Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, Part 4 Public Beta - updated 5/3/2025, 850,000+ words

Hi just a quick question is there a way to win the museum fight and get help from the red mambas at the militia camp

Yes. You need to fix Drake’s bike, and accept an alliance with him on the first day at the junkyard. During the museum fight, shoot Cruz despite the difficult shot (you need a high ranged weapons skill). However, this will result in Space Cadet Mel being the only survivor of the museum group (also she will pretty much hate you). Then during the Silverthorne camp conversation with RBMC, say either you will return the bike Sean stole, or that she has facts confused, do not be directly confrontational with the Mambas. This should result in the Mambas helping you fight the Silverthornes. Hope this helps.

I did this and it said “you backed us up at the museum but we still lost”

I wouldn’t feel too bad about the wendigo scene @JimD. The fact is that there are good odds that you hit that scene with an absolute murderers row of shooting talent and firepower. It seems to me it’s a case where if you go with a bunch of people wielding cricket bats and swords (or simply folks who havent received firearms training) you have more of a problem, but if you’re rocking some high-powered weaponry and the skills to make it count, things play out as they should.

Very much looking forward to Jillian calling us Daddy at some point. And the likely walking in on our cam session with our hacker time girlfriend, only to join in.

Though… she could use a little more work, maybe with us asking about her life and such, specially about her sex life and possibly being intimidated by it (if one wants to play the virgin card)/not having an issue with it and be open to the sharing idea early on with certain others/etc.

Still, love the Oppai One.

Hmmm strange, I don’t remember exactly what Thelma said, but the Red Mambas backed me up for sure. Many dead Silverthornes (I believe the text said I was unsure if the camp would even survive). Maybe it was my high persuasion skill. I’ll run through part 3, and get back to you.

I sure did, brought most of my heavy hitters, and laid the wendigo out. One thing I noticed in the beta, you give MC options to confront Madison (if she’s your GF) about her relationship with Kevin. Not a good idea for a healthy relationship, but I dig the option. However, in my readthroughs, it seems to me Kevin is the problem there. Detecting some Shane vibes coming off Kev. Will we have an option to speak with Kevin privately, to address the issues there. Could be options for everything from a polite conversation, to putting Kevin’s lights out, could even be temporary lights out, to burying him next to Eli. I imagine this has crossed your mind, Jim. Cheers

Oh well who cares about the space cadet when they are the only survivor. They can’t do anything apart from joining another group if they can. The mambas are pretty chill and help out if we fix the bike so it’s worth it. The other group in the fight are too sus and there doesn’t seem to be much point teaming with them

If you have high persuasion skill, you can choose to alert thema of cruz position then pick “you don’t want any further bloodshed today”—>trade for fuel.
Red mamba will agree to back you up if you have high relationship with them, having high empathy helps.

It maybe a bug, I’m unsure whether Jim has fixed that scene.

Kevin annoys the shit out of me, but things to keep in mind:

  • We’ve taken over his space and life and are thoroughly repurposing it before his eyes.

  • The world is ending.

  • He watched his father be eaten by zombies only a few days ago…after suffering the trauma of watching Eli’s slow mental degradation.

Whatever his hangups before, he’s in a severely compromised and vulnerable spot too. As annoying as the inciting incident of part 4 is, it makes sense given that he’s been playing both protector and secret keeper for his father for a while now, and he could see this as protecting his dad’s legacy. That doesn’t make keeping us in the dark the right choice, but it certainly makes it one of those things we have to be willing to contextualise as we sweep away the lives we had to the lives were trying to live together now.

The way that I would probably handle it is by telling him that he’s used his get out of jail free card, and while I understand why he handled things that way, he needs to be a paragon of transparency, can do, and team support moving forward because his sins were forgiven with blood, and that’s a cost he needs to pay.

I’m not talking about the drugs (they could be useful, if processed into morphine or epinephrine), or him getting kidnapped, my concern is he’s clearly bent out of shape because Madison is my MC’s GF, and I’m not looking to catch a bullet or knife in the back from Kevin. I’ve been nothing but nice to Kevin, I think my relationship with him is mid 60s, so we’re friends, and I’d have gone to get him from Cliff and Dee, same as I would any other group member, but he needs to accept that my MC and Madison are together, and are going to be together for the duration, and if he can’t accept that, he’s got to go. In the apocalypse, what you own, is what you can hold onto, and my grip on that junkyard, isn’t going anywhere, but Kevin might have to. A part of me feels for him, but not more than the rest of my group’s safety. Plus let’s be honest here, my group has two mechanics. Putting a bullet in the back of Kevin’s head, while unpleasant, is entirely doable.

