Finished coding for the stat screen (well for now, might add some more things) and I have started writing the prologue. Shouldn’t take me too long to have that done though since the prologue isn’t really interactive.
Got an idea running for Chapter 1 and the Character creation which should be done by Friday at least. The creation part… not the chapter lol.
Story is rather “eh” right now since the themes for it will take a lil to develop (Hopefully I can foreshadow it at least.)
@Lucid I bow down to you, love your work. Looking forward to your work
I’d be really interested if someone does a horror game with this topic that could be like soma if you have played the game. If you haven’t you should play it it’s really good, and from what I heard it only costs 16 dollars on steam for people who have steam. Okay I’ve said my pecie by the way if anyone wants to share a plot summary of what there game is that we can put with the thread then you could do that. I always feel that people should tell you a little about your game that way they can get a feel for what it’s about, and other things that you might be trying to tell like for exaple what lesson will the plot have and how well you can get the reader to understand this for games teach us how our brains react to different situations think about this maybe while you are making your game. But you can also do it for fun I’m just saying just make sure you have that good torn choice and an interesting plot. And if someone could figure out how to do a game based off the butterfly effect with choice of games that would be really cool. Okay I’m done for now check you guys later. I’m adamthecowdog and this is my message
The character in soma isn’t really in a virtual reality (well the guys on the ark are) maybe there could be a glitch on the ark and your character is trying to fix it (sort of a sequel to soma) and you can meet simon or cath
Edit: and I mean your character is a brain scan on the ark
Story is based in the near future where VR machines have been made and established. And with this advancement of technology you see the great things it can bring forth and the harm it may cause.
The story follows the PC on a journey of self discovery of who they truly are and what is their purpose in life. The presures of society weighing on them and the fear of what the future may hold for them they escape to another world, a virtual world.
The first fully interactive MMOVRG, a FPS survival game. The harsh environment and ruthless competition is evident like in most other FPS survival games but it’s more than just a lobby of people waiting to kill each other, the world is its lobby. People are murdered, suffering, and starving as a war continues around them. But none of it is real, right?
Will the harsh realities of life weigh them down? Will they find comfort in escaping to a new world? Will that worlds own cold reality drive them to escape in another fashion? Or will they find hope and move on, finally realizing the road they must journey down?
Hmm… Not sure my summary making will be that good, but I’ll give it a go. Note: Some of it is gonna be like in-story “PR” for the VR game. PS: Sorry if it’s a bit long…
"Savage Law Online is a new Virtual Reality based off of the super popular Savage Law series! SLO features reality-breaking gameplay to make it a true must-have VR gem! First of it’s kind, SLO offers a constantly changing world with quests unique to each player, advanced AI NPCs, a full-sized world where players can build and decorate their own virtual home and guilds can create their own towns around their guild hall! SLO also features public and private servers if you want to make lots of new friends or just play with exsisting friends, but that’s not all! SLO also offers an offline mode if you’re just wanting to play it like the classic RPG style of the Savage Law series!
But that’s not all, folks! SLO also has these features…"
Savage Law Online is a feature-packed, skill building Virtual Realtiy game just about to be released to the public. You as the character, ready and raring for it to finally be released despite what is happening in your life, but then something happens the day before release and you lose your VR set and can’t seem to find any available anywhere!
Your hopes and dreams are crushed at being one of the first players to play this amazing game from the get-go, until by chance on the day of release, you go antique hunting with a family member where you happen to find an old prototype VR set. With your new VR set, you go home with dubious thoughts on if it’ll even work or not… Luckily enough, after a few hiccups, it seems to work well enough and you manage to log in and start playing the game, but the more you play, you can’t help but notice how strangely realistic the game is on such a junky, old prototype…
I’ve decided that the coding will be finished on thursday the 29th. Then the voters will get to play and vote on the 31st. So keep working your on the home stretch.
Ok, that’s it, the competition has now closed, could you please submit your entries to me as described in the first post. It doesn’t matter if they aren’t finished, so long as they work, this was never about the finished article, just about producing something with potential
