Is this because of the whole Yuri on Ice thing that all my fellow gays are raving about?
I’ve always been really uncomfortable with people using real-time famous people’s names and/or events to sell or make a point of their fiction.
I don’t feel the twist is entirely that well done if a) we’re told it in the prievew that our protagonist will die and b) we don’t have much time to get to know or care for their death as their character is killed off before the plot gets going proper.
