Choice of Rebels: Uprising — Lead the revolt against a bloodthirsty empire!

@Haresus Depends on what kind of rebellion you’re trying to lead. If you’re going for a peaceful or at least mostly peaceful rebellion, he’s a destabilizing element and isn’t good for much.

He also murdered my husband once. I’m a little slow to forgive that kind of thing

Absolutely, I’ve had my characters murder Radmar for trying to lay his hand on Breden a couple of times in the past. Ain’t nobody touching the future Queen-Eclect of Shayard. :stuck_out_tongue:

But he has his uses in a lot of other rebellions, and his distrust of Breden is not entirely unfounded either. :stuck_out_tongue:

Awww…love you too big Tiger. :tiger: :hugs:

On a more serious, given how horrible and well utter shit the reality of the Hegemony is, the fact alone that being a rebel, constantly living in mortal peril is better than what my mc came from being, having a dream to cling to really helps.

If you’re not a helot the theology of the nightmare religion of the Hegemony seems to be awfully boring and sleep and headache inducing. If you are a helot you’re presumably not supposed to understand the theology anyway and even if you did, well you’d still be sub-human…:unamused:

Yes! Join me in casting down the nightmare church and its caste system. Forge your own new and bold doctrines. :persevere: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Presumably even contemplating this question is blasphemy in the Xthonic Chruch. Don’t want to frighten the “faithful” with hordes of “fallen” angels.

If my mc would debate theology at all, or if I ever made an mc who does then he’d argue that Xaos came first, and given how corrupted the Xthonic order is that would make Xthonos the bringer of a false order and therefore a false god or “fallen divine” himself.

What did you expect it’s perfection, perfection is boring.

Logically this would seem to be possible if you go down the path of founding your own religion.

Yeah, you are right.

If the Plektoi had no such vulnerable point (as its eyes, giving a way for a possible direct hit to its brain),
then the MC’s rebellion would have ended in the 1st Game only.
(unless you have those Theurge Forged Spears or advantage of that Cliff)

But again,

It is not acceptable when creating a Plektoi, it takes a truckload of aetherial blood
but while destroying it, a few outlaws having no formal training of any weapon can do the job even without having any Theurge forged weapon.
If I recall correctly, it took around 30+ outlaws to kill a Plektoi in a hand-to-hand combat
and around 12 outlaws(with Breden’s Charisma or MC’s Cha2) for pushing it off the cliff.

When the Hegemony has advanced so much in mastering Theurgy,
They have that much of intelligence…
I wonder how could they leave such an easily exploitable weak spot in their most advanced universal soldier, the Plektoi.

May be because they never expected anyone to have the courage(read madness) of confronting a Plektoi.

However I see our mutant hounds pretty accurate of What a Hegemony empire could do. Based in their mindset. Same as in our reality humanity has created several animals that have no sense from a external viewer. like with several race or dogs that are to weak to even maintain on their feet. Furless cats that cant live without people who gives sun cream. Pigs so fat that cannot feed themselves. … They want a psychological terror and eyes are key to that. Baskerville hunt is a extraordinary example of how a good description of the eyes of a beast causes on humans. Or Cujo.

Hmmm… perhaps i can take example of the creation of Plektoi in similarity with the manufacturing of German Tiger tank in ww2?

The Tiger tank was a far superior battle tank than all of the Allies tank at its time, and consider the Germany’s end game when it was deploy… however i had read that the amount of cost to build Tiger tank was huge, as a result, certain weak point didn’t manage to be rectified… hence same can go with the plektoi, to re-model a perfect killing machine may took more time to redesign it and more cost, which may not be sustainable

Rumour was also mention about certain beaurocrat took it into his personal taste about the structure of the tank , which actually further making it vulnerable at some part… in this case , officer may took it into his/her own taste into creating a plektoi that is pretty in apperance but with a weak spot ? Such case is not illogical since we are also questioning the decision of our own government officer

What are you guys opinions about stats? So far I think an MC with CHA 2 is the best, and the INT 2 MC built is the second best (bc magic… erm, theurgy). But I wonder if there is anyone out there who prefers to play COM 2 MC?
Imo COM 2 is a bad character built bc sure they are good at fighting but what good is that if they can’t convince their followers to back up their lead?

@Cari-san I also think cha2 is the best build. Cha2 mc will have almost complete control over her band’s decisions. She plays well both as a low-anachy or a high-anachy leader (believe it or not, a cha2 com0 mc could win the archon’s army pretty easily, provided that she chooses to raid in the winter and does not piss off people/followers too much).

