Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, Part 4 Public Beta - updated 5/3/2025, 850,000+ words

My simple thought is nah thats not the case.

There are multpile things that suggest in that very sequence if i recall correctly that point to it not being from that as well a few other places.

I have another question related to the Jude issue. Is it necessary for me to defeat the museum survivors, or can I just convince them to surrender? Currently, I’ve just been convincing them to surrender, which also could be why I’m not able to recruit him.

No issues making allegiances, being a fair leader and just ally when able so far.

Rachel only cares about being scavengers. I remembered now.

It works when I dont persuade but when I take charge, lead. I also learning the difference in that type being in charge when not. Really does need more micro managing when leader vs persuader. Reilly and Tommy only like me cause I can kill so many everytime I fight. 5 or above 80% in shooting and slashing/crushing.

Ah I see now. To get Jude, I actually have to fight the museum guys. Also, as the second in command, Rachel ignores Jude when it comes to assignments.

Darlene points to a man, “Thats Jude.”

Jude wasnt there, I blew his brains out.

I mean, if you’re cracked and just spin the block, you’ll start calling it a Fraudigo real quick.

Nah, you don’t have to fight the museum guys to get Jude. It is possible to get him even when going the peaceful route (Though the choices might be very specific to get him. And i did played with a very early Part 3 with no update patches at the time, so it might have changed)

This is my followup of the previous review, most of what I wrote still applied here

Grammar error/bugs

When I started the game with Kevin as the quartermaster, he come up to me to say Rachel give me permission to use her items, EVEN THOUGH HE JUST GOT KIDDNAPPED!? funny stuff

Boss him around?

My character was neither a doc, a nurse nor a scientist

Clean teeth with what?

It is weird that this dialogue occur, especially since my character specifically have no interests in men, much less Jaime himself, and yet this feel like a romance dialogue.

Bark, not park

When fighting the Raiders that took Kevin and choosing the snipe the gunmen option, this wonky dialogue occur, it feel like something is missing.

Picky Eater

Nobody died, but dialogue indicate that someone did. It only happen when I decided to let Kevin be kidnapped and brought to the storage depot before being rescued, so maybe code thought he die at that point or something.

Another bug that happen is that if you talk to Doctus group first, you have the option to tell them that you have already hear Sigma’ side of the the story, even though it didn’t happen yet

No screenshot on this but when you take command of both your and the raider group during Kevin’s rescue, there is no aftermath, no confrontations, etc. They are just gone. (I like to believe that upon witnessing our MC being a charismatic badass, the Payne gang just disappear from the universe as they feel like they don’t deserve to exist alongside the MC, but this is more likely just a bug)

Overall, most of the bugs occur during the Kevin rescue operation, especially during the fight with the raiders, I suggest you should focus on that section first for bug fix, as i feel like it is wonky at best, both in dialogue, and options.

Personal opinions

Overall i like the story, especially the part where you communicate with other groups and attempt to establish a survivors network, it feel like the world is healing and survivors are working together to establish orders, no matter how hard it would be, this really give good immersion into the world and make everything feel much more real.

Though right now it is being really held back by bugs and wonky codes, so it would be much better when it is fixed.

Also, all my points in the previous review still applied, as not much was changed during part 14

Miscellanious stuff

When you choose the 2nd option, you can’t actually return to trade, once Kevin is rescued and the loot taken from the storage, your group just go home without visiting the Native and trade with them, seem like missed opporunity there (I want to sell drug to them lol)

Also, the last time I play I think I meet this dude in the valley after meeting the natives, was that encounter removed?

Would be nice if a MC with high combat skill get acknowledged here

Also when talking about faction allegiance, it would be nice if there is an option that said “Nah, never heard/meet of these groups”

One more thing is the relationship between our Nephew and Missy, right now there are only options that said that Missy shouldn’t boss our nephew around or just leave them be, it would be epic if there is an option to tell our nephew to man up and order missy around instead,

I might add more reviews as I complete more playthrough in the future

I may have an issue over the General being Jude.

One: Ranged: 5 and Medic: 4, Id know he was dead.

Two: took time to scavenge that a headshot untreated that long is death. Even if somehow with above medicine skill to not notice.

That general still there even with Jude next to me.

Just saying, the sniper shot to kill me, so I shot back. His fault for being a psycho first.

I just get the feeling I need to purposefully seek and kill him, right along with Keith.

Nope, gotta restart.

Its a bug concerning jude if you kill him at the pharmacy he is suppost to stay dead.

Has anyone ever tried going through the game without people skills like empathy, intimidation, leadership and persuasion? How did it work out for you? Can it even be done without suffering too serious consequences?

I usally have at least one of them but i guess it depends on what you consider serious consequences. For instance if you do t have people skills your chances of convincing people to do what you say is very small which can lead to deaths or not getting something you wanted as a result. The thing that stands out the most to me since its been a while in my latest of playthroughs if your not leader of the group then the three from the silverthorn camp get refused and left behind.

Charisma 35, 40 if wasnt a teen.

Dont think you can lead with no skill, mine is 80%+. I do just fine keeping things fair or friendly. Unless I made a choice, I thought wasnt aggressive, that could of been followed up. It wasnt. Oh well. Enemies to the New Army. Stating facts wasnt well recieved.

Persuasion started at a 1 for me. Not certain how/why. I did put it to 2, sits at 50 something or 40, I dont know. I ignore persuasions. I do commands.

Empathy I did set to skill 3, I think. Its below 60 definitely.

When not leading, social skills and likes/dislikes dont seem to matter as much from my experience.

Rachel doesnt listen no matter what. All about building up, but doesnt. Shes weird. When leading, i have haters loving me, lovers hating me, its weird.

I really dont get it.

I never have dumped charisma and social skills completely. Learned through gaming history, charisma and persuasion is what you want, next to lockpicking and trapfinding. Combat and everything else isnt as important.

Not this one! If combat skills are low, the battle of the hill plays differently. With 5 in both weapons I use, their is barely any zombies to deal with and no struggling up the hill fights. Literally, wiped them out for the most part. No struggles to move nephew or dog up hill. My actress however didnt and was at threats of loss of lives, dependent on what I did and who would die.

When not using social skills, plenty die. As Rachel lead run gave witness to me. Bailey, August, Allison, few others dead. Because I wasnt using my social skills.

A bit off topics, but would there be features where you can fish with explosives (Grenade,C4,Gunpowder) in the future? It seem cool

Fishing with explosives isnt a good idea when zombies are drawn to that noise. Time to grab the fish is less likely to happen.

That’s not a thing that you can actually do, just a movie trope

Several issues.

  1. Boom-Booms are loud. That’ll be sure to attract a legion of the dead.
  2. They’re explosives. Whatever it kills is going to be in bits.
  3. Wasteful. Very wasteful.

Fishing with explosives kills fish because water is incompressible and transmits the shockwave really well. They don’t get blown up or die to shrapnel, they die because the blast wave pressure causes internal organ damage.

That’s also why it’s super inefficient; lots of fish killed by the explosions will suffer a swim bladder rupture, lose buoyancy, and sink to the bottom instead of floating up for harvest. So the fish you harvest will be mostly intact, but there will also be like 9 dead fish at the bottom of the lake for every one that floats up for harvesting.
