And here another auto forcefield and played again but the second time with super durability with near Immoveable strength buff should he hurt his hand really badly instead or just grit his teeth from pain like how it said? And that’s all the mistakes I can find any other mistakes would be just probably be just power corrections at certain scenes. So yeah… Best I could do. Also I think the Telescopic Senses should have more uses for finding things since it is a zoom in power for our senses unless you meant this power as telescopic vision. So besides this, hope to see where this story goes.
Yes, I’ve been missing a lot fo forcefield options. Thank you for pointing this out. it’ll be fixed by week’s end. It should just be pain, he didn’t swing hard enough for a break.
This was all senses, but I am leaning towards only sight. Maybe add options later for other senses.
I love how you didn’t have to add a shitton of powers and mechanics to make us feel powerful and be able to make any hero we can possibly imagine, with just 17 well described, well chosen powers, we are good to go, everything else can be done with the flaw/strength mechanic you added, it’s obvious that one thing that needs work is power descriptions in battles as right now they all are described the same way and with very little detail, anyway, I was able to make supes, iron man, nightwing, spidey, luke skywalker, a more powerful magneto, doctor xavier, wolverine, flash, there’s absolutely no limit, I hope all the people that make superhero cog games learn from you because sometimes less is way more, I already like this book of yours way more than hero or villain saga
btw this is my luke skywalker build if you’re interested:
movement: accelerated(force speed)
senses: mind reading, danger senses(I feel a disturbance in the force)
defenses: hyper reflexes, force field(laser deflecting reflexes, laser stopping force shield)
offense: telekinesis(acute manipulation as he can manipulate black holes) lightning(with environmental manipulation as he can manipulate all the elements, also lightning judgement)
miscellaneous: endurance(long ass jedi end battle in 3rd movie in a world full of lava), healing(with no flaws since jedi can heal both other people and themselves if they enter in a trance)
Fixed. It was a simple scripting error. Once I knew it was Chapter 5, I already figured out what the issue was. I just was not near a computer. Sorry for the delay.
I’m glad to hear that you appreciate the design. Most of the systems I implement I have adapted from different tabletop RPGs. When it comes to picking/making powers I find modular set ups cover a wider range.
Interesting build. I did not imagine someone using the system to make a Jedi. It is a well designed recreation. Now I just need to implement more of the power into the text. I feel like I have a lot of opportunity to make better use the of the powers and abilities I have in the game.
While I do love the enthusiasm, there are some limits. No Mr. Fantasics, no Invisible Woman, no Professor X, no Vemon, no Angel or anyone with wings for that matter, no Beast Boy, no Green Lantern, no time manipulation, etc. While you might be able to get abilities like Cyborg, you don’t have any of the flaws that should come with it. Yes, you can have a healing factor like Wolverine (just not close to healing as fast as he does), but you don’t have the bone claws the character is known for.
For some of these it is due to how I was wanting the story to be. I want the secret identity, it can be used to add tension at times and helps separate work from the mask. Heroes like the Thing or Cyborg would hamper that. Also I would like the world to be able to doubt the existence of super powers and a hero stuck as a rock person or a person with wings make a secret ID impossible.
For the others it comes down to too many powers to have to track vs usefulness. Some powers would require almost completely different books worth of extra writing. My first draft (pre me ever posting on CoG) included time control, invisibility, and the ability to become the element you control. All of these were too good. I have to praise Adrao’s Hero or Villain series (it was my first CoG) for some of the things included, it is not easy to include time powers of any kind.
I did try to make sure that I could get the broad brush of powers by breaking them down to their basics. I am very happy to see people enjoying the modular nature of custom character creation. I have added descriptions to the premade hero types. Individual powers will still take time.
Added power descriptions. I removed the ‘Metal’ element and instead added a limitation to telekinesis that limited control to metals. This change is not reflecting in the writing, only in the character creator. I may do the same for other elements, but have not decided yet. I have also removed gravity powers for the moment. I’m sure I’ll bring it back, just need to see if it can be consolidated into another power or if it should keep its own.
I don’t understand this part, couldn’t my character snap the rope with his super strenght? And how could he push me so hard if I have the power that makes me immovable?
I mean venom would or should be possibly with shapeshifting… though with the current powers you already have a lot to work on and I’d advise to keep things as they already are, no point in making things more complicated and risk losing the awesome essence the game already has, after all the scenes we read are powered by our imagination and I assure you after watching so many anime and superhero movies my imagination has no limits whatsoever, my fight scenes for sure look hella awesome in my head lol
Yeah this has been brought to my attention previously. Thank you for reporting it. I will have this fixed by the end of the week.
There should be a check here between their strength and your toughness. As for the super strength, chances are that you could break it. Risking using your powers is something else. Before the character has time to think it over, someone else does it for them. I’ll add text for that as well.
