Big update (well, for me)! Chapter One is finished! I’ve about doubled the overall word count since I posted the first version of the demo on the 26th. It looks like I should be able to finish a chapter a week, depending on the size of the chapter and how hectic real life is.

I just wanted to make a quick announcement for all the lovely people who read this. I just read about IFWriMo on Tumblr, an informal event for Interactive Fiction writers that will be taking place this month. This WriMo isn’t necessarily about word counts, but about setting and achieving a personal goal.
So, anyways, this is my announcement that I intend to finish all of the beginning/exposition scenes. I hope that by the end of the month, I’ll be starting to write the scenes where you really get to interact with the ROs as potential romance candidates.

I just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I just passed 10K words and I’m currently writing the mini-scenes where you meet the five other ROs (and see C again). I have a few sneak peeks posted on Tumblr, and I’ll try to post them here tomorrow (when I’m not so tired).
I’ve also offered to do some fun stuff on Tumblr, since I reached 50 followers on Elemental Alliance’s blog. I’ve mentioned that I’m willing to do matchups, where you guys can send me a description of yourself and I match you with a RO. I’m also willing to write some mini-scenes, if anyone wants to send me an RO or two and a prompting phrase. I want to make sure that you guys know that you can send in requests as well! I have “anonymous” turned on, so you don’t even have to make an account.

Just posted an explanation of stats on Tumblr! Some of my stats are similar (looking at you, loyal and dutiful), so I help this helps clear up some of the differences and makes the available options more clear. These explanations will be available on the stat page when I post the next chapter (I have 3/6 RO family introductions finished!).
Hey, quick question for you guys. As I’ve been writing, I’ve been referring to family members of the ROs just through their titles. I know I have trouble keeping names straight, so it helps me if a story avoids a sudden influx of named characters. Plus, you’d probably only refer to important politicians with their title and last name. On the other hand, I don’t know if that breaks verisimilitude for you guys if you don’t know the names for characters. So, if you have a chance, please fill out this poll, so that I know if I should edit in names for the more important family members of the ROs?
Just finished the demo, and enjoying it so far. Was a little confused by the elemental correspondences at first, but one I’d gone through enough of the demo to flesh out the MC, it made sense. Was highly amused that the RO I liked the most was also the one that had the highest trait opposed to the typical for my tribe (my MC was from the magic Xochtl tribe, but high Adaptive, so fell in with the Qa’ippur RO). So while it might be odd at first, the correspondences to appear to work in the end.
And yeah, this does remind me of Avatar: the Last Airbender, but since I’m more a fan of Korra, I may end up quoting Varrick from time to time
