The first week of the second arc has just been released: ‘Escaping would be good’.
Fantastic plot line and seamless transitions so far, I honestly was expecting some cheap fun from this app and was ever so pleasantly surprised. Your dialouge is rather authentic as well, a few awkward phrases but mostly just a damn good time. Two thumbs up.
Thank you Jaymesaysrelax.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the story and thanks for the feedback.
Cheers.
Phill.
Oh this is awsome! I had this when It was just the sun going out story but now I can play more of these!
My story is number three for this app, and I believe there might be a fourth to come.
Just has a random thought while I was walking.
I’m a role player and a role-playing game master. In fact, ‘And Their Heroes Were Lost’ is based on a competition module I wrote and ran at a convention a long time ago.
Is that the case for other interactive fiction writers?
When will the fourth arc be made available to read?? I am a binge reader. It’s really hard for me to wait but the story seems worth it…
Not for a while, I’m afraid.
Episodes are weekly-ish and I’m currently running seven simultaneous storylines.
the first instalment of Arc 4 will be out towards the end of this week, as I have still have to finish two storylines and then it has to go to the editors.
Phenomenal update, this last. Looking forward to the next
Thanks Chris. Glad you’re liking the story.
What a great game to be my first of this sort! Thank you, Phil!
Gotta ask though, will we have an upcoming update?
Sorry for the delay on replying, I haven’t been here for a while.
Glad you like the story and yes the updates will keep coming as they get written; the Christmas period has slowed everything down a lot.
And with about five or six (it varies) concurrent storylines happening, the instalments do take some time to write.
Enjoy.
Hello! I’ve been really enjoying this game, but I do have a question: Is the PC male? Some parts imply that they’re, like how #49 called the PC “sir.” It would be odd to call a female “sir,” after all. Just checking. Anyway, excellent game!
The PC is supposed to be of either sex. To avoid potential spoilers, I will PM you to get more details so this can be fixed.
There will definitely be more stories (plural) after “Heroes” - the app is doing well!
Hi, I’m curious about something in the game. In the other 2 stories, there were 2 similar themes going on.
- The PC travels the world and visits other countries.
- Two love interests, male and female.
Will this story also apply towards the 2, or will it be different? Anyway, the recent update was very interesting, looking forward to the next! Keep up the good work.
Hi Amaranda.
Without knowing where you are in the story, I can’t really answer the first question because of spoilers, but there are storylines that go to different places in the world.
Regarding your second question, my rationale is that the other character’s feelings towards your character are based on your choices. If you have a preference, then make the right choices and they will treat you appropriately—and of course your history with them will also have weight in how they treat you.
Hope you continue to find the story interesting.
Phill.
I wish to ask you a question phill, has the definition of what is a hero changed for you. Since our last encounter.
My personal definition of a hero hasn’t changed.
However, if you are asking about ‘And Their Heroes Were Lost’, then I leave that up to the reader/player.
Cheers.
As a reader I see hero’s as prisoners of their own values locked within themselves unable to feel the freedom of release the detachment from the material and the emotional. Hero’s to me are the prisoners of this world who gladly accept the burden to save us from ourselves the true villain.
