I’d like to thank you for reading my work. It’s very early in development, just under 10K words. I’m happy to take any and all criticisms. Though I’m looking for your general impression of the prologue, any consistency issues (Ex. the story referring you as the gender you did not select), or any recommendations or ideas. My real life is very busy (I’m at work typing this now lol) so updates will be very sporadic. Thank you again, and I hope you enjoy.

Thanks will look into it.

Did not see any of that.
Anyway, I liked the prologue, good job!
I am always in for differences between playing as a male/female protagonist, so it was no surprise I enjoyed it. :upside_down_face:

Incredible! I really liked what I read, waiting to see how this goes.

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Writing the two protagonist differently, has been a bit of a challenge. But very enjoyable.

Thank you so much. I’m interested to see where it goes to, as I always end up adding new things to my notes!

I’ll be interested to see where this goes. There were some issues with flow, the narrative seems a bit choppy given the sentence structure you’re using. Was that a conscious choice to set the feel of the character?

It was. Given that the plot will focus more on action. I wanted it to feel a bit more fast paced. I’ve been reading it back, and some parts I plan to go back over with a fine tooth comb. I just don’t want the reader to get bogged down with exposition. Thank you for pointing this out.

Games with different interactions based on your gender? Well color me interested. Can’t wait to see what you’ll create here.

An absolutely fascinating premise, and an excellent execution. I look forward to further progress, and can recommend this one wholeheartedly.

Small critique: the CIA don’t call themselves Agents, they call themselves Officers. The FBI are the ones who go by Agent.

Thanks for letting me know. Originally Victoria wasn’t going to be CIA. And my research involving the CIA command structure wasn’t compete at the time of me releasing this. So some things weren’t changed. But I’m glad you caught this for me!

I mean whether the CIA calls themselves “agents” or “officers” is actually a matter of perspective and terminology. It ultimately doesn’t have a significant impact on their core work and function

Calling the CIA “agents” or “officers” doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Both terms are used, with “officer” being official and “agent” more popular to the public

Though I suppose you can go with the “right” term

Thank you for your insight. And I do agree, as agent does sound better. I don’t know a huge amount about the agency, and I want to be as accurate as I can with the writing. So I’ll have to look more into this.

Only in comparison to the public. Any CIA officer would heavily protest the “agent” myth. No one in the CIA goes by agent. The ones who work in the field recruiting assets (spies) go by “case officer” or “handler”, but never agent.

Edit: If you want to get really into the terms, have our Ex-Military MC call them a Spook.
