Yep, you need to have the (strength or speed) and (telepathy upgrade or ((have daring within [35, 50] and choose to be cautious when fighting Ortega) or (have daring within [50, 65] and choose to press your advantage))) to beat Ortega. Don’t monologue or you will get hurt. Doing the telepathy way will set your stamina to tired, but it won’t matter if you stand your ground against Argent in the sewer and you can get away anyway if you plan well.
To beat Argent pick “This is taking too much time—let’s end this fast.” if you’re a fighter and “I wait for my moment.” if you’re a tactician. This will get you the Still Got It achievement and you won’t be labeled as a cheater.
To impress her you’ll need to physically fight her in the sewer and do well, to specifically win which would automatically impress her you need strength or speed upgrade, to be a fighter and have daring > 70.
If you want help navigating the sewer fight tell me what outcome you want, your upgrades, whether you’re a fighter or a tactician, your daring stat, willpower and stamina at the point of entering the sewer.
If you break the wall with nanovores, does Argent consider you a cheater?
She does not.

Yes, but you could still manage to impress her, i think you most likely do if you had strength or speed upgrade.

Not any single thing, because many if not all ways to get to that moment give you enough points to impress Argent. For example choosing to be careful and ambush her would pretty much guarantee that even if she ends up pinning you to the wall.

A few scenes before the showdown at museum you can choose your motivation. Does the “idk but it feels inevitable” give any advantages over the other choices? What does each choice at this junction provide?
Correct me if I’m wrong but—I don’t think motivation provides any sort of advantage, just distinct roleplaying flavor. In Rebirth, it changes what speech you give Ortega if you choose to monologue after defeating them at the museum (and the speech can affect whether Ortega is suspicious/sympathetic of your villain persona). In Retribution, they add a lot of flavor to the narration, and “I want a better life” gives you a motivation for attending the auction.
What choices increase your telepathic abilities?
I never seem to be able to exceed 69%
I honestly don’t know off the top of my head, but I believe Malin did say maxing would be possible in later installments. Two of my Steps end Rebirth with both telepathic categories around 71%, and they’re both hands-on with using them in combat, so it may be related to practice. Maybe someone else on here can elaborate more.

trying to stop him/her using subtle manipulation puts it from 69 to 72 then trying to use force of mind puts it from 60 to 64 than the trauma of heartbreaks telepathy jumpstarts it to 71…
