Why, what has dear old dad done to us in this game? Your mc’s attitude does remind me of my mc’s attitude in the “Modern Majesty” game. But in that one his dad is an utterly loathsome being who sells him into slavery. Of course in that game, unlike here, my mc wants to have nothing to do with his “family” and certainly doesn’t want to become a figurehead, puppet “ruler” under a family name he utterly despises and his one greatest regret in that game will indeed be not getting the chance to kill has “father” himself because in that one it is apparently pre-ordained that his “uncle” beats him to the punch. Accordingly that mc just wants to live a comfortable life somewhere far away from that miserable country and his plan is to essentially sell it, or at least sell his abdication to any republicans among the petite-bourgeoisie for a nice wad of cash.
You already did! [points to the awful nightmare in Totem Force] Do you know how upset I was when I first played through that? I lose Kay and get stuck babysitting annoying Sammy then see Anara die…that was cruel
Glad to see both you and @Curious_Boy around again, I’m lost without you guys
Are two magical people more likely to birth a magical child?
I have my suspicions. He has taken my rightful inheritance from me at the behest of some assholes that have conspired against me. I bet he was even plotting to disinherit me from the start and I bet he chews his food with his mouth open and kicks puppies… hmm I’m a bit paranoid. Wow, I’m definitely wanting to kill the Modern Majesty father as well I hope I can kill the Uncle at the very least. Stories with orcs and elves in modern times are great.
Maybe he had no choice, I guess we’ll see in-game but maybe his power is not absolute or perhaps they’ve conspired against us so well that he’d face a rebellion or civil war.if he didn’t exile us It could also be the threat of a war with another and equally powerful empire, depending on who we’re supposed to have murdered, if so we should perhaps be thankful that he mollified them enough not to have to turn us over to their tender mercies and no one wants to start a war between two superpowers if they can help it. In which case my mc could probably understand dear old dad, if not for the fact that he didn’t actually do it of course. . Since we know so extremely little at the moment I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt…for now at least.
The Modern Majesty “dad”…yeah, he’s a real slavocrat asshole who had his own son enslaved and forced to become a gladiator and on top of it all we cannot even kill him or our “rightful prince” brother for it. On the other hand my mc has nothing in particular against his uncle, in fact my mc might make him the same offer he makes any republicans among the petite-bourgeoisie: “give me a new identity and a boatload of cash and I’m out of here and you can have the miserable Kingdom” since my mc there really doesn’t want it and even if he did he knows he isn’t properly educated for it and after his gladiator “career” he’ll also never get any respect from most of the upper and even middle classes ever again.
Trust nobody… until given reason to trust them. Until Lizzy posts a wip and only if he proves himself will I trust him. Have you tried it as the princess? The differences between male/female are great in Modern Majesty, I just played again as male and I think I prefer it. It has more underdog feel while female has sneaky snake story. She’ll get the throne through marriage.
I feel you. I’d probably forget about my murder fantasies if they pay enough. Crowns are heavy and fancy chairs are uncomfortable.
One can be used by any mage, but only by mages, since it requires channeling magic into it to activate the blade…and yes, you can have your dagger if that’s what you choose
@SiROSTRiKE as I envision them it’s really just sword, spear, dagger…since those have straight blades
It would be really neat to have a Rapier type of sword instead of the big bulky swords like a claymore. Maybe we can have a sword in one hand and a falchion in the other, so we can be elegant and such like the Florintine fighting style was supposed to be?