In response to Christopher, I would have liked the opportunity to offer Mel a spot in my group, she won’t make it alone, and she was instrumental to freeing Jude and the Mambas. I don’t want her to die. She seems like a character with lots of potential. I try to save everyone I can, provided they don’t attack me, or present a threat to my group. Even in cases like Jude, I prefer to give people a chance to redeem themselves.

Last point, I’d like to know how you capture Benton, because that guy is a effing corpse if I get my hands on him, and it won’t be quick.

Damn thought I was the only one who disliked Kevin, It severly pissed me off when I played my teen mc how every chance he gets he’s flirting or damn near flirting with Mads Soooooo I second the guy who talked about putting her lights out and burying him next to Eli. Also is the pregnancy thing only a Jillian thing or what because It would be cool to have your own kid Since You’re not the one who gets Jill Pregnant

Legitimate concern but what can the lad do? Specially if you are the de facto Leader of the group, you can flaunt your relationship all you want no matter how grumpy he gets, do not know if you guys remember but kissing Maddison in in front of him when you go on one of the missions(making him even more jealous/uncomfortable) just felt like one of the best moments in part 3.

Also getting our own kiddos would be cool, pregnant Maddison(or other ROS) would be a fun bonus, on later parts the writer could insert a variable for a character to get pregnant or not if future ero/suggestive scenes are a thing as it also adds replay ability.

Dam_The_Alpha, I don’t dislike Kevin, he’s just got boundary issues, which under ordinary circumstances, would be fine. No apocalypse, I’m fine with a friend who has the feels for my girl. I’m secure enough in myself. In the apocalypse, where anyone can die, at any time, you can’t let that stuff fly. Because if Kevin’s jealousy makes him murderous, just one more problem I don’t need. Killing Kevin would be my last resort. Mostly because I know Maddie wouldn’t like it, but part of me does feel for the kid.

Eldensakeld, total agreement on kissing Maddie in front of Kevin. Kid needed to be put in his place. I’m not sure about other pregnancies, and being honest, there’s no way Jillian’s kid is the MCs. It’s got to be Lyle’s. Most women don’t know they’re pregnant before 6-12 weeks, with modern medicine. Which I guess if you got the sonogram machine from the Graves family and had an infirmary, would theoretically be possible, but I have serious doubts. After all, they were grinding it out in your parents room, when you let them stay. That being said, I have only pursued Rachel (once) and Maddie (pretty much every other time, that girl is just my speed, beautiful and ruthless). Also, writing a pregnancy arc for every potential hetero female RO, would be a likely extremely long process, and I think take some unique aspects away from certain paths. Just my two cents though

Did You playthrough the pregnant Jillian route in the demo

I did not. I could never trust Jillian, so I would never have a relationship with her. Also, she’s hands down, bar none, the weakest link in the survivor chain, and being a mother, doesn’t help that calculus. Literally the only job she’s qualified for, is camp chores, and if the baby becomes a problem, they’re both gone. Madison is the only RO that really appeals to me. Rosie would be cool, but as I’m a hetero, cis gendered male, she’s not going to be into me. Rachel was kind of cool, but she’s kind of like Jillian, duplicitous, and untrustworthy, and when she told MC that she only got involved with him for manipulative purposes, I stopped caring about my relationship with her (really need an option to bail on that relationship when she says that). Bailey also seems cool, but again, after seeing how she is with Brody, trust issues arise. I don’t judge anyone, but sharing lovers doesn’t work for me I’ve heard good things about Kelly’s route, but she never seems to like me enough when entering into part 2. Team Maddie 100%. Though I confess, Elsie has my interest piqued.

Maddie for the win indeed!
The new girls RO for part 4 seem pretty interesting though.

Okay so apparently we can get Jude to join us, the guy from the grocery store (i think) but how because all my interactions with him even tho i am nice turns to me having to kill him.

Ugh little missy is adorable. Hopefully we can show her what a real family is and make the junkyard a safe haven for my nephew and her
