Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

All these King Arthur references nearly made me think that I posted my previous post on a wrong thread. Lol.

Yes. This is the latest version but it’s bugged and old data is still there so if you have any other q’s you can ask this thread since fossils like me could probably help clarify stuff

Zeus is the only dad. Previous versions had the option of any of the trinity now it’s just him

Thx for the quick reply. I know there was an option to get one of the before mentioned gods as dads. Then Rory announced that Zeus is the only one we can get. And after that for a long time I didn’t check this WIP. It was only yesterday that I checked it again. And when I saw that part I thought maybe Rory changed their mind again, but I guess I was wrong. If that’s the case probabaly my bug report is late too. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Edit: I don’t have screenshot for this one but on the cereremony thrown for the Bearer when I get to the choice of giving a speach or not. I choosed not to do that given alluring was my weakest stat and then it ended with an error message. Probably it was mentioned before so just to be sure.

The thing is, in the demo we made a deal with Zeus and the other Gods. If we became the hero they wanted they would grant us freedom, immortality and a place among the Gods. So does this mean that our MC is the first bearer to ever live forever with the essence in their possesion? And if we become immortal, when Aeson dies, will our immortality end? Or maybe Aeson becomes immortal too since his other half became immortal.

Omg, it was a photo finish! I really wasn’t convinced that the Witch Trials were going to win, it kept gaining and losing its place over the course of the day. Very exciting, nonetheless!

At the very least you now know that there is very high demand for an Arthurian flashback.

Huge demand

Bigger than I ever expected in a game about Greek gods, lol.

Isn’t Aeson supposed to be granted immortality with us if we win the Hero Trials?

I know he mentioned that the gods are counting the Bearer and Bestower as one person in the trials, but I’m not 100% certain that they would then grant immortality to both if they won.

If we did grant immortality, would our new ‘‘Godly’’ body be able to hold the essence forever?

He probably will since he mentioned that the gods wants us to enter the Trials as a single person

And would it be enough to outlast Aeson’s death if/when it happens? Would he be reborn without us having to die?

Honestly, I’ve never liked the idea of immortality because it’s pretty terrifying to contemplate, and the game makes it all the more horrifying with he prospecg of having to deal with the Olympians for the rest of existence like, nooooooope, no thanks. I’d rather die.

I sure hope that’s the case! But I’m not gonna put it above @Rohie TO RIP MY HEART TO SHREDS reveal a dramatic and compelling twist where you have to choose which one of you gets the immortality…

cough We already all know who I’m going to choose if that was the case…

whats Aeson whole deal? what is he in the “great scheme of the universe”? isn’t he just the scabbard of our sword? wouldn’t his part be over once with got immortality and the transfer was compleated?

You have no idea how easy you’ve got it, @MichaelCrank:sob:

It’s just like in Dragon Age: Inquisition where you have to choose whether to save Hawke or Stroud (because I refuse to put my boi Alistair in this situation), but of course I’m gonna choose Stroud, the Wardens need someone to help rebuild them, but then Varric hates me, BUT VARRIC. THE WARDENS ARE NECESSARY HAVE YOU EVER EVEN BEEN IN A BLIGHT, I HAVE, HAWKE HAS, I’M SO SORRY PLEASE FORGIVE ME BUT ALSO I’M RIGHT PLEASE DON’T HATE ME.

Well the thing is that no one, not even the gods, even knows what’s going to happen once Aeson passes the Essence to us. Maybe he’ll die, maybe he won’t but he’ll be powerless. That’s up to anyone’s speculation though.

And DA was actually my favorite series lol I was so obsessed and I’ll admit I was in love with Morgan.

More like he’s gonna put his sword in my scabbard HEYO badum dum tss!

Ok but seriously, even if he doesn’t retain his powers, he’s still got (what seems to be) the loyalty of the current generation of demigods. That is super useful regardless of whether you romance him or not. And on top of that he’s already a very accomplished warrior and hero. He’s nothing to sniff at, is what I’m saying, and would make a nigh invaluable ally.

Plus…we don’t know if he can’t actually revoke the power of the Essencse…it’s just speculation on my part (with ZERO evidence, btw), but I feel like it’d be mighty dumb of Cronus if he gave the Bestower half the unuverse’s power just they could work as a glorified door knob that just falls apart the first time it’s used.
No, I have a suspicion that the Bestower is more of a stop gap measure, a faucet rather than a one use door knob, who can control the flow of power in the Bearer, a failsafe.

@MichaelCrank I know what you mean. I still have a pretty strong crush on Alistair. I can’t even replay Origins without getting as giddy as a school girl every time I talk to him, it’s crazy!

So let me make sure I understood you correctly, you’re basically saying that Aeson probably could just make us stronger for a brief period of time?

And great characters tend to make a lasting impression on us. All hail King Alistair!

Yes?
I theorize that he can lower or increase the amount of Essence magic you have access to.

As you said, it’s never happened before, so nobody knows if you get all your powers at once or something, but I feel that if you did, that would cause enormous strain on your psyche because you’re essentially a human conduit to all the universe. It’d probably fry your circuits! I think for both your sakes…he wouldn’t open the floodgates unless absolutely necessary…and that it would become absolutely necessary near the end of the game. Dun dun dun!!

All hail King Alistair! May his reign be long and cheese filled!

the whole reason for him to divide the power and hid it is so he can once free can squeeze the essence out of our body into his. the whole stop gag will only prejudicate his plans.

that would negate the whole “once you hit 18 and the transfer begins you die because is the power of freaking universe going your body at once” deal.

I wonder just strong our powers are going to be… Maybe strong enough to literally Dr. Manhattan explode someone with a finger snap?

Gimme a few minutes to reply because I have to replay the game to double check my understanding of the Essence and Bearerhood.

I just wanted to let you know that I read it so that you don’t sit around for like ten or twenty minutes wondering where the hell I went, lol :slightly_smiling_face:
