Fallen Hero: Retribution release thread! (Book Two) (Spoilers Inside!)

Apologies for the 180, but I’m curious about something. What does everyone think about Rahim’s epilogue?
It seems to me like he might have epilepsy episodes too, but since Step can read his mind then that would mean there’s another reason as for why you can’t read Ortega’s :face_with_monocle:

They could try using MC as a puppet like MC did with Ace before :person_shrugging:

I mean not really. The tattoos are pretty big telling especially when we know in lore that is how Regens work. This is one thing which very incomprehensible to me, why would people doubt that.

I think so but If We team with Dr Mortum (They are genius ). they know how to deal with Telepath before ,right ? I think they can help us to sedate our real body until we find out how to get rid imposter off our body. Maybe ?

So I rechecked the code aaaand if you pick the ‘I flinch in panic’ option he will yank Ortega irregardless. But if you pick the other ones he will be just hovering and unsure of what to do

(God bless my cursed memory)

Does anyone have a link to the public discord? Someone posted it in this thread some time ago but unfortunately it’s no longer working.

Here you go

Do note a lot of people have moved to the patron discord so the server is not as busy as it once was

Relevant part for anyone curious

[b]Fuad Rahim. District attorney.
…(Other stuff)…
He rubs his head. He’s been working too hard lately. The glowing shapes surrounding the desk lamp are a premonition, as is the light-headedness. He needs to contact his doctor. Maybe change his medication.

Hopefully, this attack won’t be a bad one.

Yeah, he may be epileptic (I think I remember people saying that he might just have migranes). But if so, what else could be making Ortega unreadable? Nothing else stands out to me, other than them taking numbers, which would be weird, but maybe their specific medication also works as numbers?

I think it was confirmed earlier in the thread that it’s migraines

You’re 2 ending sounds really fun and I’m having trouble trying to get to it, how’d you do it? :joy:

It’s funny how not letting Sidesteps choose the “kill to remove” Anarchist path if they didn’t kill at the museum made my Sidestep more ruthless when I did another playthrough, due to how much it changed her characterization. It also made her kill Deveraux, which helped.

Just a thought, for such a rare power, Telepathy seems to be pretty common. Sidestep, Shroud, Hollow Ground, Locus, Heartbreak.

Granted, at least 2 of them are merely tactile ones and 3 are Regenes, but man, what a commonly rare power.

I saw ask on the blog where the author replied that various kinds of telepathy used to be quite common. Until the telepaths started disappearing…

@Ayzee You just have to go meet HG in a puppet body and stay in this body during the accident. Later in the hospital, MC may want to figure out a way to check on their original body. And there’s option you can provoke Ortega to start looking for Sidestep by telling them that you heard HG want to get rid of “Ortega’s friend”

I have a question regarding the various endings. I’ve played through a few times and in only one did I seemingly get trapped in the “puppet” body, and I was wondering if there is a specific set of choices I need to make to avoid that ending.

You need to treat the puppet more positively to get trapped as them, and vice versa to stay in Sidestep’s body.

Lmao if the person who wakes up in the puppet’s body is actually Ace and they end up being hostile to Sidestep, I wonder how the mind reader vs future sight thing is gonna play out. Last year this topic arose on twitter and TikTok and gave me quite the headache lol. Sidestep is a powerful telepath so I’m sure they could handle Ace but Ace also might have an edge over Sidestep if they have really tight shields and their powers of future sight are significantly stronger than the little glimpses we saw when we controlled the puppet.

Also, what’s up with the ending where Steel devises a plan with Zephyr even when Sidestep is stuck in hospital and it’s revealed they’re the villain? He could literally just alert the SD and be done with it since Sidestep is a sitting duck at the moment😭

And lastly, is the sniper actually Sentinel or is it Deadeye? I think it’s the latter since I’m pretty sure it says somewhere that she’s a boost and “Deadeye” sounds like something a sniper would name themself. Maybe her ability allows her to always hit her targets? Could be the same sniper who shot at Steel

Why Steel dislike and mistrust Sidestep since they joined Ranger ? I think Steel is very narrow - mind person and Liar .

Good Doctor will help us hahaha
