When I play Black Dragon, it’s usually a long quest to turn him to the good side.
His traits remind me so much of an anime protag that I can’t NOT try.

So I’ve been playing the demo to check out all the scenarios
male MC dragon is black named Fenrir while female MC is gold named Orpheus if your wondering .
And after playing as both genders I have to ask: Why are the RO for MxM( male X male if you don’t understand lol) MC both basically jerks??? Like girls have 4 options (if their bi lol)
Nope, she is straight (if it didn’t change).
Cassius is only for females?
God dammit.
That is a great question . . . hmm do I have some vendetta against the guys here? I’m kidding I don’t, I really just didn’t think that part through lol.
And no like @Urban said, Allison is straight.
But the jerkiest one is the cutest one… So maybe it balances out…
Just try all choice at new prologue and because of it, I can’t help but be more curious,is there war before/when mc born?
And now I feel better
@Vattena Eh, would it answer your question if I say both?
…take a deep breath while waiting for more history revealed I just can’t get over feeling where mc mother dragon killed! (who may skysoul mother)
Lol just thought I would point it out since I think it’s like picking one jerk over another jerk lol.
Also yaayyy I really liked her so far (despite only meeting her once ) I just feel like she’s really nice
. Also will she ever be a rider???
Sheesh can’t we just do a practice race to prove we’re good and shut him up? And when we do become a rider does he have to be our couch??? Lol well Shader I can get used too but the couch and Sharen need to be smacked around a bit, can I use magic to curse them??? Please!!! Only a little
Lol good… but I do wish I could complain about Sharen maybe me and his dragon will bond over that
No good Fenrir !
Ooooohhhh ok lol.
Is that before or after Nyx has repeatedly managed to make his face as red as a apple and cause him to forget how to form words? All the possible scenarios I keep imagining with her involve poor choice of wording from Arlan and her teasing him relentlessly because of it.
Heck, I feel like she could probably be sick in bed and she’d still find a way to tease the MC (even as they’re trying to get her to behave as a patient).
I like the way their interactions have been playing out so far; I mean, they certainly don’t always agree with how they each handle things, but they’re relationship is still quite strong.
…which is why I wonder how a Dragon, who is close to the MC and is known to be protective, will react to their RO. I mean, if I was a protective Dragon and some stranger is trying to hit on my Racer, I’d be a little reactive to that (or reluctantly try to give the MC space and trust that they know what they’re doing).
Yes, because Saren himself is such a skilled saint. So skilled that he had to resort to the ever so honorable tactic of endangering his competition’s life (both Dragon and Rider) in order to star in first place. TWICE. Clearly, he deserves his place among the Marauders, who claim to value expect integrity and honor from their Racers.
…Oh, sorry. My sarcasm slipped out.
How I wonder what his facial expression would be like if he ended up learning WHY the MC lost and HOW Saren won the race in the first place. I know that honor and integrity don’t always exist on the race field, but I’d love to see that stupid disgust toward the MC wiped from his face and replaced with shock toward Saren if he learns the truth and realizes how poor of a judge of character he may be (I say MAY because everyone is going to play their MCs differently).
Which is why Duncan should not be too surprised when Arlan, even after proving that he is a capable Dragon Racer, barely gives him a ear if he ends up having to be mentored under him .
Arlan understands that he has to prove himself (heck, it’s why he’s not really bothered by Saren’s attitude in the beginning). But the fact that Duncan has such clear disrespect toward stable-hands (at least, his words make him come off this way) and such favoritism toward the Riders, that Arlan is actually feels a bit of disgust toward him. If he had the option, Arlan would actually call him out on that viewpoint and make it clear how he views the Head Trainer (even if it gets him disliked further by Duncan or into trouble because of it). It’s one thing to hate him; it’s another thing to treat other stable-hands less equally than the Riders. In Arlan’s eyes, they are ALL a team who should be getting equal amounts of respect, no matter what role they hold in the Marauders.
Is the MC going to have a option to be trained by him? If so, will we have a option to flat out reject him as a teacher or at least barely listen to him?
