This helps …thanks
Did you previously select to clear space in the “add an addition or improvement” option? If not, that is the problem. You must choose the option that says you want to begin construction before actually assigning tasks, just like any other building or reinforcement
Like ParrotWatcher said, you only get a select few opportunities in Part 3 to increase this. I know that watching the 30 minute presentation in the Jefferson Science Lab in Chapter 11 is one of these, but there are others too that I can’t confirm.
Has the patch come through on OS yet, or is it still pending?
Some bugs in part 3:
~Clear Space is broken in chapter 8 under assignments now. The task doesn’t show up to assign anyone to it even after planning for it. It was working fine before today, but now it’s not.
Edit: Clear Space is working again in chapter 8. ^^
~Reinforcements and Additions/Improvements keep refreshing in their respective menus as if they’ve never been planned or built, even though they were and are already completed. I think this is also preventing the build tower options from ever showing up for me because I’ve never gotten the option to. I’ve been having this issue for awhile now, but forgot to report it.
Does anyone know if during the mission scout the Lancelot depot, if you go through the decon process, put on a hazmat suit and active the security system are you able to fight the new army?
I only have the game on Steam, I have no way of knowing if the patch has gone through no other platforms. Sorry.
I really appreciate you giving patch notes JimD.
You’re the first dev/author who i’ve seen do that.
Thank you for that.
The security system will attack them outside, but I don’t think you can personally fight them. I haven’t tried going out to talk to them without security activated yet.
There is no save option after the end of part 3 ?
Oh i died unexpectedly in chapter 11 and i thought part 3 has ended … be careful in lab research part of this chapter 11
IDK why I’m playing these games
I hate zombies, they scare the shit out me; and not even the fun scared, just the kind that makes my anxiety and hypochondria worse
You can’t fight them. Tried many times. You end up sneaking away while they pretty much secure the depot if you don’t activate the defenses. So in a sense, it’s best to have the employee records hacked/edited, and the defenses active so you can more than likely return without incident later on I suspect.
So, some confusion. I remember asking, and it was said that we would be able to back track and set up SurvNet servers in places we’d already been, but didnt have the materials. Like the school, or gun shop.

Is it just me, or does it feel like we dont have NEARLY enough time to build up the camp. Is it actually possible to build the watch towers, and if so are they even useful?

What happened to the PTSD challenge?

The the main side plots are Military, Scientists and Hacker, right?
Military takes you to Lancelot, even though you go there anyway. Hacker lets you contact Julianne for some much missed passion.
But what does the scientist even do yet? We can get all the samples, the virtual virus model and samples from infected animals but cant do anything
- Also, a bug that cropped up for me. When the fight for the hill happens now, it will randomly unequip all my weapons leaving only my hands.
I turned the security system on and left with the armored SUV on my first playthrough. I figured security was the only real way to keep them from getting Lancelot without blowing it up. I’m not entirely sure if the option of asking for support from Faulkner actually kept them out or not, but the helicopter did attack them. Thank you for letting me know about the other options. It kills me every time I have to restart part 3 just to try all of the choices available. Even more so if I accidentally misclick. lol What I wouldn’t give for chapter save points.
Question Jim, in part 1, if I am trying to find a cure, does it matter if I choose between developing a treatment for those infected or to develop a vaccine?
Or does both choices lead to the same outcome?
@JimD I posted previously on discord, but not sure if you saw it.
If Reilly is your RO and Nora is alive, he can’t be your roommate. As in the code for him to be your roommate (set roommate “Reilly”) is literally not there.
Unless you’re not supposed to be able to room with Reilly, in which case, the text doesn’t make that clear.
Ah, ok thanks! And yeah chapter saves would be nice
As for number 2, you are able to make all the defensive improvements and many additions (chicken coop, workshop, infirmary, greenhouse, etc) to the junkyard as long as you have a lot of survivors and you prioritize building it up. I did not notice any differences from having a maxed defended camp and a medium defended camp but I assume things like the watchtowers and the trench will play a role in part 4?
@JimD: Spotted this in the code. Currently, Lopez won’t volunteer to join the Silverthornes if he’s dating the MC or Jaime, but can if he’s dating Tommy, and I assume that that’s not intentional.
- Not implimented yet.
- You can more or less build up everything, if you commit everyone but 7 (3 Watch Duty-Rosie/Rachel/Driver-Edgar, then Tommy, then Jude. 2 Chores- Parker/Nora/Kelly. 2 Cleaning up Junkyard-Jillian/Bailey) Thats how I go about it.
- Currently it’s bugged to be available BUT you can access it through editing the save file.
- Correct, with the scientist your supposed to do research and look into the virus. However, given how much Part 3 is a ‘build up the base’ chaptering, and the lack of actual ‘lets do some research’ on Jim’s part, it’s a missed chance on Jim’s part and big issue. Sure, we might be able to do some research in Part 4 but still.
