As a non-wealthy bibliophile with more than a streak of bibliomania, I know a thing or two about buying books on sale, and this is seriously as good a price per word as you’re ever likely to get unless you go to a library discard sale in the last hour or two before it ends.
Hefty boi this is, guess it is time for me to play the first game again to be prepared.
Are we going to finally figure out why the nymphs and satyrs split apart and went to war.
Satyrs. Satyrs, not centaurs.
Thanks I always got mixed up with that
I’ve replayed Labyrinth to confirm, and we sortaaaaaa know why the Sun and Moon War happened: Teijia engineered it.
Started my play though of the sequel. If was one of my most long waited games and it’s definitely worth the wait. I’m enjoying every minute of it.
So she manufactured reasons for them to hate each other but wasn’t their mention of a curse later on
I don’t know HOW she did it, but when you’re goading in front of Nirein in Labyrinth, she pretty much says “it was me, I did it”.
Is it intended that the relationship scores don’t carry over from Labyrinth? I went from Melaxu 83 and Tamur 67 to 61 in both. I also lost 3 points with Zoriza
They get bumped down a bit between the games (or up a bit, if they’re very low) because time passes and because the fairmath that underpins percentiles won’t show much progress if your stats are extremely high or low.
Alright. Man, I’ve REALLY been lax in my relationship with Mel between games, then, it seems. Do nymphs like apology chocolates, d’you think?
EDIT: Are stats/professions maximums still at 5/3?
Profession can go a little higher, up to 5. And I adjusted the personality variables to make them more relevant to the questions this game raises (how you plan to oppose the Scorpion, how much you want to kiss the Scorpion, etc.)
Oh man, Mel is now facing serious competition as RO.
Bugs begin:
when you ask your second for gear before leaving the Mytele palace, one of the options says scale armour, and scale armour gets added to inventory, but the text specifically mentions shield and armour (no shield gets added to inventory), which wasn’t one of the options.
Suddenly, “Conquer the Unconquerable Scorpion” sounds a little bit different than before.
For the sake of clarity and so Mary’s blood pressure doesn’t spike–you cannot actually romance the Unconquerable Scorpion. But there are now…five, I think?..major romances you can pursue, and two incidental/conditional ones. You can also attempt poly romances, but only with two major characters at a time, as more than that strained my programming abilities and also made me giggle too much during intimate scenes.
Wait, wait, waaaait. ANY two? I can get both snarky Mel and satirical Zoz in one go? THIS IS A THING I CAN DO?!
Yes, that’s definitely possible. And since the empress doesn’t actually travel with you, you could snag one more if you can keep all their relationship scores up high enough.
I think the only “forbidden” combination is Col and Clannath since she’s his adopted daughter and I want to leave something for the fanfic writers.