@Vattena Most of that will be revealed in the sequel. So what did you think of the prologue though? Anything needing work? I’m kinda iffy about it cause I don’t know if it accomplished the whole, sympathy for your mother.
@OracleD3 No, Allison doesn’t become a racer and you’ll soon find out that she rather not either. There are parts where you can fight Saren, but sadly not Duncan lol.
I know in this book, your dragon doesn’t really interfere much or have much to say only because it’s the start. But I know I’m going to add more in the sequel, specially because of everything that goes down.
But you must remember that no one actually saw what Saren did to you because you were still partially in the forest section of the track. So only the two of you know the truth, and though neither you nor him will lie if asked, it’s something that not everyone knows about. And Duncan doesn’t train you firsthand, being the head trainer is like head coach, he coordinates more than trains.
And honestly that’s one thing I’m curious to see. One of my beta testers have no problem with Duncan because of that, she doesn’t like him at first cause he’s rude. I feel like that can open discussion about Duncan’s viewpoint about riders vs. stable hands. No doubt both are required but who’s more important or are they equal? Some would agree that it’s equal and others, not so much. Specially since riders are the ones who bask in the fame.
I’m not sure if the WIP ends right at the scene where the dragons are arguing about gems, but that’s where I get an error message. I figure if it ends there anyway then it’s probably not an issue, though😄
It ends there
I can’t feel sympathy at first prologue, but now that you add choice to it, i understand that she have through a lot, so you rather successful at bringing the sympathy for mc mother (because I certainly not feel this sympathy to her before) but it might just me though☺
This was really fun! Looking forward to more😄
I agree massively with you!
man, do I love this WIP. keep up the good work!!
question though, is there a certain stat you have to have in order for your dragon to be leader of a clan or is it based on the kind of dragon you have?
Your dragon need to be Red, Black or Golden.
I’m genuinely curious to see if one of Saren’s actions will drive Arlan into choosing a physical beat-down over a verbal one. Wonder what kind of events will have the two reenact the dominance battle between Lazarus and the MC’s Dragon.
I know; it’s just something neither Arlan or Quinn are going to forget any time soon. And considering his current attitude, it’ll certainly be a while before they can feel any sense of respect for him as a Racer (not sure how much his later actions will redeem the current ones).
And I’m curious about how strong his bond with Hurim is or how he treats him if the MC can convince the Black Dragon to leave his Racer (not sure if that is a cruel thing to do or not since I don’t know what kind of relationship Saren has with his Dragon)
Thank the Divine that the interactions with him are limited!
For me, at best, it’s kind of like saying ‘I’ll be nice to the cook for making me food, but a jerk to the waiter because they didn’t make it’. Sure, the cook probably made you a mind-blowing meal, but the waiter/waitresses are the reason that the cook can focus on their duties in the first place. At worst, it’s like choosing one child over the other because you like one’s skills/personality better than the other or just don’t really know how to appreciate the other child’s contrasting personality or skills; such actions can easily create resentment with the rejected child toward the parent and the favored child (which seems to be a bit of the case with Alli’s view on the Riders). Yes, the type of respect will likely be different, but at the very least there should be a shown of appreciation for the other child’s uniqueness, even if it’s not fully easy to understand it (hopefully I’m explaining myself clearly).
And as for Arlan, he pretty much lives by this quote: Two in harmony surpass one in perfection. He is close to Tempest and knows that both need to be in constant sense of harmony to win the races. That has lead him to believe that teams should be working in the same way; that there should be a acknowledgement that everyone plays a vital role in the group and should be respected because of it. Just because a Racer is the one the crowds cheer for doesn’t mean that the Racer themselves should forget to show gratitude for the stable-hands or not attempt to offer a helping hand when they can (or for a CERTAIN Head Trainer to forget that the stable-hands are the strongest reason the Racers can focus on their training to begin with). Even after Arlan is a official Racer, he’d still likely take time to continue helping the other stable-hands whenever he can since they are just as much his teammates as some of the Racers are.
Like I’ve mentioned a few times, Arlan and Cassius could honestly get along when it comes to personalities. They just should never talk about Dragons with each other.
