The answer is simple. @poison_mara will poison the hell out of them.
DEAL WITH THEM??? DO YOU THINK I AM A WARRIOR??? RUN, RUN, AND HIDE BETWEEN THE SMELLY COMMONERS No, really that’s the strategy hide and recluit more expendable meat shields.
Why is there no game about Poison_Mara? “Choice of Mara.” Do it guys, give me like half a cent of profit for this great idea.
A game about mara won’t have any audience…Nobody will pay for read it
I can’t say how excited I am for the final chapter. I am determined to make my rebellion work on my terms!
If you’d make one in Spanish I would, I mean it would finally force me to learn a new language again.
However I don’t think Mara’s Latin Lover tricks would work in English, it’s the discussion we’ve had before, the English language makes the bullshit that sounds witty and sophisticated in Spanish into lame pickup lines, at best.
English is not made for love like a proper latin language is made to sell and manage wares.
Congratulations, Havenstone. I’ll be looking forward to it.
I agree with the above comments and I felt the MC’s age and self-confidence were quite believable. The MC is supposed to be someone special and remarkable and otherwise would not be leading a rebellion against the Hegemony.
I am glad to hear that Chapter 2 is coming along and I am looking forward to the next draft for testing.
I must admit that after dozens of tries, I finally had a “somewhat” working method for mules so I would have been willing to handle them myself and initially I’ll probably try to do just that. The caveat “somewhat” is due to the random bad luck: primarily Theurges randomly roasting my sick before I could get enough mules, on rare occasions falling sick causing vital raids to not occur, and bear hunting to a very small extent because it was an inefficient use of personnel. Basically, if the mules being taken care of means the band’s sick do not get incinerated early on, then I’ll be thrilled.
As of the last draft, I felt that Breden was the only RO that we really got the chance to know. Breden’s character appears very motivated by religion which is certainly believable in an illiterate helot. However, for a skeptical MC, religious devotion could be viewed as abhorrent in a RO. I believe text for a skeptical MC at one point mentioned that a skeptical MC felt that the Ecclesiasts had done more to preserve the Hegemony and so deserved more blame than even Kryptasts, Alastors, or Phalangites. I would like the opportunity for a skeptical MC to discuss that with Breden. The goal would be to either (from the MC’s perspective) talk some sense into Breden or to explain to Breden that Breden’s beliefs (particularly if the MC listed dislike of the Hegemony’s self-serving religion as one of the 3 things the MC hated most about the Hegemony when talking to Breden) are the reason for rejecting Breden as a RO.
I tend to choose to play a noble and the main reason is I cannot stand the MC’s father (whether as a noble or a helot) and a helot MC automatically includes the MC’s father in the hunt for a traitor. I would prefer to have the option for a helot MC to choose “aunt” Joana Orchard (who is included in hunting the traitor for a noble MC) over the MC’s father for that role.
Being a noble MC unfortunately appears to result in always getting Kala joining the band (if it is not actually coded that way then my MC was very unlucky). While my MC has no objections to such a blood-thirsty addition to the band, a blood-thirsty RO is out of the question for my MC. My noble MC would have gotten along better with Simon or Suzanne. If it is not already the case, I would prefer it if whether it is Kala or Suzanne that joins would depend on the type of rebellion the MC has begun. For instance, Simon seems more likely to appreciate a rebellion that is picky about its targets while Kala seems more likely to appreciate the more bloodthirsty rebellions. I am guessing that the idea was to create a RO that forces crossing social lines but Simon would be a much better fit for many noble MCs and the idea of the rebellion’s noble leader choosing to romance another noble would still allow for plenty of drama with the rebellion’s helots.
Yes, my mc certainly believes that on account of the fact that their religious nonsense both maintains that abominable caste system and pacifies the (Helot) populace with their fairy tales.
So would I, eventually, most likely when we actually have to govern something, probably near the end of the second or the beginning of the third game. It makes no sense for my mc to butt into his inner circle’s personal beliefs before then, it’s only if and when she might want to start “evangelizing” or being overly lenient to the Ecclesiasts that we’re going to have “problems” with it.
I imagine that for my mc at least the moment when he’s going to be forced to seriously have that conversation with Breden is when the Rebellion has taken Shayard city and my mc wants to let the Abhumans set up their own religious shop there, in direct competition with the remnants of the Xthonic faith.
