This was great! I loved the wagers (I won an obelisk!) and the emojis as tokens. I also appreciated the vizier cheering me on.
If I had any complaints, itâd be that I wish there was a way to toggle the token placement info onto the same page as the movement options â during the early/middle part of the game, when I was delaying sending tokens ahead so I could send the opponentâs tokens back to home base, having to visit the other page to see the map slowed the pace of the game.
It also might be nice to have the rules on the stats page. I, uh, might have gotten a bit too much into insulting the other king and accidentally missed learning how to play the first time.
Thanks for the feedback, and Iâm glad you enjoyed playing the game! Itâs also cool to hear that my idea of using emojis for tokens worked out (I was scared to death they would either show up as empty squares on some phones or be too tiny to differentiate for some folks).
The tip about instructions was quite useful, thanks. I might put a link to them on the âlook at boardâ page for folks like you who missed them the first time However, I did work pretty hard to make sure that the player can only make legal moves during each turn, so you donât HAVE to know the instructions too well to play
PS - I made a crude paper version of Senet to play at home with my wife, and I got to say, the game is insanely fun to play (even not in CS text format)! Pretty sure this is one of the greatest all-time two-player games in ever invented.
