I…did not realize that when my Sidestep woke up it wasn’t her till reading these comments. That is the second Hosted Game series book that I’ve read so far this year that ended with my MC in a different body. It’s not much, but it’s weird it happened twice. Hmm.
How did you get that ending with Herald? When I romance d Herald I ended up in a cell : (
You can’t get outed as the villain
I suspect it can be achieved this way :
You go as Mc , you do not tell ortega about Mc’s alterego, you wake up as Mc
Summary
Okay, so there is actually a way around this, don’t shake HG’s hand! Unless your telepathy stat is high enough, shaking their hand locks you into saying yes, easiest way around that is to just decline, saying ‘too soon to pretend we’re friends.’
Wow, fucking amazing. I can’t even stick to a planned play through type bc I’m so swept up in what’s happening and how the MC feels. Masterful.
Did the other one happen to involve a mountain and a dream about high school?
Yes yes it did.
Small hint how to find out this dream ? Oh wait , are you talking about another game ? XD
yes, yes we are. it’s Samurai of Hyuga 5 if you’re curious
Do I have to make Argent like MC in rebirth to romance her?
What are the conditions for being sheltered in RO’s apartments in the ending?
I’ve played it a few times and never seen it except when I fell in romance with Steel.
you should rather not influence her mind
go as yourself , dont tell Ortega about being villian
Thank you!
So I’m unable to save the game on my iPhone play through. Is this a bug?!!
Ooooh lovely game. I saw its release and played the first and second book! I could not wait to see what will happen between MC and HG I also felt bad for lying to Steel because my villain really likes him, but then he was also determined to keep his secret hidden. Yeah he lied to everyone that his power’s gone. I think only Steel suspected it but in the end my villain made him believe it too ;_;
And I think my puppet went alive! I went to HG with my puppet, met Ortega, but the car crashed and in the end the doctor somehow resurrected her. It is certainly an… Interesting twist.
All in all, a great game, and I look forward to the next one.
Eyyy, anonymous Sidestep gang! Steel and Ortega probably suspect by now, and she had no changes aside from the puppet (which she disavowed and scrubbed the traces immediately upon getting back to her body). No confrontations or Farm either.
Also sewer gang sewer gang. I think I ended the game with 4% arrogance.
Excuse me a moment, while i fanboy out for this post. Those alergic to gushing ramblings, feel free to skip past this.
Coming into this book I was a bit nervous, the 1st entry set the bar so damn high that I was unsure if the sequel would be able to reach those same heights.
Shame on me.
This book not only met but exceeded the 1st book by such a large margin (and that’s saying something) that im honestly stupefied.
For me at least there is no feeling like when a novel hits the spot, like a satisfying meal and this book absolutely did that. Emotional resonance, well developed characters, a minimual amount of forced plot divergence, and a tense well paced atmosphere, that masterfully ratches up the danger and stakes until an amazing ending. The attention to detail is staggering and you can truly feel the care that went into this project
My only criticism (and I feel like I’m in danger of being nitpicky) is a couple of the scene transitions felt ‘jumpy’.
I have no earthly idea where this is all heading narratively, as I can reasonably see happy and not so happy outcomes for how this journey could end for our MC and friends but I’m here for the ride regardless.
I can’t wait for my reading group to get their hands on this one, I have a feeling the next few sessions should be super exciting.
Let me wrap this up by saying; thank you, for what i know must have been a herculean undertaking, all the best.
Oh no… oooooh nooooo
Remember that part in Rebirth? The one where you, for some inexplicable reason, dream about an event with someone of the same gender as Puppet? The same memory that seemingly has emergency staff trying to save someone in critical condition?
I think I know why we saw that now. And I think I know who that was.
That’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
