Hmm a compromise between family and RO would be something like Family friend who was practically family or something along those lines.

Like if one of the Mc’s aunts/uncles married a woman/man who had a kid already from a previous relationship or something?
I think the family friend angle is doable and less weird for certain people.

Yes, that could work out. We would have someone who might know about our MC before he joined the ranks of an agent and before our MC became BB. As we aren’t related by blood, an RO could work out.
I will probably open up a poll.

I wonder if our family will play more of a role later down the story. It doesn’t seem like it but a villain MC could be rather angry at how his parents just went along with him being dead rather easily and obviously didn’t care.
