A Study In Steampunk: Choice by Gaslight

Hmm… The only thing that seems you could do is poisoning everyone with your medicine stat other than that…
Welp.
He may not be stealthy enough for that. If not, then yes, his set of stats is unwinnable.

Not every character has the skills needed to be an effective saboteur, particularly a dedicated Sanctifier. Unfortunately, there’s no Option B here, except letting the Empire fall.
For those of you who have finished a playthrough where the Rising fails: who do you think killed Callahan and Kendall?

I assumed that the Vlask had assassins in place in case the plan fell apart, because loose ends and all that, but this time I just noticed the way Woodward oh-so-subtly hints at a future that involves dead Callahan if you and Alexandra negotiate a silent alliance with his people: “So… if Callahan happened to die during this Rising, I’d be negotiating with you two from then on?”

But I’d love to hear other people’s wild guesses.

Damn, that sucks. Oh well, time for a replay.

Kendall shoots Callahan for failing him, then eats a bullet rather than be captured.

How do you get the labor reform bill passed?

It appears I have ran into the ‘no save box’ bug that other android folks have mentioned. I am at the transition between Part 1 and Part 2. Can’t move on. The first play through was fine, and I did manage to get through the save points multiple times(I restarted a couple times). Not sure what could have gone wrong.

I did I am the one responsible

Love this game cant believe i didnt notice it before

I have to add a new CoG to my list of favorites: A Study In Steampunk: Choice by Gaslight. I’m absolutely blown away. Incredible length, amazing characters, a lot of different important choices, and deep, meaningful plots. The only thing I think that could have been better is some of the choices could have had a little more substance, but all in all, it’s still easily a 5/5.

This game ruined me for other games. I praise it to everyone who listens. It is very well written, interesting, has a lot of replay value, characters with depth and the romance is not flat like most choice games out there.

Kudos for an excellent game!

Ps: Just asking but how many romances are in the game;

I’m pretty sure there are just three: Alexandra, Grace, and Finch.

Great job author! I loved this game, 5 star review left on the app store. It is a shame you can’t be with grace no matter what you do.

I know how you feel :sob:

I think I was on #18 at one point. :stuck_out_tongue: Pretty sure Lucid has been even higher than Steampunk, but either way, #14 is great.

Is there any way to save the Prince’s life when you are escorting him on the dirigible.

@Archangel3713 I am assuming you mean when you are trying to help him?
You have to choose based on your highest stat.

I just finished playing many routes while romancing Finch and Alexandra, and I don’t think I can go back and romance Grace. Finch was the most awesome romance. He was my character’s partner and equal. Even when I am romancing him, I am not the most important person on his agenda, he has his own adventures. Though that could be said for the other romances as well.

Just finished the game, and what a game. One of my favourites for sure, I love the story, the length, the different paths and the characters. Even if at the end I can say I lost, I just want to try again and discover other paths.

Thanks for this game.

I bought this game on Steam to support the Choice of Game sales, since I’d love to see more of them on Steam. I was initially turned off by the male-only protagonist option, but quickly fell in love with the story and the writing. And I’ve always been a big Sherlock Holmes fan, so I loved that I could so clearly see it’s inspiration in the story.

I think it helped that I, like many others, was already going for a John Watson-type character. It definitely made the playthrough a lot of fun.