Well I usually choose for Breden to have the gender my mc is not sexually attracted to (I don’t think he’ll ever be truly in love with anything except his visions for the future or the state, if and when the former achieve a certain measure of success. Which is most likely going to give him issues with almost any RO, come to think of it.
Who joins is determined by anarchy score, as @poison_mara can attest too, as her very noble mc always gets Simon, without fail. I think the anarchy threshold you need to stay below in order to get Simon is 13, or thereabouts.
As for getting along with them, there will be more RO’s in the future if you don’t like either Simon, Breden or Kalt, I believe Calea will in fact be one for male Helots, not the mine would touch that with a 10 foot pole, even if he were into women.
As @idonotlikeusernames has explained it’s not random at all. You go rampant murdering and stole everyone and of course no noble will joining you. Suzanne Simon are no fool "I will go with the rebel that is killing all nobles nearby … Maybe he she just torture me and ask for a ransom. " YOLO
13 or less you are a good person nobles could trust
MOre 13 you only will recruit murderers rapists and helots.
A post was merged into an existing topic: Children of the Gods (Updated 5/23)
Unfortunately…wrong thread, Mara.
Is this…supposed to go to the Children of the Gods thread? lol
It’s (probably) in the right place now
My phone lol freeze and replay to the wrong thread that or there is a spin off called THE REBEL GOD CHILD after destroying ME3 has arrived forum to cause havoc and mayhem
Thank you for explaining that. I suppose I should have just tried going through the source code, but I admit I’m still new at reading ChoiceScript and it takes me a while to read through it.
My MC was renowned for being compassionate and was picky about targeting by only going after Hegemony targets. I would say the anarchy threshold for getting Kala instead of Simon/Suzanne then needs to be raised or adjusted to take into account targeting priorities. Simon/Suzanne may legitimately object to targeting Ecclesiasts (which my MC did), but targeting the rest of the Hegemony should draw no objection.
It occurs to me now that my helot MC and my noble MC made essentially the same raiding choices so far as I recall, but the noble got Kala while the helot got Simon. So either they ended up with different anarchy levels for some reason, or the formula is somewhat more complex than just anarchy levels. Maybe I accidentally started a game right in chapter 3 just to see Simon and maybe that is what I am remembering. I can’t rule that possibility out. It is hard to remember exactly and I suppose since chapter 2 is being changed and is coming along nicely, there is no point in going through the old version of the source code.
No it’s anarchy only. Probably you acted rude or harsh. I don’t know i only had Karl the psycho once . I just don’t raid anyone except the temple and using charisma and some time the tax man without killing no-one. Normally my anarchy is below two lol.
Ironically, the only MC to even be briefly harsh was the helot MC (it was a helot MC who ended up with Simon) who legitimately suspected the MC’s father of betraying people and had him put on trial. I suppose you could also count both MCs executing the traitor that tries to stab you at night. While I can see how that would impact compassion (though my MC still became renowned for being compassionate), I do not understand how that would impact anarchy levels though perhaps I did not notice an increase in anarchy.
I must be remembering starting a game in chapter 3 bypassing chapter 2 on a helot. I seem to recall there was a game-breaking bug on a raid with my helot conversing with Elery so I probably wanted to get past that to resume the game.
I raided only the Hegemony and, going from memory, that consisted of: raid Ecclesiasts and Alastors for mules, raid Hegemony grain barn, raid temple, raid Alastor garrison, raid temple again, and raid winter tax procession. At the temple the first time, while raiding the Alastor garrison, and while raiding the winter tax procession, my MC spared everyone. I find it kind of funny that Simon would reject my MC’s rebellion for causing too much anarchy because when I first met the merchant for smuggling, my MC was praised for stirring up remarkably little anarchy. The MC’s father also repeatedly insults the MC for accomplishing so little which is yet another reason why I would NEVER put up with him in any important meetings.
I really like this idea mostly because the raids seem more action-y and more ike something I have experience with than the handling of numbers. I don’t care about numbers, I just wanna do things D: Though two-hundred and ninety followers does at least sound like I’ll have a fighting chance ^.^;
Right now I’m waiting for chapter two to come out before I move on to chapter three. Also, am I the only one who likes Breden D: I thought he was a cutie v.v Sure he sounds suspicious, but I’ll at least give him a chance to earn back my trust >.>;
