I hope the story skip when she at the edge of birth.
JimD you are such a talented writer
and I love your story so far. I do hope you are taking care of yourself, i see so many writers get burn out and its worsens their mental health so I wish you only the best. I have a question, I understand that Zombie Exodus is in the same world as Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven so does that mean the ending will be whatever we got in the first game as a ending? I heard this was going to be a longer series which I am so here for because I love all these characters for background to main npcs in safe haven.
I actually was reading part 2 evolving a guys in the military one’s a marine and our player is an army captain the joke is they always have barbs with each other fun each other or just go down and insult each other my grandpa part of the Air Force made fun of the Marines them they’re the first ones to die on the battlefield and told me never ever join them if you want a long life but and that’s the truth about some of the military they don’t like each other or they tolerate each other they can be in separate units and be friends but there’s still this camaraderie and still these insults it’s like I hate love relationship so I’m glad you brung this relationship in the picture JimD you making me live back my days with my grandpa talking shit
@JimD . Hey, this is something I’ve noticed in a lot of these games, not just this one, in Chapter 2 when you go to the shopping area/ grocery store and are interacting with the family in The Outdoors store when you meet the non-binary kid there doesn’t seem to be any explanation to the players party that that child does not ascribe to existing pronouns and it doesn’t feel natural.
It just seems a little weird that, at a glance, someone knows that this random child they’ve never met before goes by they them pronouns.
I’ve never had someone in person tell me their pronouns vocally, I work in a hospital and there’s a small number that have them on their employee badges.
Anyway that’s all. Appreciate the story and the crazy amount of choice and options you are putting at our disposal is legitimately insane
Understandable. I am aware that this community is of a very similar mindset on topics relating to that. I am also aware it is rather difficult to talk about those topics on this forum without risking backlash of some form. I’m also aware that I have a very different opinion on the topic as a whole that likely runs contrary to the standard opinions here. My main reasoning with bringing it up was if it’s going to exist, may as well exist in a way that seems more plausible or believable for the three seconds it’s relevant.
I actually agree with you. As a blind person, I often make assumptions on people’s gender based on their voices. I am yet to be corrected in public, but it is what it is I guess.
I can see your point of view. I too, have some difficulty understanding the path of others. However, I do not need to understand, to accept, and it’s no inconvenience to address another, as he/she/they prefer. In regards to the story, it took me a minute to figure out Aris as well. Might be good to add Harriet give a brief explanation to a group that doesn’t contain non-binary members. I am in no way intending for anyone to feel attacked, either Seven, or any non binary people here. Just expressing general support.
Eh, ain’t too worried if I get attacked; I’m in private security it’s literally my job
Kevin and Madison only become a thing if you don’t pursue her. In my teen playthrough, I had to put Kev in his place.
Cant believe i never asked this, but will ZESH ever get a cheat mode? I remember one of the previews ((part 3? Maybe idk)) having one. Granted, i dont feel like its particularly really needed.
But it would make doing some of the more “out there” playthroughs a bit easier.
There’s a guide to save editing on Steam ZESH page. Not sure if this helps. Confess I used the timecount edit to get more time to chat with group mates
Just finished my fourth run through. I keep intending to keep a proofread log, but I keep getting sucked in. Wasn’t sure about the wendigo, part of what I like about your story, is that the zeta virus rooted in science (I know not real, but…), adding the cryptozoological kind of seems like a hat on a hat. Still not 100% sold on it, but it’s growing on me. Elsie seems really cool, but I like Maddie too much. I heard there’s going to be a time skip. I’d like to see an option to make a stronger commitment to your RO, especially if you got the ring from the safe in part one. Maybe add a system to reflect bartering with allies, several allies mention the idea. If this system would prove more difficult than useful, I can dig it Also would be nice to get better descriptions of some group members, Jaime in particular, sure he’s a giant, but is that all there is to him? Also would like to find out what happened to Kent’s group (unless they just mozied off to Idaho), meeting with the River Dogs leadership (they seem like a good group with poor leadership), and the Graves family ( a SWAT officer could do wonders for my groups combat capabilities, and a firefighter is certainly a better field medic than Alison). In any event, I have no doubt your ideas are better than mine, Jim. Cheers.
I really hope Kent and his guys didn’t make it to the silver thorns because that place is a wreck by the end of my part three and it would kind of suck to see the kids killed in that
Hopefully but someone must of told them what the silvers are really like so they would stay away
I’m pretty sure Kent would smell the Silverthorne’s B.S. a mile away. I think we’ll probably see at least some of them again. I doubt Ed’s going to make it though. I sensed some potential Shane issues in that group. Ed was definitely the weak link in that group. Of course they could have gone to Idaho. I’m more interested in Laurel coming back. Reilly said it all “That girl’s got style.”
She’d make a good medic, being a registered nurse pre-Apocalypse and all. Our Medic MCs can’t do it all alone after all, and Alison is still a student (and we’re not sure how far along in training she was prior to Z-day, if she was indeed truthful). That and she seemed like a nice love interest for unromanced!Reilly.
So would John from the Graves family. He’s a firefighter, so he’s EMT trained too. As for Alison, I’m thinking Sean is right, she’s just too young to actually be in medical school. I have a feeling that’s going to bite me later, I pretty much have tried to recruit everyone, even Jude.
Does anyone know what the update today was? Appears all my COG games updated, but I’m most concerned with ZESH. Obviously I know it’s not part four . but would like to know what it was.
Thanks for pointing out those errors. I will try to find them. I think you gave me enough to go on.
I think that’s reasonable. My goal is to revisit all of the paths/ROs since I am going to add age before Part 4 releases.
Which storage locker?
Safe Haven will have its own unique endings. There will be more than the original game. However, some may be somewhat similar. For example, it would be safe to assume one ending would involve a creation of a vaccine or even a cure for the disease caused by Zeta.
if this was not a Hosted Games title, I would probably handle it differently. These games tend to be more inclusive and have a much more inclusive audience. So the dialogue in that section may not sound as natural, but I guess I handled it differently because of the audience.
I don’t think I’ll ever add a cheat mode, but I have considered difficulty levels. One of the levels would include very high Skills at the start, which would effectively be cheating in my opinion.
I have a little work to do on the Wendigo storyline. Right now, I think he is too easy to kill and needs to have a greater impact.
I definitely agree about this. It has been 3 weeks into the outbreak so far, but after the time skip, you could have effectively been with your RO for almost 5 months.
I have already started coding such a system
Every character is getting customize artwork. So far I have received Madison, Brody, and Jillian.
Jim, I love the artwork, I had seen all but the Brody one. Also dug the chapter 13 Maddie drawings, I think I saw them on your twitter page. I’m trying to avoid spoilers, but it’s the storage locker in chapter 13, with the drugs in it. As for the wendigo, like I said, it’s growing on me, and at the end of the day, I totally dig your story, and have full faith in your artistry. One last thing, it would also be nice to be able to see what equipment/armor my teammates have loaded currently, and an option to hand out some of the extra weapons in my inventory out. I hope I’m not being a pain in your keister here boss, I know you have tons on your plate, and I really don’t like the idea of making more headaches for you. As always, kudos on a story I’ve already played 10-15 times, and still get enjoyment out of in each new playthrough. Cheers maestro.
