There were five if I remember correctly. They got put in the stocks instead of executed because they really had just been following orders.
The “Harrowing economy” is a Theurge-level concern. Even the brutal majority of Alastors would see it that way. Their job is to keep order on their patch.
@Havenstone I was curious to ask, what would happen to our friends and top generals that were helots before our revolution like radmar and Elery, specially if we continue the Harrower system as we had discussed before?
Would they stand against us if we decide (as if we have a real choice for that to manage our empire😑) to continue Harrower system for helots? Can we convince them? Is their loyalty to us or the idea of free helots? If they themselves are free and even top authorities in empire, would they still disagree and even fight this decision of MC?
What of all other original rebels that we started with from Rim? Would they get disappointed and even felt we had used them? Because I sure hate to continue Harrower when we own helots every thing in our revolution. Like our main bulk of rebels are helots, we did revolt just because helots, we won Archon because a lot of helots were fighting with us, they had even saved us from plectoi and only god and you as author know what else we will owe these helots then when all is finished we just throw them in garbage bin and say “yeah, this is the cost of winning.”?
I khow you don’t want to work on a utopian finish but This, is really a hardcore one at that.
i would say it depends on if they know secret of harowing or not. if they don’t know secret i can see you convincing them that’s its very important and should be kept even if they wont be happy about it. if they know i don’t think they will voluntarily agree to that,
@Havenstone , which post-Hegemonic factions do you think will dominate the beef jerky market?
And Havie, just curious – is “hey let’s talk about the ways we can Theurgically weaponize our privates” truly a normalized topic of discourse in the broader Seracca culture, or is M’Kyar (and/or her particular Yega’a clan) just… kinda weird?
Chili oil, curry, or some other spicy topping I haven’t yet considered?
Do you wanna build a snowman?
It doesn’t have to be a snowman…
(Go away, rebels!)
Okay, bye.
I can’t wait for my Halassurophilic revanchist MC to spend the first 5 games relying on Halassur for everything, and then realize in Choice of Rebels: Hegemon that Halassur is not fully comfortable with MC saying that Shayardenes are a “master race” that will never concede any sovereignty to anyone.
Hey, don’t stop! I wanna hear the full version!
Revanchist? You’re trying to recover lost territory?
(MC knocks on Sybla’s mercenary guild door)
Hey Zvad!
Do you wanna build a snowman?
Or maybe set a snare or two?
I never see you anymore
We need your sword
The band still looks to you!
We used to have fun pillaging
And now you’re gone—we miss you so very much!
Do you wanna build a snowman?
It doesn’t have to be a snowman—
(Zvad: Go away, rebels.)
…Okay, bye.
(Later)
Do you wanna rob a mule train?
Or plunder a tithe barn?
The Alastors are chasing us
Without you, Zvad,
Setting traps just ain’t the same!
(Hang in there, Bjel!)
It’s lonely on these marches
You were my deputy, truly one of a kind!
(Later)
Zvad? Please, I know you’re out there
Elery’s asking for child support.
Crew says “have courage,” and I’m trying to
We’re right out here for you
just let us in.
We built this band together
You held us up
Don’t let it fall apartttt
(somber) DO YOU WANNA BUILD A SNOWMAN???
Honestly, the way my cosmo imperialist MC sees it—if Wiendrj (holding Stezyc/Steswick), Erezza (holding Avezia/Aveche), and Karagon (holding the Veldrine Hills) all fall under the MC’s control during the post-Hegemonic power grab, then who actually governs those ex-Shayardene regions day-to-day doesn’t matter much to the MC. As long as the local governors are loyal to the central authority, whether or not the Shayardene revanchists get their way or not is irrelevant.
There will be some helots who would stick with you even if you keep Harrowing helots (as long as their loyalty keeps them and their children off the list). But Radmar and Elery certainly wouldn’t be among them. You could keep Radmar, like Kalt, by switching the target of the Harrowing to former nobles and their retainers. Elery might not be as easily convinced that there’s no alternative.
I’m afraid my economic model isn’t granular enough to cough out a clear answer to that.
My sympathies are with her, actually. The taboos around talking about something half the world experiences on a regular basis seem kinda weird to me.
Love. It.
I think a lot of cattle’s going to die due to the collapse of agriculture if you don’t maintain the current agriculture practices. Beef market might never recover from the sheer size of the herd losses imo.
At the end of Sojourn where you’re to select “Next Chapter” when crossing the border ward, it is stuck infinitely loading to the next page. Has this chapter not been published or is this an error on my end? Apologies if this has been answered or asked before.
This chapter has not beem published, but will prbably be published in January or February
Ahahahaha, that’s amazing! Bravo, bravo!
Yes. I will specifically be an anti-anti-noble kenonistic revanchistic genocidal helot
So are you trying to get the parts of Shayard that are part of Aveche now?
“I would have been an anti-noble, but the anti-nobles are just so annoying!”
It is because my helot will support the aristocracy enough to upset people that want to destroy the aristocracy
But like… why tho
Because my helot can’t restore the old Shayardene borders and destroy the entire administrative class at the same time. The Xthonic priests will obviously be unavailable for administration in the new Kenosistic state
