DinoKnights — Saddle up to defend the realm on dino-back!

I’m looking for a game which requires less concentrating of stats and is more about the fun of roleplaying. As a break from all the stat heavy games. I wonder if this is the one I’m looking for. The demo seemed promising but I would like to see it confirmed before I buy it

It may be not romance heavy, but a generally good and fun journey with companions you meet along the way… i play the good route so i felt a very light hearted adventure till the end

That’s hardly surprising for me. Is there even a game where you tried the evil route? Lol
Anyway thanks. Guess I decided to give this a try. Was considering either this or Werevolfes of Haven (did I get the title right?) but then I decided against Werewolfes bc it’s theme seems to be more serious which isn’t what I’m looking for atm.

Werewolves haven rising perhaps is a bit serious, but lots of replay value nontheless… and there could be multiple shaping on a MC’s personalities, and romance is more committed …

Dinoknights’ has a more merry and cheerful tone, for my route anyway… and it has that fellowship of the ring charm towards the end

Sounds perfect for me right now.

Dammit. Normally I’d had double checked it if I’m unsure about a games title…

Lol… it is alright, now you know that title :-)

You play choice of magic already? You can check out that one too…

But yeah, the thing i cherish for Dinoknights is that i met many lovely companions there and when they accompany me for that final quest… it utterly remind me of the tone “You will never walk alone” , and even those bone dragons are sweet … so i really feel good playing it…hope you will enjoy it as much as i do

Of course I played it. How could I pass up a game made by @kgold

Most stat checks can be passed with a 51, which considering that you start at 50 isn’t hard at all to get. Toughest stat checks to pass are only 61, which again is pretty easy to achieve. Only real issue are the opposed stat checks. For example courtly vs rustic. Some require you to be under 50 (ie. rustic), while others require you to be over (ie. courtly).

double checks the game Lol. I didn’t even notice these stats yet. After the skills I just skipped to the relationship stats.

Edit: I noticed the rivals name is missing from the relationships stats. Guess that means no rivalmance, too bad I was kinda hoping for a chance to do that.

Nope, no rivalmance. 5 romances in total, 3 are women, and two are gender flips depending on player taste.

Who are they?

The three always female RO’s are:

  1. Melsuine, a mage and royal advisor to the queen
  2. Laila, a bard
  3. Sara, a palace servant

The genderflip RO’s are:

  1. Bartas/Beatris, prince(ss) and royal heir
  2. Martis, ranger partner to the MC.

Thanks.

Another question: Am I the only one who finds the prince(ss) kinda annoying?

The author went out of their way to give the player a bad initial impression of beatris as a physically attractive, but empty-headed flirt. This is compounded if you lose a stat check to your rival in the princess’s presence. Nevertheless if you do get to know the princess better the airheadedness later turns out to be an act. Her RO ending turned out to be my favorite, although Melsuine was a close second. Laila’s RO ending left me dissatisfied on the other hand, and that was disappointing because in the mid-game, she and Melsuine were tied for my favorites.

I played it a few times, the game was fun and I liked betraying the queen, but I feel like it tried to go in too many directions. The tone was cute and fun in some places, and then dealt with heavier and more adult stuff in others, and I found it somewhat jarring at times.

Also the romance scenes were weird. Who asks if they can kiss someone? Was this game written by Vulcans lol.

I liked the queen too much to betray her to her cold snake of a sister.

I completely agree. I think that’s why I liked Beatris’s RO ending so much. It was the only scene in the entire game where you or an RO didn’t ask permission to hold hands or kiss. In fact it’s heavily implied that you did much more than kiss in your bed, which was a refreshing change from all of the G rated romance scenes.

The whole deal about asking CONSENT is exactly that: Asking for someone’s consent.

With Martis there’s the undertone that they might be autistic or similar, so getting clear consent is an important thing.

it wasn’t just Martis though, who i can understand. It was every single RO. Melsuine was my early favorite, but after the third (or was it the fourth?) time i had to ask her for permission for a kiss (after she had granted it every previous time) i was sick of it and rapidly losing interest. It killed the spontaneity.

After the way she had rubbed my MC’s knee and boldly eyed him up like a t-rex does its prey i thought Melsuine was going to be a lot more forward. Unfortunately she turned out to be just like all of the others.

I think, with all due respect, that maybe the author kinda did overshoot the line.
As said, it’s good that things are catching on, but finding the balance is tricky

If i were going to make a constructive suggestion, i’d suggest that she set variables such as ConsentHoldHandsMelsuine and ConsentKissMelsuine, and then check them before asking for permission yet again.
