@burninglights I don’t know if you watch or read blue lock but would there be somekind of egoist mode/personality trait? aka just being a shit talker to other players while also having the skills to back it up. just wondering that’s all
I’d love to be able to talk shit to opponents but I don’t really know if any tennis players talk shit although it would still be cool to do it.
Can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve posted in here, Where did the time go?
Managed to get through to the end point with two different builds but still haven’t won Lasertag
Looking forward to the next chapter.
With a high agility and finesse you can just outplay everyone and win Lasertag through nigh superhuman speed and accuracy. Matrix references are made by spectators.
Barring that, I’m only aware of being able to win by channeling one’s inner Liam Neeson from Taken. And that requires you’re willing to be a bit of a jerk to win bragging rights and chips, so it might be you were too nice to win with the two builds you tried.
Today I found out that if you win the USTA U18 championship, you’re given a wild card into the US Open main draw. The MC won it in their junior year, but I assume they didn’t go? (Or you could write in them going, I definitely wouldn’t mind )
Wouldn’t competing make someone ineligible for a scholarship though?
This is my first MC where he can be normal person in normal world😂
Players can compete, but they can only accept up to $10k (I think) in prize money. US Open R1 money is much more than that though, so they would have to give up a lot. Some players decide that using the money to springboard their pro career is a better idea instead and change plans.
My second build was Tactics/Finesse so I’m thinking I just didn’t have enough finesse at the right moment. Haven’t done a speedy boi run yet though. Thanks!
Can confirm though the whole “being a bit of a jerk to be successful” works for real life lasertag too
Well if you manage to win without going Liam Neeson with tactics and finesse I’d like to hear about it.
Not that using love interests as human shields or playing possum aren’t valid, but such behavior is a bit out of character for the personality I give my MC.
HAHAHA this cracks me up. I can definitely see your MC having to deal with that later on in the game… And as for MCs who view romance very much as a good to have, well- thats definitely valid and I wanted to have that be a possible route in the game. Also, on a side note, I’d say Rayyan’s attitudes are rather similar, at least at the start. Its tennis or nothing for that one.
@Reaper_General ooh I dont know the reference, but may check it out! As for an egotist/shit talker trait, I tried to do that with the cocky stat, but will try to have more segments in the story when the characters call MC out about their personality traits - havent been doing much of that at the start, wanted to give it time for players’ choices to sorta stabilize a bit first.
@Silent_Volcano and on that note, shit talking will definitely come into the picture, esp when MC’s actually playing against other schools.
@TheBread welp, cant believe it’s been this long since an official update, where did the time go re: lasertag, Ive revamped it based on some beta-tester feedback, and it’ll be out along w the new stuff next update- hope you’ll enjoy!
HAHAHA yes, exactly this. Couldnt have put it better myself ;p @TheBread just has to be a little more ruthless. But yeah, with the revamp I’d like to say it’s a little less impossible to win while being decent about it.
@Cloudy and @kckolbe ooh!! Interesting. I’d say for MC has a little too much on their plate in freshman year to think about competing in the US open, but I’d wager it’s something they’d pursue maybe later on, as they get better and more settled in college.
@Ahmad_raby haha, hope your MC is enjoying their experience
That certainly seems to be true, which is why my mc doesn’t do any club activity on the side, he’d probably be good with anything theater or music but he’s simply too busy for it. That said I do hope he can find the time fur sun, sea and Sam and visit Sammy in California one weekend.
The wildcard is for the US Open the same year, so it would have been the summer between their high school junior and senior years. Though I imagine that summer was also extremely hectic. I did some research and it seems that NCAA singles champions often get wild cards, so the MC could definitely get another chance in the future.
Ah, I see! That’s really cool, thanks for letting me know! Could really be an interesting plot point in the future, if I ever get to use it Maybe even if MC doesn’t, Rayyan or Tobin could certainly have a shot at launching their professional careers that way.
Understandable once you find your flow and such so no rush needed! and I would recomend checking out the manga!
Something like that when we pair up against Rayyan in a team game for example
Question please is there any polyamorous romance here?
There is not and there are no plans to change it.
Great story
Just asking what your prioruty now?
@Ahmad_raby haha yup, no poly routes planned, and my priority is to get the next chapter of CT:OS out, but the tennis portions are taking a while, sorry!
