Choice of Rebels: Uprising — Lead the revolt against a bloodthirsty empire!

They are dead in your play through? That’s pity…

Luckily for me, both of them still keep me company… what is life without your friends around ? They are both fun to be around…

If my guess is correct poison_mara plays the fewer rebels at the beginning version (she let Elery and a bunch of other helots get harrowed in chapter 1) then she sent Breden away at the end of chapter 1(?)

That looks too sad for me…

Maybe. But it’s certainly easier to manage in chapter 2 then it is to manage a group of 300 or so rebels out of whom more than half are kids whose use is limited to say the least.

It is not sad for me and certainly not for mara. I don’t know dead weight names They are a sob mass of whining people. Celery is with Breden and Rag the druggie the most USELESS PIECE OF BASTARD RAT EVER always crying out WHERE IS BREDEN I MISS BREDEN… YOU ARE SHIT MARA…

BREDEN IS DEAD DEALT WITH IT ELERY…

I am so happy without death mass I have well trained staff, Who work and I have food and everything needed to give them a good training. Nobody poison nobody. Nobody dies and there are not smelling babies. Paradise compared to all those commoner rats. THERE ARE ENOUGH OVERPOPULATION NO MORE BABIES IN THE MIDDLE OF REBELLION. Because yeah, Castro and Stalin had babies in middle of forests

I tried to play a COM2 character but I never got an even slightly satisfying result. Maybe if someone could gave me some tips regarding that I would gave it a try again. With a COM2 character I couldn’t figure out how to succesfully raid the architelone for example and even at the battle against the Phalangites a COM2 character wasn’t as effective as I hoped.

@poison_mara Like I said that version has it’s advenetages now, I just wonder when it’ll be a disadventage to have fewer followers than we could have if we save everyone at that harrowing.

None, due in a scale of things next game will be far bigger few helots save are mostly pointless. Remember each day in Hegemony dozens of Harrowings happens. The fact you save few kids and elderly doesn’t change an entire revolution. People who save them have far more content and several leaders I thankfully don’t have, but most people want. If you want to raid with my number of people 40 you barely can’t raid anything. It is not that i have advantage and people who have them not Each solution have their pros and cons. I just happened to prefer A pacific route with less but more trained followers that have more chance of survival at the end with the groups who joining my revolution I have more than100 so all is more leveled

Saving everyone , with Breden and Elery there seems ok for my CHA2 MC…
But even if you are a COM2 , you should send the small kids to be taken care of by the villagers…

Well… personally i think with many kids and elders hidden among commoners, they could help spread my message among the people, and sympathy among people is powerful because they will help your uprising in future events … think of the Hunger game, reputation is important

I think if you choose Breden’s idea of spreading and teaching the message by living among them , instead of fighting should have different outcome in Book 2 … although we can’t see it in Book 1 …

COM2 buildup ? Perhaps @idonotlikeusernames or @Ramidel can advice on the COM2 MC ?

I send All My followers to spread revolution no needs kids or spies thanks

Neither do I think that there would be any point in the game which is impossible to beat if you let that harrowing happen. What would be the point of including a route which leads to nowhere? I just think that there will be a point where it makes difference that you have 100 followers or 400.
Anyway I like to keep my anarchy level low too which I noticed is easier to do with fewer followers.

The problem is that you can’t do this. It would make the kids and elders less of a deadweight if you could include them when you send followers to spread the message or stuff like that, but the game doesn’t let you do that. So far they are just another mouth to feed.

Well… I keep everybody, and still manage to feed them nicely, morale is also high… in this case , since there is a way to make everyone happy and keep everyone, why don’t we just do it… i mean there is a phrase who stated " The More the merrier " … so for me, the more the merrier it is…, but i agree that in such case , CHA2 character is essential , i remember i tell the kids some story and they all calm down… i forgot the name of the children leader , but she seems to be one of the zealous follower based on how she react when i become angel eclect… and You can send Breden to help as well, with CHA2 Mc and Breden working together… nothing will damper their spirit… oh yeah, just take away all mule from infirmary , it was not needed …

If you’re COM2, you will succeed in each and every raid you lead unless you do something stupid. So lead a raid every week during the winter, while the rest of your bandits either scout or recruit. Make sure to recruit at high speed to replace the bandits you lose in raids!

Second tip: Chaos is a ladder, not a pit, for COM2. Get a bunch of mules early, then raid aristocrats, merchants and the Architelone freely (and recruit Bleys unless you think that’s too nice to him). Most of the time you should be buying food instead of stealing it: Stealing food means you’re not stealing money.

Third tip: COM2 wants to marry Breden, get the Kryptast code (killing Breden afterwards for bad cooking is optional) and then get a nice fancy magic sword. That means running (to the forest or back to the Rim) and getting caught, not fighting it out. Fighting it out is for theurges.

Thanks for the tips my friend… @Cari-san you got that ?

Anyway my first CHA2 MC marry Breden and got the sword , but need to give it to Simon and let him be temporary leader since i can’t use it… but Elery died…

My 2nd saved MC, CHA2 as well… but this time romancing Suzanne and everyone survive … just evade the enemy main force … i will start with this MC in Book 2

The key to raiding the architelone is not to have Int 0. It’s just about the only thing in the game so far that makes a difference between int 1 and int 0. I didn’t want int to be the natural dump stat.

What about extorting grain from Alaine? 2COM/1INT can do that, but 2COM/1CHA can’t, IIRC.

All good advice. I personally like to fight as every build. 2COM is very good at leveraging traps, and you can beat the Archon while keeping all your lieutenants alive (even Breden the bad cook) if you use 50 guys to trap every week, leading to ~500 kills from traps alone in the final fight.

Smuggling with Alaine (not extorting) checks the mc’s credibility with merchants, with different threshold that the mc need to pass depends on the max stat, 2COM > 2INT > 2CHA. Also, if you choose Breden as deputy, the threshold will go higher because Alaine is unimpressed with Breden.

Are you sure? From the game’s code for extorting Alaine:

*choice
*selectable_if ((com+int) = 3) #“If your masters want us to stay out of the Owlscap, kuria Alaine…they’ll need to pay for the privilege.”

So you need 2COM/1INT or 2INT/1COM.

Didn’t get the sword. I stopped trying when Breden refused to marry me (after that it wasn’t a question for me wether I’ll kill her for bad cooking or not), but I managed to beat the Phalangites and I still have 150something adult rebels. So I’d say that’s good enough. Anyway the other 2 tips did help a lot so thanks again.

Oh, I’m sorry. I thought you mean smuggling grain with her. I’ll edit my post to prevent more misunderstanding.
