Choice of Games and Hosted Games Recommendations -- Consolidated Thread

There is no romance in Tin Star that is anything less than incredible. There are even two secret options to marry that shouldn’t work, and yet Allen writes it so well that they do.

Can anyone tell me a games that let you play as animal or cool other race?

Or atleast recommended me action genre please

For HG:

The Keeper series allows you to play as nonhuman supernatural creatures: elemental, nephilim, cambion, drakaina, and kitsune, however PC looks human (and only elementals, drakaina, and kitsune can shapeshift into non-human forms). Life of a Wizard lets you play as many fantasy races (including trolls), and Life of a Space Force Captain lets you play as various extraterrestrial races (all of which “feel” quite nonhuman) or even as a robot (by the same author as Life of a Wizard). The Evertree Saga also allows PC to play as an elf, dwarf, brownie, or half-orc. The Vampire Regent has you playing as a vampire. All of these have a lot of action and adventure in them.

For action-adventure games that have you play as a human, the Lost Heir Trilogy (by the author of Life of a Wizard and Life of a Space Force Captain), Tin Star, and both Zombie Exodus games are some of my favorites. The Wayhaven series has a lot of action in it, but it’s also very much a romance game with a strong action, rather than an action game with strong romance. I enjoy the game, but your mileage may vary.

For CoG:

Choice of the Dragon and Choice of the Cat have explicitly nonhuman PCs. A lot of the stories have strong action elements, but I haven’t played many of the more recent ones.

A couple of other games to consider for you animal fix, is Welcome to Moreytown which is about anthropomorphic animals and deals with “Speciesism”

Fox Spirit you play as a fox spirit

And there are two Werewolf games also in the CoG list, Werewolves is in the title so can’t miss them.

Dawnfall (Heart’s Choice): “Live your best life as a star-covered space elf, or as a feathered, magical bird-person”.

Your MC’s job is to open and close portals so there’s some action involved, though IMO it’s more about exploring a world that blends magic and sci-fi tech and making friendships with a ragtag crew.

I’m going through a bit of a stressful time at the moment, so I wondered, what are your recommendations for CoG/HG games that might help someone relax and take their mind off stressful goings-on? I often tend to find these games quite stressful in their own right - high stakes, tough decisions, the constant worry of whether my stats are high enough to pass the next challenge - but I think they have the potential to be a relaxing experience too. So what games are out there that provide a more mellow experience?

I’ve played a lot of fun games recently, but most of those have stakes so not sure if you’d find them relaxing. Have you considered checking out some of the WIP games? That way all you’ve invested is your time. If a game doesnt’ suit, you won’t feel bad for closing it and trying another. I often give them a test run with plans to buy later on. Some I can’t wait to finish! (You hear me Mind Blind?) Do you have a favorite type of game (settings, character archtypes, etc.)?

I find Tally Ho good for this - it’s got a light tone and the stakes are low. Also, the failures are fun and open up even more silliness!

Ok so I totally forgot about slammed and saw it mention on here. Oh boy I forgot how much I loved this game. It’s been years since I’ve played and I’m loving every bit. I just got to the JJ part and I am livid. But I totally recommend this game if you haven’t picked it up yet. I would love another game in the slam universe.

Looking for adventures, exploring alone or in a group, it doesn’t matter.

Also i just want to say i’m super hyped about
A Crown of Sorcery and Steel

Soo Hi…this is my first post here Just wanted to know if anyone knows of any upcoming games related closely to werewolf’s, since i don’t see then much even more soo any related from the Werewolf: Apocalypse series (from the world of darkness). They deserve more love.

There are werewolves in Paranormal Preparatory School, which is coming out next week, but that’s probably not quite what you had in mind.

Jeffrey Dean has promised to get seriously to work on “Werewolves 3” as soon as he’s finished with the IAP coming out for Parliament of Knives later this year, but that’s still going to be quite a ways off.

I’m not sure on the timeline for it being released, but Blood Moon is a popular werewolf WIP that’s nearly completed. (You’ll need to join the Adult Readers group to access the thread.)

Hello. I’m looking for a book where the MC is a vampire or becomes one. I’ve already read ‘Choice of the Vampire’ and ‘Vampire the Masquerade’. If anyone knows of any other games then please let me know?

First of all I really really love COG games incl. hosted & hearts choice games. Earlier i used to forget giving reviews but now I’m gonna reinstall the games i played before and put reviews on playstore.

I’m looking for more COG/hosted/heart choice games that has romance quite like “Heart of the house”?
Please give all the suggestions you can.
Any other game suggestion like this but outside COG is also welcome

Thank you in advance

Hi, So I decided to write this post praising one of the works I have read, it’s called: “shadow society” because it was the reason why I decided to join this amazing community of both readers and writers.
It was the most interesting and beautifully made book I have ever read and it made me love it and love to read the like of it.

For me, the Community College Hero and the Hero Project games were the ones that inspired me to write my own ChoiceScript games, so they’re not only my favorites of the bunch but also I owe a lot to them. After all, I wouldn’t have been here without them!
