Choice of Alexandria - Achievements & Other Hints

I don’t recall ever having that problem, but I know that how you deal with advising her on what happened with her first husband and how she tells her son will have some ramifications with how he turns out.

Yes, getting the little anklebiter to not kill his mother is a little difficult.

I found an amusing way to go about it- I made a deal with the evil vizier to not save the King (on a high medicine playthrough), and in return I asked for the evil vizier to talk me up to the boy until he thought I was the best thing before sliced bread.

Then when the boy comes to me, he believed he about his mother not trying to kill him, and had the evil vizier executed.

Amusing, albeit more machiavellian than I usually like to be.

Can anyone post a rough walthrough of what is needed to marry Berenice? I can’t seem to prevent her son from killing her and all the details about improving their relationship is pretty vague - what exactly do I do?

Just keep yourself on her good side, and when given the chance write about what she did to her first husband instead of just outright telling Ptolemy. It makes it easier to convince the kid not to kill her later.

Make sure your relationship with Ptolemy IV is good enough so he’s more likely to listen to you and kill Sosibus instead of his mom.

As long as you don’t heal him, Ptolemy IV will die, opening Bernice up to romance. I chose the second option (Not being as obvious with my feelings), and got the romance.

((For obvious reasons, make sure to do things to make Bernice happy with you, like supporting Ptolemy’s Olympic run.))

So I’m trying to romance the king, but I can’t get the kid to kill his mother. I have her tell outright about her first husband and I let him fall flat on his face for the race but he still never comes to me about offing his mother. Help please.

And I can’t get her son to kill her.

How do I romance Berenice without having Ptolemy kill her right after? It seems like I can only romance her if I side with Sosibius to get a word in with her, but then he manipulates Ptolemy to kill her afterwards =-= I have played as a more neglectful inventor to progress in inventions with Archimedes (Nukleos) and a healer where I’m as nice to both of them as I can possibly think of (Nekros) and neither have a lasting relationship besides them banging in the woods (which I found kinda hot tbh)

Is Nerfertari a romance option? I find ancient Egyptians hot and she an athletic pirate so I guess she my next option besides a curvy queen

You need to build a relationship with Berenice and her son, as well as trying to limit the decadence with Ptolemy IV. Of course, you should also try to have positive interactions with him, too. Naturally this will cut into invention time, etc.

It’s been a long time since I played the game, so my memory is shoddy but at the start there is an option where you can encourage Berenice to take a hand in raising Ptolemy IV. The other thing is to make sure Ptolemy IV participates in the Olympics, and wins alongside his mother. As for you and Ptolemy, it also helps to encourage him on a stoic path (this makes him stronger to Sosibious’ influence). Other things here is to go learn with other students, encouraging him to share with the zoo, etc.

The pirate queen is definitely romanceable. I didn’t think she was to hard to romance (certainly easier than the conditions for Berenice)

The thing with Nef is that you have to be affirmatively on her side to romance her.

Ptolemy needs to be wise for him not to kill his mother, so you need to limit Sosibius influence on him for you to romance Berenice.

is Archimedes a love interest and if so how do I marry him or be his lover?
