@Boman19 Alright I’ll ask you the same thing I did Xero for the same reason what did you think of the character profiles?
The character profiles looked great. Will it be possible for our character to gain a level of fame or infamy on par with the Silver Wolf?
I just started reading it but one thing I noticed right off the bat is that the way you refer to your friends in the beginning for the first few pages before their names are introduced is extremely awkward. Also, the reveal with you saying his entire name in a casual conversation is the cherry on the awkward sundae.
Speaking of which, I’m curious, what does Kurihara’s name mean?
@Shoelip After play testing through it myself I agree, but things like that are to be expected with WIPs and I plan to correct it after chapter 1 of the story is finished.
I played this game, only to a certain extent. I ended up dying. I’ll have to restart the game. I think it’s a good game so far. You have nailed down the details to paint a picture inside the head. I feel if there was stats add. It might make the game more interesting.
There was one choice when I died. I really had no way of knowing if I would die or not. It was a 50/50 chance with no clear choice that was different. It’s interesting so far. I think a little improvement could be done by giving more choices. Early on in the game maybe selecting your own weapon. Giving some detail about what each weapon would it, its advantages and disadvantages. Of course you don’t have include all of that. Just my opinion so far.
@Shawnheatherly Well it be fame for your side and Infamy for the OUR.
@Jason_Miller Are you sure you’re reviewing the right game. Cause I haven’t put in an option where the player is confirmed to be dead.
In regards to the weapons however… I plan to give an entry in the codex for all weapons with an actual name
Oh wait I just reread your statement. If you mean you’re talking about having the option of selecting your equipment before a fight, then yes the first of such options will be there in chapter 1
Oh i thought they were really well written
@Boman19 Okay allow me to rephrase my question, what part of the codex review was your favorite?
I’m fairly certain. It’s
Unless it’s just the ending of the chapter. It says “My Death?” I apologize in advance if I’m mistaken. However, it appears I died in the game. I could be mistaken.
@Jason_Miller Oh okay now I see what you mean. No you didn’t die that’s just the end of the dream sequence.
I see. My mistake the whole. My death then brought me back to main menu. I assumed it was the actual death.
I personally like the characters bit. The other parts though need to be shortened a little
@Jason_Miller With the next update, you’ll get to see what happens post dream sequence, the first two choices where your stats matter, and the end of chapter 1
So it is in fact a dream sequence? Ok… for a while I was thinking that you were actually suddenly and inexplicably in control of an enemy ace pilot’s body, and you suddenly and inexplicably started acting just like they would in combat and killing without remorse. Like, the way it starts, with you just suddenly waking up and not really having control of your actions feels like a dream, but then you suddenly make it seem like you did have control, and this is all real, in which case, why not use your obviously vastly superior skills to just not deliver the killing blow after disabling the enemy mech? This whole scene is really confusing.
@Shoelip I realize that it may seem confusing, but there’s a reason why I structured the dream sequence that way, but revealing why however would be a major plot spoiler so I won’t
Also haven’t you had dreams that felt incredibly realistic even though you knew it was a dream
Like when you dream your falling and wake up feeling like you really are falling?
That’s more like feeling the after effects of an intense dream.
What I’m talking about though this may not be the best example is like you know you’re in a dream when you see the psycho killer approach you, however you still feel the very real fear of death, and if he catches you the pain of having your arm slowly being removed from your body
Not as far as I can remember. Although I have been strongly emotionally affected by dreams in rare instances it was only after I woke up.
I’ve considered several possible explanations, though of course if I talked about them I’d probably end up spoiling the real one somewhere along the line so I guess I’ll just wait and see. I just wanted to point out that if you are actually in control it doesn’t really make sense to only give you the choices to try to do things you don’t want to do.
This isn’t really a big thing but that comment about you having to kill the other guy and the other guy having to kill you made my head hurt with the lack of logic. I mean… I guess that’s the point, but again, your character isn’t a soldier, so why would they jump to that circular logic rationalization?
