Sigh. This whole line kind bring me of two minds. I wanna read the romance stuff, but I don’t want to read the erotica, but I don’t mind erotica as long as it is emotional, but stuff like picking penis side is way too uncomfortable for me.
I just… don’t know how I can ever decide which stories are something I would enjoy and which I should stay far away from.
But at the very least could we have a dictonary/overview of the terms. I do not know what bd meant for example and I do not want to google potential porn since that means that google will try and sell me porn for the next three months.

And about this game I am not gay but I enjoy the story as it is a great story with erotica. And that’s weird and for me is a big selling factor. And i found a perfect husbando in the game so YAY…
that and the fact i am no shameful of be the big fan of the game lol.

You are absolutely correct. Successfully communicating the type of game (including kinks) will be important to people enjoying these games.
I remember hearing once that romance novels literally have codes indicating very specific types of lovers, kinks involved, and basic plot outlines, so if you wanted to make sure that the lover was tall, blond, liked to be tied up, and that you ended up getting married and having kids, that was a specific code that readers could look for. As I said about “failure is deemphasized” and “the romance is the main plot,” there shouldn’t be much in the way of surprises in a romance. Readers are looking for a sure thing.
We at Heart’s Choice will have to come up with our own code to communicate the characteristics of a game; the “m/m bd-inflected” was a nascent attempt at something like that. If you were unpleasantly surprised playing the game, I apologize for not spelling that out further.

There is no need to apologize. I haven’t read the game - exactly because I was not sure what I would get.
I just really do not know how to approach this line and thought that already with Jazz age, but since people were asking general questions and being confused about terms, I thought it a good idea to jump in here.
But, yes, we need a lot more information than we do with other games and to develop a code for stuff. I do like Maras idea about pinning.

Since I’m ace, I don’t doubt that many of these will feature stuff that I’d be…kind of “what on earth do I even pick, I FEEL NOTHING” at, but I’m really looking forward to these stuff.

I am demi romantic but like i am role playing a character I have fun living crazy adventures and like this games have actually a good story is really easy immerse in the story. But i have a dirty mind so for me is natural lol

I will say, I usually don’t like playing dudes…but this one is ridiculous and fun to beta! Yeah, it is pretty much MOSTLY sexual (overly so…which once you give into this universe becomes pretty fun and hilarious) but I also appreciate the wrestling aspect. I was super into wrestling as a kid, and the matches are written pretty well. There is more sex than wrestling…and sex is IN the wrestling…but it is still a good time.

Uhh this sounds really good. It is so sad, that I have no real time for beta testing. But a game by @JimD and what @poison_mara has to say about it, makes it an instant buy for me. Hooray for Hearts Choice^^

Many people is shy trying out erotica moreover if it is from gender or dynamics aren’t their own. For instance until few years ago for Many Spanish straight men say have seen films or something that contains gay content was a taboo. Thankfully with Almodovar and many other magnificent artists that includes lot of variables now is something Normal. But still i noticed that American culture in general has shyness about talking sensuality and trying stuff. So like i really think is a fun story with fun choices I try to cheer people to trying even if aren’t gay or male. Role playing includes trying be other shoes and discovering other views.
Also i feel in love with one of the guys like top ten husbando.
So @JimD @jasonstevanhill if I am being a tiresome spokeswoman telling me and i will shut up to trying people trying the beta

Ooops seems I misinterpreted that, for me coder was equal to writer. But that does not change my interest. I like playing male MC a lot, when there are male ROs, so everything good on this one. Looking Forward to this game. @poison_mara take care that we get a good active part in the Bd section.

Just to be clear, when you say a game is x/y, that means x is the possible genders of the MC and y is the genders of the RO’s, right?
Because that format is used pretty inconsistently around the internet.