What I like most about cha2 mc is that she has a decent chance of (1) a non-violence resistance run (2) in which she stops the harrowing and (3) no casualty in the winter (all in the same playthrough). By a non-violence run, I mean no plundering noble/merchant in chapter 1, and choose not to raid anyone in chapter 2. With such a sparse resource as that, the cha2 mc can still bring all of her almost 300 followers alive through the winter (unless she really has no luck with bear hunt…). A com2 or int2 mc wouldn’t even be able to pull off a non-violence resistance at first.

Something I wanted say about that “Micromanagement in Chapter-2”

For those who have feelings that it is too tedious to manage the band for every damn details, they have the choice of leaving the detailed management to their second-in-command.

But when it comes to my opinion, for me the micro management is a get way for my MC for an Efficient Management of his band.
The author has given us so much opportunity to direct our own band. Giving my MC the Freedom in leading his band, which I have seen in no other choice games.

The management in the chapter-2 is what makes a real difference in
His number of followers,
Number of literates,
Number of mules, wealth, arms
And much more.
But most importantly shaping the opinion of different classes of people towards your rebellion, resulting in formation of allies and foes.

When you are playing the game as the Leader of a band of rebels, this management is the thing that gives you the thrilling feel of what it is to lead a group of rebels in real life.

Don’t we have family?
Don’t we have businesses to run?
What do we do there?
Aren’t we doing the same micromanagement there in our real life?

Sometimes when I click an option unintentionally and when that choice changes the desired outcome. I hate it to start the chapter all together.
But this is my own fault, the author can’t be blamed for that.

@Havenstone We eagerly look forward to the next installment.

@Havenstone I also would very much appreciate the option in the stat page to restart a chapter. When I experimented with chapter 2 micro-management, there are so many ways of messing up with choices (my fault, by the way). When that happens, I have to finish the chapter 2 before getting a chance to restart. That can be frustrating.

CHA2 character at the moment seems the best, but i chose it due to my intention to lead a civilised rebellion via charisma …

However, in the long term or future books, CHA2 character should has some disadvantage as compare to COM2 character, i can foresee such outcome when we venture into Xaos Land, because by then we will need to face danger alone without the help of our followers, COM2 character should have an easier task, especially if we bring Breden… how 2 characters without fighting skill going to survive amuse me, but i suspect Breden has some hidden combat skill…

Then in some future events , a COM2 character is less likely to be assassinate , and he/she could involve battle directly , at least he/she could survive in a gladiator pit too…

CHA2 character need lots of calculative thinking and micro management skill, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea

Even Know Charisma 2 are under powered. Yes , maybe could seem easier. But we are less versatile, and more vulnerable than intellectual or commander builds. Charisma in this moment and more going forward is mainly maintain a very narrow path. For instance Mara. She would go Pure charisma I am determined to not put any point on Combat as Mara doesn’t want to combat except to self defense (as I have said Pacifist route not hippie route or non violence) She considers she can’t win Hegemony. However she believes that She CAN seduce and convert it.

If you ask me other routes have more possibilities and options.

Yes i agree… CHA2 character could try to charm their followers and persuade certain individuals, but in the end they need to achieve some results to keep the Faith alive, like the route of Angel Eclect … even if the priesthood believe in us now, we need to perform some sort of Miracles once in a while to keep the claim alive , and for the rebellion, we need to start minimise the lost to keep their spirit alive, many loyal followers of mine died when they become the suicide squad against Plektoi, i don’t think there are that many more willing to do that…

And with the dealing of cousin Calea , i think her combat skill is far better than mine, in future dealing with her , she could easily capture me …

Hence , i don’t think CHA2 character hold that much advantage, in fact from the earlier posts, most players are doing quite successfully with COM2 buildup… CHA2 players like us join in later, and for me, i never thought low anarchy route will be a success in the beginning

Well, I don’t really had any loss at all due I had no many death weight and i infiltrate most people on Shayard. In fact mara lost 6 people in total and in last chapter. against mutant. I hope befriend Calea as we both Lacoste people and we negotiate

Oh?? I didn’t obtain your ending… i suffer more casualties … at least Elery survived

Same as you , Calea is an Ally, for now … i need to make as much friend as possible, i will only address Calea regarding her past sins once the rebellion is a success

Well My 20 men jumped to save me over the mutant and the mages and destroyed in a loyalty rage wave then we evade like pros and go to the other province. They were badass

Oh… that mutant was Plektoi right? I had similar occurance , killed 3 plektoi and some mages too …
Hehehe …, yeah those men and women died for the Angel Eclect…

I killed one with lacoste spears they kill the rest you probably had lost more people because death weight rats and Breden. I have neither

I don’t have the spear, so the archers shot some and the zealot followers push one…

I don’t think i lost children , and yeah breden survived, Elery poisoned but survived … not too bad

Celery and Bread happily I have both crumbs… They both deserve the recognition as most ann ghosts ever.
