@ParrotWatcher sorry I missed the part about the rifle. Ugh, I guess it is truly a bug. I’ll fix it. Sorry about that.
/pumps fist in victory/ I’m kind of cackling at the fact that I got hooked on a character who literally doesn’t say more than a few words (as of now) and he’s a potential RO. I feel like a giddy high school freshman all over again!
You made my day, Jim.
On an unrelated note, I actually like that reverend fella we can run into in the suburbs (?). For some reason, he reminds me of that guy from AMC’s Preacher.
On a somewhat unrelated note, out of curiosity @JimD, are you going to explore PTSD in ZE:SH? Not gonna lie, I ask that mostly with Lopez in mind, but I figure it could honestly apply to all of the survivors, really.
In chapter 2, when you offer Lyle and Jillian a meal, if you are out of food, you get the option to make a small meal which causes you to have -2 portions of food.
In chapter 3, after choosing to skip breakfast I found these errors.
Despite your hunger, you have You pour a glass of orange juice for breakfast.
In the stats screen there is -1 portions of food and 17.5 bottles of water.
Taking water from the tub increases the count to 32.5 bottles of water.
If you’re a vegetarian and go to the convience store, can you have an option to buy vegetarian bacon/meat?
Could you add a option to play either Zombie Exodus or AWUOT in the video game hobby?
i have lots of ideas but i’m not smart enough to write my own book/interactive novel
No one haves to be smart to write a book or interactive novel you just have to be creative that’s all there to it.
ChoiceScript is very easy to pick up–and people are always willing to give commentary on what they (dis)like about your gamebook.
See: this thread.
We’re all just giving @JimD our personal opinions. Also: wait when did Day 3 get added? Now I’ve gotta go play. I feel so out of the loop.
theirs coding involved the coding makes the multiple choices possible
That why I’m taking it one step at a time and I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed but learning how to code.
i have a 345 posts read and a 4 hour read time, wow
i guess i been spending some time reading topics
I only suggest it because New Game+ seems more palatable to the “I never pay to win” crowd. I haven’t heard of anyone complaining about it as DLC in the Witcher series for instance and it gives you a massive advantage on replay. I feel like selling a New Game+ mode IAP would garner fewer nasty reviews from the “offended.”
is Zombie Exodus:Safe Haven going to be on steam? i saw that they have choice of game Works on steam to buy
I’d say it’s more than likely considering the first one got onto Steam and was well-received.
Edit: Didn’t feel like double-posting, so I’m editing this one instead. It’s bug reporting time!
Is the “Treat your wounds” option temporarily disabled, @JimD? Every time I select it (it’s popped up once per day iirc), my police officer’s health stays at 88%. On that note, is the “Acquire vehicle” option supposed to appear even if you already have a car? Or does it show up if the number of survivors you have exceed the number of passengers your current car(s) can fit?
Not sure if this typo’s been pointed out yet, but when choosing to visit the grocery store, Woody says the following:
"Good luck out there. Best if I stay put and watch the place. My feet are something terrible with the miles I've **point** on them past few days."
It should be “put on them”, no?
So… Thelma’s dialogue when it comes to the, uh, discounts seems a li’l… clogged sometimes? I’m not complaining about the multiple discounts, it’s just that the way it flows is so abrupt - as if they were meant to be singular and alone. This is from my playthrough as my movie star:
"Let's see—the damage is $810. Since you fit in here, I'm giving you a discount. Since I like the way you conduct yourself, I'm giving you a five-percent discount. As a fan of your movies, I'm giving you a five-percent discount."
Maybe I am going crazy. After all, my last play before this update was two updates ago. Sorry if it has been annoying,
Going through again and trying the “trick them into leaving” option, it looks like you say you are part of a militia that are hunting zombies. Even though its a lie, after spotting their vehicle, weapons, and ability, would it not make sense to invite them to join? For authenticity sake if nothing else.
What is everyone else’s opinion on the “hunger meter”? It seems like no matter what I do my character is always hungry, and I normally always give them the biggest available meal to eat when its an option.
My one request is that the text be bolded or italicized. I keep skimming over it and next thing you know my poor MC is starving.
I don’t mind the persistency of it. It’s pretty realistic so far. For now, food is aplenty and I’m not worried but I’m sure in the future it’ll be a concern.
“Realistic” is subjective. Personally, I only need to eat twice a day (breakfast and dinner) and they aren’t particularly big meals (though again, 'big" is subjective). And I don’t know about you, but after I’ve eaten it doesn’t matter how hungry I was before, I’m not going to be hungry again an hour later.
@Bugreporter thanks for pointing out those errors eating/drinking
Maybe I can add a very few packages.
I can’t believe I didn’t do AWUoT! ZE wouldn’t work for that option though.
@The_Chosen_Plump hard to predict if Safe Haven will go on Steam. In truth, I don’t even have a contract yet for Safe Haven. In theory, Hosted Games could reject it.
I’ll investigate.
I allow someone to get one vehicle per day. By chapter 4, travel becomes more important and options become useful.
She offers so many discounts,it’s tricky to make it sound natural but I will work on it.
@WolfieGrey [quote=“WolfieGrey, post:3916, topic:2000”]

Hmm, it makes sense. I can add the option.
I thought about this but wondered if people will stop to look. I may slow down hunger. The hunger messages annoy me as I test.
I meant it more so in that it seems to follow the typical “three meals a day” for the whole healthy metabolism and caloric intake shebang. It might be better if it notified us only once we’re reaching the point that hunger becomes an actual issue though. I kinda agree with you on not needing the game to tell me my characters starting to feel a bit nippish and could go for a snack.
im surprised Jim Dattilo even mentioned me
Speaking of snacks… @JimD What are the candy bars for? Do you think it would be possible to use those (and/or packets of chips, crackers, etc) to snack on and lower our hunger by a little?
And I agree with you on the “annoying while testing”, especially when it shows up on every page. “I just fed you a large meal and your still thinking about food? Get it together man, there’s the apocalypse to prepare for”.
Well damn. There goes my plan of trying to solo it out in the woods, unless getting rid of them later becomes an option.
Edit:
So I was just playing as someone with high medicine, and I noticed the text said that I had several bottles of antibiotics, except upon looking at my inventory I only had one.
I was wondering, how many uses will we get out of the antibiotics and first aid kit before we need more?
When Jamie rang and asked if we needed anything, I notice the “duffel bag” is a choice. I was assuming that whatever gear he bought he would have placed in a spare bag anyhow for ease of transportation. Doesn’t this seem kind of redundant?
If we play with the dependent challenge and take him with us, are we able to use his schoolbag to carry more items?
Something that just sprung to mind, but when gathering supplies, if we have a high athletics (and this could be stretching it) could we obtain something like protein supplements?
So choosing “canteen and pack of water purifying tablets” only adds one? I get that you need to balance it, but I thought there would be more than one in a pack.
Why can’t use use a water purifying tablet in the bathtub? Is it too big an area? If so, we could just use more than one tablet (if we have more at that point).
hey @JimD can’t believe I haven’t thought to ask this sooner(and haven’t seen it answered) but what happens if you don’t eat/drink? always had the option to consume maximum amount and haven’t noticed. so does it reduce your stats/increase stress? as I could see it reducing physical stats like strength/agility and skills like close combat etc. Also if you don’t eat/drink over a long enough time period will you die of hunger/thirst?
