining his side as heinous and immoral and would never side with him no matter how he was like. Does that make sense? :-S

Ah, yes, it makes sense for me. My personal bet since my humble role play perspective.Is he would flirt with All Guen even if he doesn’t be really attracted with your Guen. Due
1- an ally Guen could be so useful for him.
2-Even if you don’t fall for him, he could spread rumors or blackmail you.
3-If he conquest you he make his dad suffer and if you bang his mother too.
