No, it isn’t. If you can get the band to more enthusiastically prepare for battle it isn’t necessary. However since my mc has needed Breden for her charisma and she will always oppose it (damn Breden!), the band will then only reluctantly follow the mc into battle.
It may be possible that you can change Breden’s mind if she and your mc are a couple, but that of course prevents pursuing Simon, which is a huge trade-off in and of itself.
It may also be possible if you go for really high anarchy and get Kalt/Kala instead, as they are another proponent of standing and fighting, but again that’ll cost you Simon.
Thanks! Might seem a strange question, but how will I know whether she’s been saved? I keep getting an ending where she’s beaten and taken away for trial (which doesn’t seem wildly auspicious). Doesn’t that count as success or failure?
MossHeart told me that Theurge-Bane require to be a secret mage. So if i will hide my magic skill i won’t be able to achieve “Maker of change” achievement and can’t start learning Yebben basics of Theurgy?
No, you can’t get maker of change if you don’t discuss theurgy with Horion, which a secret mage can’t or won’t. You can definitely teach Yebben, if you’re a secret mage Yebben will figure out your secret and come ask you in chapter 4.
Im seeing a trend of “Damn Breden!” in most posts here.
Yeah I was gonna go for a COM 2 INT 1 aristo for a heroic last stand (you know?). Maybe it’s possible if you limit Breden’s influence in the winter and keep morale up enough, and enjoy the benefit of being an Eclect?
I’m guessing you prefer our resident Swordmaster. Anything actually going for the Firebrand? Apart from the sheer ruthless charisma and brawling they have.
It should pop up with “Achievement Unlocked!” Or at least it does for me (It’ll be the Rescuer Achievement) but from what you’ve said it seems like you saved her. Saved her from death, maybe, not punishment. If she dies she’s straight up pyre’d
So it’s impossible to achieve both achievements? Bit of shame. I must think what will be better for my mc
.
It might be possible to get majority votes if you send Ragnar on multiple missions to build his reputation and get the former phlalagite to join while having decent weapons and morale and at least 250 bandits.
You make that sound so deliciously phallic.
Morale is always sky-high with my character too, doesn’t prevent Breden from trying to sabotage you.
You can’t build Radmar up enough, had him lead a raid or recruit more followers every week as soon as he becomes available as a leader (week 3) I think and it still wasn’t enough. Radmar I guess will never be popular enough to have any major influence, unless maybe (I haven’t actually tried this) if he’s backed-up by Kalt/Kala. But with those two the mc will have trouble keeping a rein on their more sanguine tendencies.
So if you’re going for Simon, ignore Radmar he’s a dead-end red-herring.
Like I said my mc would really like some charismatic skeptic, or at least anti-clerical followers to diminish Breden’s influence and help with with the charisma stuff instead of having to rely solely on Breden.
I never allow Breden as deputy anyway, when Zvad leaves I replace him with Simon and then Korszata in the end.
That sounds like the formation of a plan. Get Radmar, Zvad (as deputy), Bjel and Korzsata, high morale, enough weapons, training, traps and still unsure about the Firebrand ( for political support) or the Swordmaster (for actual combat expertise).
I figured you’d like that
Breden’s ability to be a pain in my arse (intentionally or unintentionally, we don’t know yet!) never fails to frustrate. And come at the worst of times.
I bought this and now I remember why I didn’t like it, well at least a part of it anyway. It’s the “starving and dying in the woods simulator” part I can’t stand.
Yeah it’s incredibly grim in the begining and without a tutorial or hints a lot of people are floundring trying to get food for their band or being demorilized by losing half their raiding party every raid.
It’s like you’re forced to raid the people you’re trying to win over to your side. If you’re trying to set up being able to smuggle for the merchants you don’t want to be raiding them as well. Trying to play in a way were the rebellion is not a bunch of common bandits will kill off at least half of them. I remember this is why I stopped playing when it was still a WIP. You have to raid a lot if you want to keep everyone healthy and this will do no favors for their image to everyone else.
This might be better posted on Choices of Rebels general
Can you tell me which file you edit? I want to look into the game code because i want to check conditions for some choices.
Thanks, that all makes sense, except I am playing as a noble 1 charisma, 0 command, and 2 intelligence.
My goals/major decisions are:
Trial at the harrowing. 3 anarchy
Everyone votes. -1 anarchy
Raiding mostly just the yeoman for mules and grain. Maybe the Healots once if needed.
Raid 1 Garrison 1 anarchy (after -2 from 3 gained?)
Sabotage the Harrower with sand (1 anarchy from explosion)
Become a secret Threuge.
Smuggle with the merchants.
Ambush the Tax Collector but recruiting the guards and letting the Tax Collector live. (6 or 9 anarchy per code?)
Inner Voice or the other one. Not sure which one I want. Probably Inner Voice.
Tie up Brenden for later.
Have 20 anarchy or less to recruit the appropriate people.
Have enough money/mules to buy back the yeoman’s loyalty, and the arms for fighting.
Fight the battle.
However, I keep ending up with 21-22 Anarchy. It is very frustrating lol.
I will try to throw in a week or two where I reduce rations to low in order to save food and avoid an extra raid or two. That is… if raiding the yeoman creates anarchy?
Helot or noble, just speak up when the Big Noble questions her after her sermon. The rest of the options do not matter.
Please put things like that in spoilers so people don’t read things that spoil the story. Surround your comment with [spoiler][/]
and spoiler in the last bracket after the slash.
How often do often raid the yeomen? I only did it a couple times, for mules and grain during the first week/opening weeks. After that I used an absurd amount of mules to bring grain back from Tithe Barn raids. And if your devout enough, and either claim to be Eclect, you can still gain some Diakon support, whilst still paying off yeomen and keeping anarchy at a low-key 19/20
I thought raiding the Tithe Barns pissed the clegy off too much? How do you get them back in good graces if you raid them?
I beleive my order is as follows:
Harrowing: trial, no robbing.
week 1: (0 mules for sick) (rations healthy for sick, reduced for healthy)
scout alastors
brenden mule beg
mule raid yeoman
tax collector scouting
farm raid yeoman
teach
week 2 (0 mules for sick) (everyone votes)
fence 2 mules, buy food.
work with merchants
recruit
teach
week 3
mule raid alastors only, bring elery, join us.
farm raid yeoman
provide mules for the sick.
teach
week 4
exile or group judge.
recruit w/ brenden
attack alastor garrison (do not raid town) (small changes with magic)
teach
week 5 no mules for the sick
mule raid yeoman
farm raid yeoman
teach
week 6 max buying of food no mules for the sick
theurge
sabotage Harrower w/ sand
mule raid yeoman
farm raid yeoman
teach
week 7 mules for the sick
Rob taxman, recruit guards, taxman lives.
harrower explodes, send brenden
recruit
teach
week 8 ( ussually notice anarchy is at 21 or 22 right about here and restart. )
merchant smuggling mission
Who’s the former phalangite? Does he join you if you proclaim yourself eclect?
