The check to define the father only checks for the state of the seeker choice and if Wit/Allure is higher than Strength, so, like in your case, if you have both Allure and Wit higher than Strength the first God to appear in the text is the one you get.
This is how it is right now:
*if ((var2 = true) and (Wit > Strength))
This gets you Hades as the father;
*elseif ((var2 = true) and (Allure > Strength))
And this gets you Zeus;
And if you have both Wit and Allure higher than Strength you always get Hades regardless of how high your Allure is because he’s the first the game checks your stats against.
Changing the Hades if clause to
*if ((var2 = true) and ((Wit > Strength) and (Wit > Allure))) might fix the issue? If choicescript supports 3 conditions…
I just played the update and I loved it!
I’m already in love with Aeson and can’t wait for the angst and the drama especially even more with Hades as my father and being in love with him as Paris in the past. I can already feel the pain.
if you choose to go to class, you can play baseball with some kids, go to the jewelry store (for the Eye), or get some street food (choice for + 5 strength, allure, wit, or both allure and wit)
Okay, so I had a question about the item you can receive in this update. The lady who gives you the eye says that she was planing on giving it to you as an offering during the Trials if I remember correctly, so does that mean it will be possible to get it later if you don’t get it then?
I was hoping for Hades at first, but now I’m starting to like the idea of Poseidon as my father.
I’m planning to romance Avery although I do think she needs a lot more character development. Maybe she could be a potential dance partner for after the ceremony as well?
the little scene near the end of the Sparta flashback, when the MC felt stars winking in and out of existence or something like that, that’s likely what an immortal and whole Bearer would be like. Lavei would have control of cosmic forces. Aeson already hinted at the MC’s power when he talked about how the gods and demigods can’t do “magic”, they just have an affinity to some sort of element, whereas the MC’s essence can be powered by raw emotion.
Okay. I have now played through the game with Poseidon as my MC’s dad, and I’m actually pretty satisfied. ^^To me he seem a lot more honest about loving Priscilla, and like he really revered her, compared to Zeus (frin what I saw in the “tale of the two dads” bug). That fact that he also doesn’t expect anything from the MC, and is so happily surprised if you choose to give connecting a try is really nice. It just shows an understanding and acceptance, if the MC might feel abandoned and then wants nothing to do with him.
Edit: I think Aeson is an interesting character. It’ll be nice for my MC to actually dig through/tear down that whole Hero persona display and actually meeting/interacting with the real him. ^^ I’m also interested in the difference in Aesons friendships with the trio.
Zeus might be a potential future threat - Calypso did mention something about the MC haunting his dreams - which could be understandable - if the MC has the potential to become more powerful than him AND obtain immortality, he could view that as a disturbance to his authority as leader of all the Gods and by extension the rest of the world.
Do you think he might be planning a counter-measure to make sure the MC doesn’t threaten his position? Or does he actually trust the MC won’t pose a threat?
I loved playing as one of the MC’s past life, its so awesome playing a different incarnation of the same… well I’m not sure if ‘person’ is the right label…
I even gender swapped the MC’s past life, its kind of nice giving them their own personality and everything, though in the end it is a little sad that they were fated to cease to be. It really had such a human element to it, they all felt so believable and I found myself coming to care for them, even if they were ultimately just visions from the past.
In fact now I really want to explore other past lives, this story game is just so fantastic so far.
My game is still bugging out? I’ll post a screencap later but so far wit > allure > strength, and I did not kill the seeker. So I’d get Poseidon as a father right? If I understood the conditions correctly? Or does killing the seeker take primacy as a flag?
I’ll work on the dad code some more, but it seems impossible. Maybe I’m not using an efficient code. I’ll update it once I finish the ceremony scene, so I won’t mess up all your save slots.
