I haven’t read any CoGs or Hosted games in a year anyone have any recommendations for reference my Top 5 favorites that I’ve read is the Wayhaven series, the Samurai of Hyuga books, the keeper series, i The forgotten one and Breach: The ArchAngel Job
They are hard to match as I too been out of the loop (and not all stories that I can think off that have a magic college of sort were actually good reads). by your list I would go as far as to suggest you to go for the titles: “Heroes of Tomorrow - Hidden Potential” (CoG) or “Balance of Superpower” series (Hosted Game) or “Community College Hero” - series (Hosted Game) as you follow through the graduation of this team of young superheroes.
However If the superhero genre isn’t for you and want to keep the magic elements in the story plus some of the funniest bits I would suggest instead: The Bread must Rise (CoG), Witch’s Brew - Love and Lattes (Heart’s Choice) and Tokyo Wizard (Hosted Game)
Finally if you like long series where you follow a single protagonist through a series of events (get enrolled in an officers Accademy, goes to War and then after come back home and have to manage the “politics”) I say the classic Hosted Game Trilogy: Sabres of Infinity → Guns of Infinity .→ Lords of Infinity
