Thanks for the tip about Verdi; I’ll change it to Paganini.
What I feel is there is no enough fails in Etiquette on the soire. With most feral west killing not English language fluently and really more animalistic that anything else.
I think that should have a utterly ridiculous mess and being encouraged to abandon the soiree. A small scene like that maybe based on player choice could make a deep funny experience without many work.
The game felt very fleshed out compared to when I last played it. I found the characters to all be interesting, especially because I can’t tell who’s gonna stab me in the back first! I loved the slight spookiness that everyone gave off. The run I just went through felt a little long, but I was captivated enough that I finished it in one sitting.
The setting is really neat too! I stuck to playing a pretty heroic game this first go around. I saw lots of opportunities to be an evil bastard, which is great!
Some of the stats seemed a little confusing as in how they effect the game (lore and status, for example), and I seemed to make a lot of other vampires angry in this game despite having 4 in charm.
What I really appreciate in the new version is small details even two Pc apparently with same stats The ethnic group we are part it make scenes different ina organic way .
Like the racist governor isolated if you player as one of white background She seems really normal and not particularly asshole (for the time period)
Play as American native and she is racist in a very annoying and realistic way.
Hell, I am Spanish and I have heard similar stuff from racists “About you are okay for being from your race” You can see her soul in that moment.
Out of curiosity more than an outright request. In the first game you get to pick your human background and why the master picked them.
If you had added a background where the MC actually used to be a vampire hunter who failed to kill the master and was instead turned. Do you think a background like that would have had much impact on the story? Especially if the MC was quite well known in vampire circles as a skilled hunter.
But what would be the social background and origin in these games you can be totally isolated from vampires and focused on small places with only humans.
Except for that slayer, the origin is independent of your heritage as a different choice. I agree that a new background could be an interesting IAP. But as a free addition to the game maybe not rentable, as really lot of work for not really a increase of revenue
It’s more just a question than a request as adding another background isn’t ideal at this stage.
The more social background would be more of a raised in the church and trained to hunt them or something. I’m just curious whether a background like that would make Jason change the story much or if its play out mostly the same?
It really depends where player goes into the first game If you like I mostly do go wilderness and not New Orleans I think could be game-changing against the whole battle vs Church. In great detail.
So are these being thoroughly revised before the third installment? What do you think Mara is it gonna be worth it to re-purchase this from Steam once part 3 is out and try to clear a weekend for an all-marathon vampire session?
I have been really critical with Vampire saga before @jasonstevanhill could agree with that statement However, There is having serious polishing and improvement in several scenes and a general-purpose of giving more agency to players and not be perceived as a narrow path.
I really recommend you check out the web and see it as I am sure you could be very useful pointing out masculine clothing and general Dandy tone for very posh romantic vampires.
Is it an open beta or do I need to apply? As people well know my available free time can fluctuate greatly it has been more than usual this summer but it seems like it’s really going to contract again at the end of this month and in October.
“general Daddy tone” …
Yes, well, Mara is right, that I’m always looking for specific comments about forking text to fit various PCs.
It’s not “open”, but I’m not riding anyone for results. Just send me a PM.
Dandy tone, Jason, dandy tone, not daddy tone my mc here isn’t opening an orphanage with Jesse, unless it is to raise future servants and walking blood banks. And I guess my vampires really do hew to the fashionable and sophisticated stereotype here even my main one who used to be just another poor Yankee in life has gotten considerably more upscale and fancy in his tastes over time as a vampire.
Which is funny because my main mc is taking the opposite track and has become considerably less rude and more well and soft spoken as well as, again, much fancier over time as a vampire.
But I’ll grant you that with the period in mind a man being polite is gentlemanly behaviour while a woman being polite was often misconstrued as submissiveness.
If I recall correctly my mc starts out with still something of the Yankee pioneering spirit and tries his smaller plantation with free labour but does not immediately go to New Orleans.
You ninjaz my response :) I am not really into charismatic pc in this saga and it is really weird. I think is because it is very tied to politeness. And that a rude charismatic doesn’t sound like possible but probably is because of the time period.
@idonotlikeusernames you as daddy sound exactly as Mara looking for the baby reset button lol
Another few errors for your delectation: The first is that all the options on the Wither’s tour take one to an event where it’s as though one told her of Jesse’s ill intentions, whatever choices were taken.
Secondly, situations where a Catholic character establishes their home in The Pitch lead to the character failing to discover the Memphis Jewry, in the followup frame, despite having high levels of perception.
Finally, there are often situations during the letter writing stage where one will receive the contact details of certain characters but those contact details will fail to appear as options to write to. This isn’t to be confused with instances where a request for contact information is declined. That’s all for now.
Please TAKE SCREENSHOTS. This is not enough information to be actionable.
EDIT:
I’ve found the Pinch moment and edited that one; thank you.
Pushed a new draft.
(Still working tonight on it.)
Can’t believe I’m just now noticing this thread!
@jasonstevanhill One thing i remember from playing the game is a feeling of wanting to take revenge vampires and their society they created by being forced into their new life of undeath by their maker. And also wanting revenge for not being able to be with Clotho.and your vampire is religious I feel like he would hate vampires and your maker in general from being cut off from God and now being seen as evil.
I in V1 there is a part where Estefania asks you want you intend to do with your life as a vampire. In that part I think adding a choice of hunting down other vampires as a hidden motive should be available.
I feel there a lot of instances where a hatred for your own kind could be brought into like when the Governor comes to visit New Orleans, I feel like we should’ve been given a choice to sabotage the party in a way that no else would know we did it or even disrespect the Quaestor/Governor same thing for the election party in V2.
And if we do meet a vampire hunter down the road we should be given the option help them or team up with them either openly or discreetly.
Great point! I do remember wanting revenge for the killing of my love as well, which could tie into your last idea.
Quick question. When you drink blood it seems to temporarily kick your heart into beating. As if it brings your body back to life in that moment. Would that restarting the body also apply to the other organs. I know if you and have sex it doesn’t work but would drinking blood prior to that counter it?
Always interesting to talk about science within a worlds boundaries.
