Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, Part 4 Public Beta - updated 7/27/2025, 910,000+ words

Oh, so once part 4 releases, you’ll have to pay for it even if you already paid for the first three parts?

@Ultra_In_Something Instead of having all of the different sequels and continuations of a series in separate apps, Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven includes everything in 1 app. I don’t know why other developers don’t do it this way, because it makes it much easier and cleaner to continue stories.

And yes, you have to purchase each part separately. Each part is long. Part 4 is already over 1 million words alone. That would be the equivalent of most other top games where you have to download each app separately or by them individually on the omnibus.

The game has already had one free update and another one is planned.

Does that make sense?

Would we ever possibly be able to get some more professions? I know it would probably take a lot of work considering you would have to rewrite things, but after part 4 is done, i would love to see this game fleshed out and expanded upon more in terms of character creation. Here’s a list of possible professions i think would be really cool:

  • Parkour Expert (it would be kickass being able to play as someone like Kyle Crane from Dying Light and just jump from rooftop to rooftop with ease. It would unlock new parkour/free-running moves and make your character much more nimble and athletic both in combat and out of it.)
  • Professional Athlete (baseball player, basketball player, football player… like the original ZE which let you be a basketball player. Ex. Being a baseball player would make you a powerhouse with blunt weapons and make you more than efficient at throwing. It would also work like the movie star profession, making you famous and thus acting as a dialogue buff.)
  • Lawyer (Being a lawyer, naturally, would make your character very good at reading people, as well as leading the survivor group. Further, being a lawyer would make survivors trust your word more, and make it easier to rally and manage a large group of survivors.)
  • Teacher (Being a teacher may seem like a bad choice, but i think a teacher could do many things in the zombie apocalypse that would make them a proficient leader. I mean, firstly, a teacher’s job is TO LEAD; leading a classroom of 15+ kids and teaching them about all sorts of topics. Further, being a teacher would, like a lawyer, have survivors trust your word more. It would also make activities where you teach the survivors much shorter and efficient. Lastly, i think it would be really cool if, as a teacher, you would start in Chipper Ridge high, getting a backstory of the shitshow that happened there in your own characters POV. Heck, maybe the backstory would even involve Madison and Brody. Maybe the MC was their teacher?)
  • Hunter (Definitely didn’t think of Darryl Dixon when writing this) (being a hunter would be pretty cool. You would be superb at butchering animals, as well as hunting them too. However, it can only be picked if you chose to live in the countryside and aren’t a vegetarian. You would also be stealthy, and it would be pretty interesting if you got a passive buff when in the woods or countryside. ex. You can blend in with the environment easier… better at sneaking through forests… can easily spot hidden things in the brush or woods.)
  • Businessman (Being a businessman would be pretty cool. Although not fit for a survival scenario, it would provide unique dialogue and story/game events. Ex. You are much more efficient at managing your stock of supplies, and can haggle with or outsmart those trying to trade with you, or those giving to you. Like if you pick the businessman job, and ask one of your neighbours to give you supplies, you would be able to convince them into giving you more. You would also be a more trustworthy individual, since you are the image of professionalism and success. However, those who heavily dislike capitalism and business practices would probably feel the opposite way.
  • Priest (Being a priest would give you a backstory that involves (my main man!) Church. Not only that, but it would also make you a trustworthy and likeable figure and a beacon of hope to survivors in dark and gruelling times, thus making you a great leader. Being a priest would make certain interactions different, like the inability to have premarital sex, or would generally make your character more wise in various situations. It would also, though, make your character quite hesitant to combat.)

Anyway, that’s my TEDtalk! Hope Jim sees this!

You can always use the custom profession system to make some of these. Stuff like “parkour expert” especially is kind of exactly why that option exists.

Yes, but it doesn’t give you a backstory or any abilities really.

Issue with more professions is not only do they have to get written in and implemented, but then the story has to generally try to refer to them whenever it makes sense to do so, and the list is already insane.

Man trying to go back over every potential path, through all 4 parts to recode and edit text. That would be a nightmare.

I am waiting for the real antagonist to show up in the story

Not zombies, not bandits, not the Silverthorne militia, not the New Army

But the IRS

Do the combat drug consumable have adverse after effect? Like huge spikes of fatigue or lowered stamina

Early to mid next year, probably

This literally happened over the past day.

So yes I just took down the demo but haven’t closed this thread yet.

I believe it is targeted for February or April, 2026.
