I think it’s really a play to your character’s strengths thing. I never take that option, but I always get it. And I think you can get it with both, the option that it’s your mind (subtle manipulation - at least I think so) or when choosing to fight back (sheer strenght of will). (Giving up on the other hand I would assume takes you straight to the “flashback”).
I think it depends again on your characters strengths. As far as I’ve seen there are various ways to go out of the fight (though I don’t know if you can get out of it unharmed, but you can at least avoid the “I’m getting too old for this” achievement.)
You can get “Who Dares Wins” and still get “Getting to old for this” if you get hurt again later on (namely the ReGene on the top level can hurt you badly), or get it and avoid the later one.
Then I can’t help you. Play at what your MC is good at and you should get/avoid the achievements. There isn’t one and only way to go out of the fights. (Basically…look out for it or try until you see what works. Nobody here can give you a guide for only the fights. We could give you all the choices from the beginning that can lead to one way to win at most, but not the one definite path to victory as that one changes based on the character you are playing)
Okay I did look it up now because I didn’t know for sure (and man is this code branching), but the only thing greyed out and fitting what you wanted seems to be:
> *selectable_if (daring > 70) #I fire blindly right at the heart of that thing, and hope I hit.
*selectable_if (daring < 45) #I drop my gun, collapsing—if I keep hold of it, I will shoot myself.
So do everything the same and try to get those stats. (If it’s not a greyed out option following the “this is my mind now” path seems the safest bet)
I think I never got that one…is it an achievement or just a text passage? Sorry it was really not that clear what you wanted…
You get this one if you pick the option to fight the Gene .
Who Dares, Wins: You decided to fight a Re-Gene and lived through the experience. (10 points)
And after that…you get this one : I’m Getting Too Old for This: You bungled the fight in Psychopathor’s warehouse badly enough so you almost didn’t get away. (10 points)
The 2nd achievement is the one I was talking about . If there was a different outcome . Seem like there isn’t .
yeah , I wasn’t asking how to walk away from that fight . I know how to do that…I got 66h in this game lol
I never got it while fighting the ReGene unfortunately. I think you get it when getting the Rat King while being completely unharmed. (not fighting the ReGene makes it easier. Evading the ReGene on the top level too)
That also wasn’t what I was advicing to you before…
the achievement I listed should tell you what was the outcome .
Summary
you can fight (lead the wolfpack against the re-gen)
you can get rosie out and ignore that fight
and you can focus on the mission (I haven’t tested this option but I’m guessing maybe rosie die) .
That’s how the fight start . It’s during getting the Nano mission .
so if you fight , you get a few options but regardless if you pick (stay close , stay far , use allies , know what I’m facing , …etc) . The outcome is that achievement . You do get to kill the regen (if you choose to ) and the final verdict is that while you won the fight , the wolfpack lost alot of peoples . I was asking if there was a way to not lose that many wolfpack , since I’m pretty sure they will come into play later in the futur .
Oh you asked how to lower the deathcount. Yeah, lol no idea, and actually sure it won’t matter tbh…
Wasn’t that Hollow Ground? Aren’t those a different group? (Could be totally wrong here however) (Edit: nope I’m not, it’s a different group or well… person)
My MC is probably going to dodge Ortega’s calls as much as possible without making him worry enough to go looking for her. We’ll see how long she can get away with “oops I ran out of data/forgot to charge the phone/left it at home” before she gets forced to talk about emotions (shudder).
Not sure how much she would keep using the puppet. I feel like my canon MC would be trying to work on getting back into fighting shape now that the armor is developed. In her mind, she is approaching her end game and needs to be ready. The puppet is still useful for recruiting, etc. but I see my MC spending most of her time as herself.
Haha! I want my sweet tooth MC to make her villain lair a chocolate factory like Willy Wonka. Going to lure Lady A to a sugary doom…
Killing the Regene means that the Special Directive will know one of their operatives died, there is an escaped “cuckoo” (the MC), and the WolfPack is involved in all of it. Not sure they will appreciate the MC’s “help”
