So glad that I was too lazy to replay and just accepted losing the singles cause this update broke all my saves and had to do it anyway yay :') Though did manage to win it this time. Also tried to tone down hitting on everyone else but apparently didn’t flirt with Rayyan enough so there was no mess after MC got together with Sam, very sad… but also, the rom-com train scene!!! Soo good <3 all of them are, very hard to decide on which one to go for lol
typos, switched genders and few inconsistency stuff
You refuse to sit back and allow Jacks to continue to grind and wait for either of you to make a msitake. As the old adage goes, if one is to die, one might as well die in a grave of one’s own making.
Typo, should be mistake (during end of the second set)
Sam isn’t particularly tall, and his slight build is the only reason he could even fit in your jacket, but even then, your jacket always looked comically small on him. The sleeves only reached three-quarters up his forearm. It usually made for quite a hilarious sight.
He’d laugh and flex his biceps, saying, “does this make my muscles look big?” and continue wearing it around, tossing his jacket at you in exchange.
“I don’t want your jacket,” you’d sigh, looking down at the jacket balled up in your hands. But you’d put it on anyway, sleeves draping down way past your wrists, resigned to the fact that your teammates would be calling you “O’CONNELLY” for the rest of the day.
The jacket mix-up really shouldn’t have happened as often as it did, considering both jackets had your last-names stitched into the sleeve, and the fact that the two of you really weren’t the same size.
When Sam wore your jacket, the sleeves would come past his fingers, too long for him, but it never seemed to bother him. He’d just roll it up slightly and continue wearing it anyway.
“That’s obviously mine and you know it,” You’d say, looking at the rolled-up sleeves, and Sam’d just toss his jacket at you.
“I don’t want your jacket,” You’d sigh, looking down at the jacket balled up in your hands. But you’d put it on anyway, sleeves coming up short on you, resigned to the fact that your teammates would be calling you “O’CONNELLY” for the rest of the day.
Inconsistency issue with the jackets text, the first should be correct as MC is short and the latter repeating is wrong
You remember the photo strip you’d brought to Cargill. “Look what I brought with me.”
You swap the camera angle round, and show Sam the photo strip of the two of you pinned to your wall.
Sam’s usually an open book, but when you show it to him, a quiet, unreadable expression comes over him.
Might be wrong but should be an inconsistency issue as during the first call to Sam during the first week, when Sam was packing and showed a photo with MC, MC then showed the photo they brought, so would be showing again not for the first time
You suppose she a counter-puncher for good reason. And perhaps her experience—knowing when to let balls go, and when to go all out, for instance—helps, too.
Forgotten is on she, should be she’s
“I was very fortunate to have come out of that with a win,” Deepal says, sympathetic. She pats your shoulder. “And to think you’re only a freshman, with four whole seasons ahead of you.” She shakes your head. “Terrifying!”
Should be shakes her head
Slowly, some sense floods back to you.
If you do anything now, you’ll have to live with the consequences of your bad decisions in the days, weeks, months to come.
And no offense, but Rayyan certainly doesn’t seem like the sort who’d be able to keep her personal feelings about you separate from what happens on the court.
At the end of the day, logic and sense win out, and you manage to pull yourself away from the yawning precipice.
You’re not sure what would’ve happened if you hadn’t stepped back, but you’re… mostly glad you had. The two of you had enough drama between you as it is, without adding whatever… this was.

Sighing, you follow Rayyan out of the locker room. The two of you are quiet, enveloped in your own thoughts, but she does accompany you part of the way back, peeling off only at the Main building. You walk the rest of the way back to Haynes, and soon climb into bed.
Inconsistency issue with the locker scene, double text after stepping back
“I could contribute finesse and fluidity, and in turn, Rayyan could shore up our defenses at the baseline,” you say. “This would be more balanced than if I partnered Rayyan, in which case our weaknesses might compound and run the risk of being exploited.”
You feel both Rayyan and Tobin’s gaze drilled into your skull. There’s a brief, tense silence.
Second Rayyan should be Tobin
“After some deliberation, we think that the alternative pairings of Deepal-Rayyan, and Tobin-Alicia, may actually bear most fruit, especially where chemistry, communication, trust and respect are concerned,” Coach Jones says. “Taking everything into holistic account, we believe that this pairing would give us the best chance at weathering tough draws.”
[…]
Coach Sý looks at each of you in turn. “If anyone has violent objections, speak now, because after this, we’ll assume that this will be the pairing we’ll stick to for the rest of the season: Tobin-Deepal, Rayyan-Alicia.”
Inconsistency issue with the pairings, on the first text the coaches decide on Tobin with MC but on the confirmation it switches to Rayyan
And the cherry on the cake? Sam will be here soon. The excitement of seeing him again, and having her most of the weekend adds to the building anticipation.
Should be him
Guillaume grins, and hands a wad of paper towels over to you, warm affection clear in her twinkling grey eyes even though he doesn’t say anything.
