I am quite sure that there are no such cities(+This is a fictional country), before was said that it is inspired by Slavic culture and books. Moreover, the author did not want there to be politics here, and this would be difficult to avoid if there were real names.

Yeah, I mistook the whole thing, shame on me. Kolyma really confused me, since it’s pretty infamous real region.

AAChmielewski , Perhaps I missed the name of the river, because my translator could have skipped this word. But I meant the rest of the names and cities. Then I don’t understand the meaning of your question, if the author said that it was inspired by Russia, then it is natural that general geography will have something to do with it. Speaking of Slavic culture, I generalized this to include other countries (Belarus, Ukraine, etc.), because I’m not sure what from their history or geography will be mentioned in the game.

Maybe Kolyma was a bit too on the nose…
I got most of the names by mangling the names of actually existing smaller towns

How are you supposed to pronounce “Shkharevia”?

I can’t look up the phonetic alphabet right now for the sound I mean… I guess you’re asking about the sound in the beginning? It’s supposed to be a Kh like in Khorezm, but with a, like, breathy (not fully spoken) ш in front.

It’s Шкхаревия and it’s not really how it sounds in Russian. We don’t have many non-consonant sounds, unlike Polish.

Yes, it will be explained, but it’s a major plot point that will only be resolved in the last third of the story.

Minor Update v0.0.2

  • Nonverbal available for non-autistic characters (there are new dialogue options when meeting Lavrentiy for the first time; if an option without verbal speech is chosen, you will be asked if you want to set the nonverbal flag)
  • Wardrobe directly inserted into post-execution scene instead of linking to general wardrobe; excluded quite a lot of things from the selection for immersion’s sake, they can still be accessed via the stat menu wardrobe
  • “None” now available for secondary headwear (face)

Changes planned for next update:

  • New scenes with your siblings
  • Touch-adverse option for non-autistic characters (will be embedded into new scene)
    (edit because I forgot:)
  • Scene variations for when MC has the same name as one of the siblings
  • Performance improvements (second scene file has 3898 lines now, official suggestions are no more than 2000 iirc)

Version number explanation:

vX.0.0 → major update, new story arc
v0.X.0 → regular update, new scenes
v0.0.X → minor update, QoL and other small changes
v0.0.0a → hotfix, addressing bugs post-update

I’ll also update the main post, not just to include update information, but also more information about the game in general - people don’t seem too keen on checking out the tumblr blog (as is evident by all the duplicate questions I get on here…) - once I figure out how to get “older post editing” privileges.

Hey! I enjoyed your game. Looking forward to playing a Prince who doesn’t understand empathy.

Something that was weird for me reading. After the Prince survived and he came into the war room to talk tactics, nobody explained: “Well hello, good you survived. I hope you were not traumatized. We found you because… This happened the last days… We are the people that are still on your side. Will you lead us?” Something like this is missing. Also Yashka (or ahhh… what is their name?) calling your by your nickname in front of the military seemed weird. First name could make sense if they are someone who doesn’t care about titles or maybe wants to show that you are close.

People have asked about this scene before - the scene you’re referring to is simply unfinished, because the rescue RO scenes leading up to it are missing. Though there won’t be a reaction like you’re describing; 1. they know you survived, they were the ones to organize your rescue; 2. they don’t care if you’re traumatized or even want you to be; 3. they’re not on your side, and generally don’t want you to lead them.
Why all that is (as well as how they found you and what happened while you were out) will become clear once their respective routes are fully developed and the scene is not a placeholder anymore.

I’ll look into the nickname thing, I might’ve used the wrong name referral variable somewhere.

Would it be possible to be able to customize the brother’s name, since I chose to name myself Lavrentiy (as that’s the Russian version of my first name)?

Next update will have scene variations for when your mc shares a name with one of the siblings, but sure, I can add it to the settings

It’s a good demo with an interesting premise. I just have a question, does the weapon we choose have an impact on the story? I know nothing about firearms :sweat_smile:. Also a dagger option seems better fitting for royalty than a scalpel, but it’s just a suggestion

  • fixed bug where post-rescue scenes were missing if you chose someone other than Yakov/Liliya as rescue RO
  • added wip note to briefing scene
  • possibly some other stuff that was already included in this file for the next regular update, but I’m not sure

Weapon choice is purely influencing flavour text. There are no mechanical consequences to any choices outside of battles, it’s a pure role-playing game without “wrong answers” as long as it’s not concerning your troops.
